Time Out for O/T – Vol. 15

It’s amazing we can build something that could survive out there.

Smedley, very cool. Thanks for the link.

foxisms, First of all, thank you for that poem. It fits in perfectly.

I think time is “real”in a sense. We perceive it’s passage and we are able to measure it. But are we measuring a somewhat vague law of the universe or are we just dividing up chunks of our own subjective consciousness?

If time is a stream that can go both ways then why does it seem like every other law in the universe fights to prevent us from traveling back in time? And if time flows in such a manner into the future, then everything that has ever happened has already happened. We here in this particular time just haven’t gotten to it yet.

And it just gets deeper and deeper and deeper. I’ve been reading a lot about it lately and I really can’t wrap my head around a lot of the theories.

Indeed, Pocket.

I think, right now, even if we discovered faster than light travel, the problem would be surviving it. And, also, overcoming the contradiction of ending your journey before you ever begin it, the reversal of cause and effect, and the infinite density(which is physically impossible as far as we know) in an object traveling faster than light. It would need to be Star Trek style and have systems to deal with inertia and time dilation. Or we travel in “sub-space” where the regular laws don’t apply.

As far as time, well, where did it come from? Did it exist before the Big Bang? If so, then the Big Bang wasn’t a beginning. If time were eliminated what would happen? Would the universe cease to progress? When you are aware of time, it seems to move slower, when unaware, it moves faster. It’s a weird concept.

Cosmic Journeys, Episode 8: When Will Time End?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5OFThORmR-s&feature=BF&list=SL&index=8

Is time a property of the universe or just a human invention?

It’s on the master list which is much longer. As is sumpin’. This is just a small sample 🙂

Here it’s “fixin’ ta”

» Posted By ADONAI On March 17, 2011 @ 7:37 pm

What I type / What I say:

That / ‘at

You all / Ya’ll

think / reckon(or thank)

should / oughta

could / coulj(maybe couge? it’s a weird sound)

some of them / summa’em

hollow / holler

You get the picture. If I typed the way I talked it would be high-larious.

I would totally vote for Charlie Sheen over Sarah Palin.

I call that:

Alpha, that is a very good question. You gotta put yourself in the shoes of the average Kentuckian. We had bad unemployment numbers before it was cool to have bad unemployment numbers. We led the nation for a decade but I think, thankfully we are working our way out of the top 5.

And that’s Democratic and Republican people sent to Congress during that time(aside from Senator) and pretty much the same results. People are angry and Paul played on that like all Tea Party politicians.

Kinda like how many people in Wisconsin were led along by Walker only to find out too late what was really up. But that’s on my fellow Kentuckians for not taking our votes very seriously. But that’s a problem everywhere unfortunately.

**EDIT**

And there were people warning Wisconsin about Walker and they didn’t listen and there were people warning Kentucky about Paul. But they didn’t listen.

HA!

What’s Time magazine?

And “Gorgeous” George Clooney is from Kentucky as well. The whole Clooney family. Rosemary was from Maysville I believe.

The BBQs here are pretty damn good I must say.

**EDIT** My mom use to make a big fuss over a tupperware food tray that Johnny Depp brought his mom while she was in the hospital. They just left it. My mom worked there and, well, somewhere in storage is Johnny Depp’s tupperware bin for some reason.

KT, I have heard the same thing about radiation sickness. A painful drawn out death I would not wish on anyone.

But,like you said, someone has to do it. Hopefully they will limit their exposure and make it out o.k. Truly brave men. An example of the best in humanity.

I saw CNN doing apiece on the ‘Fukushima 50’.I hadn’t heard about these guys.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-pacific-12779510

A group of 50 or so workers who are venturing very deep into the plant, where radiation levels are at their highest. Some people are even referring to it as a potential suicide mission. All the workers are volunteers who are putting their lives at severe risk while trying to get this plant back online and avert further disaster.

Kentucky won today and Louisville lost. A great day.

Sure,my bracket is busted on day one but Louisville lost. It’s all good.

A MESSAGE TO ALL POV MEMBERS:

Why are we spending this time arguing when it could be better spent reading and commenting on my awesome front page blog posts:

The Battle of Thermopylae and Exploring Morality, Chapter 2.

Truly this is a moment to set aside your differences, come together as a group, and boost my already over inflated ego with a higher comment average.

I believe in you.

Buddy, I could see electing Obama as king though.

Not all tyrants are kings and not all kings are tyrants.

» Posted By ADONAI On March 17, 2011 @ 12:19 pm

Indeed Buddy. I’m just thinking of a way to inject some truth into our political discourse.

I’ll go one step further. People wanna complain about a tyrant? Let’s give them a tyrant. They can still complain. But it will most likely be from a prison cell or an electric chair. That’s how tyrants roll.

» Posted By ADONAI On March 17, 2011 @ 11:58 am

I wish Obama would just dissolve the Congress, claim the courts, and take over full solitary control of the country.

At least that way it would be fair when people say, “Obama should do this….” or “I wish Obama would just…” because he would have full control of the country and not just a third share of command.

Then people would have every reason to wonder why he doesn’t defy Congressional law at every turn and constantly trample the Constitution.

(is the sarcasm getting through?)

I actually don’t have an inside mat. It’s the one outside the shower that you’re suppose to stand on when you’re done that I can’t hit.

To all my fellow college basketball fans, President Obama has filled out his bracket if you wanna go check it out:

The only thing I saw that was weird on the man side was that he didn’t pee first before anything else. You usually pee first.

And I try to hit my bathmat but it moves while I’m in the shower. I swear!
