The whole concept of requiring citizens to buy insurance is simply the timid and less effective alternative to everyone paying more in taxes for guaranteed health insurance. Single payer would be more efficient, fairer and cut premiums in a far greater way. That’s what the majority of Americans favored (at least before the Repub hysteria of Death Panels) but the insurance company owned politicians in DC would never allow that to occur. Some check or balance this court is on Executive power. And the cancer and birth defect rate in Iraq is a replay of what happened after the Gulf War. The Bunker Buster bombs are tipped with depleted uranium, allegedly for hardening the tip but that is highly suspect. When one explodes, it spreads radioactive material into all directions, the air, the soil and open water sources. Loved the old gangster films, “Public Enemy”, The Roaring Twenties, Scarface (the original with Paul Muni). Cagney, Edward G. Robinson, Bogart. Always liked Bogart but Cagney had such charisma. Just watching Grapes of Wrath right now on TCM, such an appropriate story for today.
