This is what I wrote about last night, a truly “corporate” candidate with virtually unlimited resources. I am surprised that the Kochs would allow any hanky-panky with funds…if they were aware of what Block was doing. But I think we can be sure they are “lawyered up” with this latest finance flap. There have been several confusing reports about links from Block’s organizations to the Kochs. I’m sure that it is a very convoluted situation and will probably take a team of legal experts to figure out where the money came from and where it went! They were much more the traditional repub candidates. Cain, OTOH, is a corporate spokesman/candidate for the Kochs, nothing more. Cain is very suspect, IMO. Rachel Maddow talked about Cain and his problems tonight. She mentioned that he was connected to the Koch brothers and Americans for Prosperity. This has been pretty much common knowledge for some time. What has not been mentioned is the fact that Herman Cain has NOT set up a traditional campaign organization on the ground…anywhere. It has been reported that there are very few people who actually work for the campaign. Mark Block has certainly been the only visible face besides Cain himself. Rachel asked the question that made me think about this. Did the Koch brothers think that they could field a presidential candidate, just buying their way into the White House? The Koch brothers with their billions have operatives everywhere. They have the money to buy whatever media exposure they want. They found a good public speaker in Cain, but one that could be manipulated and taught the “right” way to think. It would not be important to them if he didn’t know much. He is just barely smart enough to wing it, and the average republican voter is dumb enough to buy it. He is a successful businessman, something the repubs value, even if he has no political experience. He has a little religious background, great for the bagger bible-thumpers…all in all, a perfect candidate. Why not buy him a ready-made campaign? Why not have Koch corporate operatives work to get him elected? Why should they have to hire campaign workers and rent offices all over the country when they already have thousands on payroll and the Americans for Prosperity staff that will do their bidding? A Koch brothers candidate! Perfect! Maybe I am giving the evil brothers too much credibility. Maybe they don’t have this kind of influence. We know they have the money to do practically anything they want, and apparently they don’t have a problem spending it if it will get them into the halls of power. I am simply speculating and I may well be way off course. But what if I’m right? What if the Kochs are buying their ticket into the Oval Office?
