Everyone hates Donald Trump. His approval numbers are at record lows and people are abandoning him like . The country’s top CEOs, Republican Senators, past Republican presidential candidates and Presidents. Even Rupert Murdoch’s son and a number of hosts and pundits on Fox News.
Can’t a Nazi defender get a little love? Uh…nope.
To recognize this moment of conscience by even those on the right not well known for having it, this weekend’s music thread is dedicated to making Donald Trump the most isolated, loneliest man in the world.
Share your songs about being alone, sadness and feeling like you’re all dressed up in your white sheets with nowhere to go.
You won’t be alone this weekend when you share your songs with your fellow Planeteers about feeling sad and lonely, the sorrowful present and future (behind bars or not) that inevitably awaits Trump.
Ignore the Hillary bit…..I don’t agree with that.
When Trump is GONE! Dems Vote, the country needs you!
This is great, Fergie! – Thank you for sharing this, I did not know that Yarbrough collaborated with the poetry of Rod McKuen, or that McKuen himself had composed many songs. Always liked the poetry of Mckuen, will have to check out more of their music! – Also found out that Yarbough passed in 2016 at the age of 86 and McKuen passed in 2015 at the age of 81. 🙁 Yet their music and lyrics will always be there for others to enjoy.
The credibility of the Not-My-President is sinking lower each day, there is NO more pretending that he will be “okay” in the Oval Office! Like your song below, hurry up Mueller. 🙂 I had heard it on another thread and definitely a great post as well! – Always good to see you, take care.
Hi there Aquarius! Thank YOU! Glen Yarbrough and Rod McKuen poems and songs where my “go to” reads/listens with friends in College! A great respite from cramming! So pleased that you like them also. Would you believe I still have three of Rod McKuen’s books when I had my things shipped from SF to Sydney!
1. Love’s Been good To Me
2. Lonesome Cities
3. Listen To The Warm
Plus Vinyl (!) records of Glen Yarbrough!
Softer days. They both lived to a decent age….good.
Really enjoyed your music posts as well. Ah such good taste:)
Always good to see you too. Btw one of my cousins had her 95th birthday last week in Gibsonia, PA! She’s amazing.
Take good care AQ.
KNocks REM out of the ballpark!
For all you Planateers who keep us as sane as possible 🙂 !
