Not just for the important cultural value but for the release and freedom that it gives to so many people. Especially children. It’s popular to make fun of the band but those kids love it. And I understand that because I love music too. And a full symphony is something EVERYONE should experience in person. Art was always my favorite class. I could draw o.k. but that didn’t matter. Just like writing, I enjoyed doing it. If it looked almost exactly like the thing I was drawing , I felt an immense sense of accomplishment and self confidence. Children NEED that! And when the Dems actually took back control of the Congress and had the absolute authority to start overturning a great deal of this bullshit, what happened? Nothing. Arguments and caving. I remember the discussions everyday. What important issue will the Democrats cave on next? They focused all their attention on being re-elected in greater numbers and they lost their issues. And that’s all that ever really matters. I don’t fear the Republicans. Most of America doesn’t know hardship. They don’t fucking know poverty. You know why most national politicians stay away from Appalachia, the Deep South, and the broken mid-west?
