Displaying 3,181 To 3,210 Of 3,538 Comments Abby, thank you very much. I know exactly why you are a Democrat and why you support them wholeheartedly and I admire that as well. On the other topic,He was defeated by Hindenburg BUT he “entered” into a coalition government after Hindenburg was basically forced to appoint him Chancellor after Nazi ballot stuffing made him appear so “popular”.(and almost won him the election) When Hindenburg died Hitler basically removed the term limits from the Chancellor position, consolidated power to it, and eventually became the dictator we know. In the broader sense, I meant he was never really elected President. he was never really “elected” to anything in national government at all. » Posted By ADONAI On February 27, 2011 @ 3:50 pm I agree with you to some degree Abby. I wasn’t defending all Independents. I hate the people you speak of. The ones who voe for whomever the TV told them to. I am an Independent because I don’t care for either Party and I don’t believe that a third Party isn’t a viable choice. WE are the ones who decide that. The only one telling you they can’t win, is you. But, in all honesty, I want to get rid of ALL political parties. They do nothing but divide because that is what gets them elected and keeps them in control. Both sides fear losing to the other. Keeps us down. Keeps us behind. As far as the Germany comparison. I wasn’t aware that we had just lost a World War, signed a force armistice, and accepted Western sanctions. Also, Hitler didn’t get elected. He was appointed to his position and used it to claim the Presidency of Germany. Fuck the Democrats. Fuck the Republicans. » Posted By ADONAI On February 27, 2011 @ 3:28 pm As a registered Independent *sigh* I feel like I have to put up a defense here. We’re not all idiots. Not all of us are these brainless “swing voters” that politicians pander to every fucking day. Ideological traitors who abandon their principle for hollow promises. We are not the ones who need to “wake up”. Many of us have been staring at the world with eyes wide open for quite awhile now. We see 2 Parties who back themselves into corners with their constant bickering, then blame us for being in the way. Fuck the Republicans. Fuck the Democrats. Give me a reason to vote for you that doesn’t involve, “they’re gonna kill you!”. AND BRING BACK PHIL DONAHUE!!!! » Posted By ADONAI On February 27, 2011 @ 3:04 pm Hookers and blow? » Posted By ADONAI On February 27, 2011 @ 2:48 pm C squared to da P!(still not getting old, The history of those parties is weird. Democrats have been EVERYTHING! Anti-Constitution, Pro-Constitution, ultra liberal, ultra conservative, for slavery, against slavery, and on and on and on. The Republicans are founded by Freemen and abolitionists, yet turn into the most racist mainstream political party in America. It’s all about demographics I guess. When the “Dixiecrats” abandoned the Democratic Party in the late 50’s,early 60’s, and flooded the Republican Party, it changed everything. They basically consumed the Republican Party and branded their ultra conservative, theocratic ideology all over it. They started the plan to sharply divide the country down the middle on social issues and use that to gain political victories. Because it works. Obviously. » Posted By ADONAI On February 27, 2011 @ 2:38 pm Godspeed Duke. Hail “The Dodger Way” » Posted By ADONAI On February 27, 2011 @ 2:14 pm Just some odds and ends I’m thinking about from the week that was: 1.)Austan Goolsbee. Still sounds like a guy who should be either gloating while his thugs chain James Bond to a nuclear missile or stranded on a tropical island with his wife, a professor, a movie star, a fat sailor, an idiot , and Mary Ann. 2.)Wisconsin. Great sports teams. Terrible bookkeepers. 3.)Muammar Gaddafi. Holy shit you guys! He’s like your crazy friend’s crazier grandpa. Can’t we keep him? Not in Libya but can’t we get him a job here? Him and Ozzy can make cell phone commercials that make absolutely no fucking sense. Let’s just keep him in a home somewhere and every month or so we’ll wheel him out and give him a topic to riff on for 20 or 30 minutes. You now you love it. He can turn a thesis on state rights into a bizarro tale resembling a blend of Hunter S.Thompson and the insane ramblings of a man who writes on the wall in his own feces. 4.)That Gadaffi riff went on forever didn’t it? Wasn’t even that funny. 5.)Who tha Hell is gonna beat Obama in 2012? Mitt Romney is the front runner right now in all the straw polls. The Mitter? Again? The John Kerry of the Right? Can I squeeze in any more rhetorical questions? He was out-debated by Mike Huckabee. HUCKABEE! 