Displaying 121 To 150 Of 10,917 Comments LIVE BLOG – Super Tuesday 2012 I’m really shocked! if not for Newt, Santo might be winning the nom! » Posted By Chernynkaya On March 6, 2012 @ 6:37 pm YAY– Santo wins OK. » Posted By Chernynkaya On March 6, 2012 @ 5:47 pm Santoria won TN. » Posted By Chernynkaya On March 6, 2012 @ 5:35 pm When he comes on to give that mendacious piece of crap, I’m leaving. I can only stand so much. BTW, did you see Joe Scarborough? He called him an outright liar today. » Posted By Chernynkaya On March 6, 2012 @ 5:30 pm Nirek, that’s what I was told about Maria too. I was born in Southern Cal and lived here all my life, so I could never adapt to VT. My friends there told me stories about the snow, and driving in it. But what really shocked me was the Mud Season. That was something I never considered! » Posted By Chernynkaya On March 6, 2012 @ 5:19 pm Yay! United via mind-meld. » Posted By Chernynkaya On March 6, 2012 @ 5:08 pm It’s very beautiful, Sally. And Ben & Jerry’s is there too! They give free samples. » Posted By Chernynkaya On March 6, 2012 @ 5:06 pm I’ve always liked VT. I once went to a ski lodge there owned by the Von Trapp family. But I like it anyway. 🙂 » Posted By Chernynkaya On March 6, 2012 @ 4:58 pm My sympathies, KQ. Really. » Posted By Chernynkaya On March 6, 2012 @ 4:53 pm Way to go! » Posted By Chernynkaya On March 6, 2012 @ 4:52 pm Mitt won Vermont. On the bright side, 38 Town Halls there voted to overturn Citizens United. » Posted By Chernynkaya On March 6, 2012 @ 4:40 pm Oh sure. Santo and Gingrich will run until they have no more money. And Paul still harbors the fantasy that his son will be named as running mate. Or, that he can impact the Party, somehow. » Posted By Chernynkaya On March 6, 2012 @ 4:33 pm Wow, but he lost Atlanta metro. Don’t know if Mitt won there though. » Posted By Chernynkaya On March 6, 2012 @ 4:19 pm And now Romney–the only candidate besides Uncle Paul running there-won VA. » Posted By Chernynkaya On March 6, 2012 @ 4:17 pm I was just thinking that the only way women could show a gender gap is to stay home. I mean, they have no candidate that is pro-woman, right? » Posted By Chernynkaya On March 6, 2012 @ 4:07 pm Newt won GA. No real surprise, I guess. » Posted By Chernynkaya On March 6, 2012 @ 4:04 pm Andrea Mitchell just reported that there doesn’t seem to be a gender gap seen in exit polling among Evangelical wimmen. Gee, I wonder why not. .~ » Posted By Chernynkaya On March 6, 2012 @ 3:53 pm Weekend Music Thread – Wish You Were Here I’ll go first with the obvious. But I will miss this perfect voice: » Posted By Chernynkaya On February 18, 2012 @ 12:29 pm HAHAHAHAHAHAH!!! That was great. » Posted By Chernynkaya On February 17, 2012 @ 5:41 pm AdLib–glad you liked those. I wish I could still say, “you’ve come a long way, baby.” Well, we have, but this week goes to show how easily some things can be reversed. » Posted By Chernynkaya On February 17, 2012 @ 5:40 pm I like the lakes. Not only the big ones; the small ones too! And the trees in Michigan are the right height. And the amber waves of photosynthesis vegetation product! » Posted By Chernynkaya On February 17, 2012 @ 2:05 pm The Romney’s at home: » Posted By Chernynkaya On February 17, 2012 @ 1:55 pm KQ that’s a tough one. It’s true about the financial wash, and I do think that it’s great for kids to have a stay-home parent. But when I was a young mother (I stayed home 2 yrs) my decision to go back to work was smart in retrospect. I invested in my career and by the time our son was out of the house I was a VP. But more important, I was able to support myself when we got divorced. Women must be financially independent. I really don’t think it’s a choice unless one is an heiress. » Posted By Chernynkaya On February 17, 2012 @ 1:14 pm Kes -HAHAHAHA–NO. No link! You have to imagine it. 😆 Ok, if you wanna be picky! The clip starts at 3:41 » Posted By Chernynkaya On February 17, 2012 @ 12:52 pm The sad truth is that most of the HS dropouts are Latinos. I don’t have the national numbers on this but in CA fully half of Latinos drop out. I think there are a lot of factors but that community must look inwards and address this. But you are right about the fundamentals. That’s why Obama is working so hard to reform education. I especially like that he wants to make school mandatory until age 18. I know there are many reforms needed, but to be honest I think a lot of the reforms need to start with families and society. Not to sound all grumpy-old-man, but when I was a kid, teachers were respected and parents usually baked them up. I’m not saying teachers are always right, but frankly, just staying in school and getting some remedial help would be huge reforms. Ans of course, freaking funding more schools. » Posted By Chernynkaya On February 17, 2012 @ 11:45 am KQ, unmarried women were a solid part of the Obama coalition in’08, but you’re right that young people don’t vote enough in general, and they’d better. But I think I’ve read some disturbing polling about the youth vote–they are so discouraged by the economy that they might go repub out of the stupidity of youth. I was watching Hardball last night and saw that clip of Romney talking about how much he loves Michigan–did you see that? The part where he said the trees were the “right height?” It was unbelievable! Also, for the first time I saw Mittens walking and I never noticed it before but he MINCES! » Posted By Chernynkaya On February 17, 2012 @ 11:14 am Kalima, I’m glad I gave you fair warning–didn’t want you to enter the Twilight Zone again! 😆 » Posted By Chernynkaya On February 17, 2012 @ 10:59 am Oh for gawd’s sake! I hit the publish button accidentally! I give up. See you guys tomorrow, I hope! » Posted By Chernynkaya On February 16, 2012 @ 11:22 pm Khirad, I guess those nukes have to be activated or something, but I keep wondering what happens in an accident. There’s probably enough radiation in there to cause some chaos. » Posted By Chernynkaya On February 17, 2012 @ 5:36 pm No, Sally. The link to that pic was like 15 lines long and the site just can’t publish a link that long. what to do in future is to go to https://bitly.com/ to shorten the link first. » Posted By Chernynkaya On February 16, 2012 @ 10:00 pmComments Posted By Chernynkaya
