But like I said: they weren’t all gems (H/T to Wendi Aarons) I also had to dance to Billy Joe Royal and Lou Christie. But I got to dance for the Animals. That was the highlight. After 35 years, many of the old gang of go-go girls got together with some of the local garage bands several years ago. It was a blast. Since then, we have lost several of our “tribe”. (“Just stop it” in the words of Queen Ann Romney). We were watching UP with Chris Hayes as they discussed the effects of internet spying and loss of privacy vis a vis David Petraeus and more importantly, me and everyone else. One question asked by Chris of David Frum was whether or not the conservatives should/could offer up a bill to allow more privacy and protection and maybe garner additional future votes this way. So the Blov and I came up with the absolutely irrefutable incredibly amazing eight word string of words (seven, if you don’t include the word “Act”) that would ensure every Republican would vote for the bill. The Blov thought up the first four words (sans “Act”), I came up with the next two and he added the piece de resistance, which made me snort coffee out of my nose. I will wait till he gets a password to re-log in, then allow him to reveal the perfect combo of words to get bills passed. Play along, if you like, till he gets his password from an Admin. Oh yeah – and the bumper stickers are here. They will soon be mailed to you who have requested them, and one or two who didn’t but who should have them anyways. Just got home and peeked at last nights VOX which I had frozen on screen early this morning. I saw everyone’s consensus about TX seceding – which I TOTALLY get why you think it is a good idea – but more importantly, I saw where KT and CL offered me (and my chirrens) asylum in their land(s) should such a thing come to pass. It touched my heart. Truly. But you must understand – I’m here to fight and to stay. I will die here, like Molly Ivins, like Ms. Ann, like LBJ (he WAS an SOB, but effective and did some good to counter the Vietnam debacle – and Claudia (aka Lady Bird) was a gem). I am switching hats this spring to work full time on politics. Gloves off. Fists balled. Mouth open. AdLib is right (is he EVER wrong?) about turning Texas blue. There is a very, very concerted effort now with P. Bush (george p – I just like my name better) and a run for the Hispanic vote. Well, with Julian, Joaquin, Mike Villarreal and others I think we can convince them IF we work hard enough that Repubs are like those men who will tell you anything you want to hear, just to get what they want from you. But what is in their hearts? Their past? So me and some pals are going full out to help remind/educate the Hispanics to: “Cuidado!