6.)Best Picture: Inception That’s about it. GO WISCONSIN! *EDIT*: » Posted By ADONAI On February 25, 2011 @ 5:00 pm Me put letters together. Make words for looking at. » Posted By ADONAI On February 25, 2011 @ 2:49 pm Welp, I’m done. Arrogant prick had been giving me the stink eye the whole time. At this point, Dad came screaming up behind me, “WHAT THA HELL?!” But I had already thrown it into drive and was quickly making my way through the adjacent field parallel to the train. I was gonna outrun this son of a bitch if it killed me. White knuckled I put the pedal to the floor and inched closer and closer to the engine. As I made the pass I could see the engineer leaning out the carriage window. “FUCK YOU!”, I screamed as I extended him a one finger salute. I never felt more alive than at that moment. After doing a few donuts in the field, I slowly drove back to my dad. He looked furious. I slowed down and he approached the window. “Sorry dad”, I said. “Sorry?!?! I left my sign up sheets in the back seat! You cost me 5 new voters! No ice cream tonight! And next time, downshift on the turns. You’re killing the transmission.” And good night chase!!! » Posted By ADONAI On February 24, 2011 @ 8:02 pm Slamming my foot on the accelerator I backed full force straight into the car behind me. If a baby dolphin is eaten by a shark, that’s just the circle of life. A leader the MSM will refuse to cover. » Posted By ADONAI On February 24, 2011 @ 7:42 pm We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. » Posted By ADONAI On February 24, 2011 @ 7:37 pm KT, So I could watch it even if I didn’t already have a membership? Thanks for the recommendation. » Posted By ADONAI On February 24, 2011 @ 7:27 pm chase, He doesn’t sit right with me. Everything is the “fall of the republic” with him. He may be well intentioned with his rants but they only serve to demean the role of the American people and paint us as powerless victims. We very much are not. » Posted By ADONAI On February 24, 2011 @ 7:26 pm It is good that he is going after the Wisconsin story. Keeping it in the spotlight. » Posted By ADONAI On February 24, 2011 @ 7:17 pm I haven’t watched Meet the Pres since Gregory’s first show. I just couldn’t stop yelling at the television. I will definitely make sure to tune in. » Posted By ADONAI On February 24, 2011 @ 7:14 pm Good lord, no! » Posted By ADONAI On February 24, 2011 @ 7:13 pm Cher, excellent backhanded compliment. Kudos. And I’m not digging in my heels. This is just my opinion. You have yours and I have mine. And mine is that the “religious right” is the least of our concerns. They supposedly got all kinds of power a decade ago but what did they get from it? They lost DADT. Probably gonna lose DOMA. Still fighting a stalemate war against abortion. Supreme Court still votes on precedent. Bush didn’t even give them all the government assistance he promised them. His “faith based initiatives”. When do they cash one in? The last decade has just been the same back and forth there has always been. » Posted By ADONAI On February 24, 2011 @ 7:06 pm The road to Hell is paved with good intentions. » Posted By ADONAI On February 24, 2011 @ 6:49 pm Meh. The “religious right” has been influencing the country since it was created. Curfews, prayer rights(or forced prayer), slavery, women’s suffrage, prohibition, blue laws, and tons of things I’m not even thinking of. Eventually the people catch on to their attempted buzz-kill and get rid of it. I see no reason not to think the same in this instance. And the country was never Left. it has ALWAYS been to the right. If not, we wouldn’t be debating the same social issues we’ve been debating for generations. We wouldn’t have out of control personal debt, or ridiculous drug laws. It wouldn’t be a country of churches and prisons. This isn’t the religious right. It’s just us. The thing about manipulation is, it’s real easy when the subject already has natural inclinations to go that way. What is wrong with this country is so much bigger than the religious right. » Posted By ADONAI On February 24, 2011 @ 6:47 pm KT, yes indeed. The man was bat-shit insane. » Posted By ADONAI On February 24, 2011 @ 6:26 pm Yeah. That sounds like Flossy. » Posted By ADONAI On February 24, 2011 @ 6:25 pm HA! 7.)NO “journalist” on one of the cable networks should say “We are covering a story that no one is talking about”. Someone is talking about it. They just don’t have a hour of prime time TV to talk about it and Charlie Sheen’s latest meltdown.
