adlib 7 days ago

sillylittleme

Oops, looks like I’m stuttering tonight. slm, ad, with me, it’s same old, same old.

glenn

slm – Yep, had my internet go down today, lots of techie challenges this week though I can see daylight now.

adlib 7 days ago

ad – well everything looks good from this end…

sillylittleme

So, ad, murph, and slm….what are the chances of Dems holding on to the Senate? Could we hope for some extra seats in the House? Especially now that mcconnell and his pals have telegraphed that they are going to shut down the government again?

glenn

ad – thanks for posting my article

sillylittleme

hey harleigh – passing a doobie

sillylittleme

hi guys

Harleigh

Wow, this new site is easy to use!

funksands

Harleigh, knew you walked into the door because of the little beep…and there is funk sands….howdy too

murphthesurf3

Hey harleigh, how are you?

glenn

hey funk

sillylittleme

Hey funk, you’re here!

glenn

stoned again. The av is the real me BTW LOL

Harleigh

Glenn et. al. Sam Wang of the Princeton Election Consortium stands apart from most poll analysts in his assertion that the Dems will hold the Senate but the guy has a better record than election guru Nate Silver of “538” fame. In his article Senate Democrats are outperforming expectations Wang looks at the Senate races in Alaska, Arkansas, Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, North Carolina and New Hampshire. He calculates that Dems lead in five of these races (AK, AR, CO, NC, NH), are tied in two (IA, LA) and only behind in two (KS, KY). What is happening? Senate Democrats are doing surprisingly well. “Fundamentals” pull probabilities away from the present. The present is more sharply focused than the future. To read what all of that means take a look at Wang’s technical report. I know I will be watching this site in the future.

murphthesurf3

Yes, sorry I’ve been absent so much recently, been ridiculously busy. With the kids in school, should be easier

funksands

Murph, I agree, I think they’ll hold it 51-49

funksands

All interested…. the link…

murphthesurf3

harleigh – I’ve seen your face somewhere before.

sillylittleme

funk – agree

sillylittleme

Anyone know how to make the vox box bigger?

funksands

Hey Funk!

adlib 7 days ago

Thanks, murph, for the info. I hope Dems and even independents do NOT sit this one out. It also looks like some tp guvs are going down. I hope the one in my state does! Seems it’s neck and neck here in GA.

glenn

Hi Ad, Murph, Silly, Harleigh

funksands

funk – the bottom right corner pulls down

sillylittleme

Oh yeah, you too Kes.

funksands

Funk, click on the bottom corner of the window and drag it to enlarge.

adlib 7 days ago

Hi Kes

murphthesurf3

Shazam! Thanks everyone

funksands

Hey kids! How’s your collective Friday night?

kesmarn

hahaha SLM!!! I am the guy you mother warned their daughters about… too many years ago. cry

Harleigh

Funk…when you are done enlarging you have to click again or it keeps expanding and shrinking

murphthesurf3

hey kes

sillylittleme

Got it.

funksands

Hey Kes! A hectic day but nice to be chillin’ with friends!

adlib 7 days ago

Ack

funksands

harleigh – you actually look a lot like a friend of mine. you’re not a scientologist are you?

sillylittleme

Jesus

funksands

Likewise, AdLib!

kesmarn

Funk….what do you think of the new chat space on the Planet…a new land

murphthesurf3

Hi Kes–doing well here, and you?

glenn

hey beatlex

sillylittleme

Beatlex is in the hizzy!

murphthesurf3

Has Jesus logged in, funk? I missed that.

kesmarn

I think I like it Murph.

funksands

SLM – I am the least religious person you ever met.

Harleigh

Murph, I agree with that assessment, I think the Dems will do better than the BS meme the MSM is spreading, that the Repubs will take over. They want that to happen because it would lead to more conflict and that means ad dollars to them.

adlib 7 days ago

Hey Beatlex how goes it?

glenn

Harleigh…thank god

murphthesurf3

harleigh – you have a doppleganger

sillylittleme

Wassup Voxites? smile

beatlex

murph – lol

sillylittleme

Ooooooo private chat sunglasses

funksands

Hey Beatlex, from George to John? Keeping us guessing who your favorite was!

adlib 7 days ago

SLM – GOOD! I’ll send it my bills! LOL

Harleigh

I love it!

funksands

Hi X!

funksands

Ad lib….which is why I like this new site…The Princeton Consortium….they get “theirs” from being right.

murphthesurf3

Fund…yes, private chat…ooooooohhhhh

murphthesurf3

harleigh – he’s a cheap fuck so by all means wink

sillylittleme

Funk – Yep, private chats. But you have to keep your shirt on.

adlib 7 days ago

I think Dems should be pushing the benefits of Obamacare big time. I see two more repub guvs have expanded Medicaid

glenn

glenn – yes they have out of desperation

sillylittleme

Adlib,tough one,probably Paul.But I love all the Lads!

beatlex

Ad, is it like ChatRoulette?

funksands

😉

funksands

😉

kesmarn

I would hope the dems in all those races won. It would be a great start.

Harleigh

glenn – I agree and Dems should be pushing Repubs on what they would replace it with if they repealed it…and threw millions of Americans off of health insurance.

adlib 7 days ago

SLM–love that smell of desperation in repubs.

glenn

funk – then he would have told you to keep your pants on

sillylittleme

glenn – me too

sillylittleme

Funk – More like Chat Poker.

adlib 7 days ago

Glenn…corbett today tried to say he was “not really buying into Obamacare.” No one seemed to buy it.

murphthesurf3

Kasich is the guy that pulled off the Obamacare slight of hand most masterfully. He’s a scumbag, but he really did it.

funksands

murph – corbett’s going down

sillylittleme

Kudos to the President for showing restraint on ISIS,and making the MSM look stupid in the process

beatlex

Murph–Just another repub liar. What else can he say?

glenn

beatlex – not that you would hear that from the press

sillylittleme

Are Americans really scared of ISIS or are they just bored?

funksands

Kudos to the prez for wearing a tan suit and driving batshitcrazy king even crazier.

glenn

Right you are, funk. Kasich appointed a special committee to decide on the Medicaid expansion. That way the GOPers didn’t even have to vote on the record.

kesmarn

“The audacity of taupe,” glenn.

kesmarn

kes – nice one

sillylittleme

Wish I could take credit for it, SLM. But I stole it.

kesmarn

dem candidates should be open and supportive of the ACA and the millions now insured. To get out the vote, not attract bagger votes.

Harleigh

Kes, he’s awesome, he took the Medicaid expansion, told everyone he’s just getting Ohio’s money back and it has nothing to do with the ACA and the Ohio press is totally treating him like a hero for expanding Medicaid. He’ll win the election on that strategy

funksands

Kes–LOL–that damn black man showing audacity again!

glenn

AdLib,is there a way to make the box bigger onthe screen?

beatlex

He should have worn it again today just to fuck with everyone

funksands

funk, I’m afraid he will. Which is too bad because he’s really a bum. A smart one. But a bum

kesmarn

And Repubs may lose a lot of Governorships too. Lots of scandal around Walker, Rick Scott’s weak, Corbett’s not looking good…

adlib 7 days ago

Kes, how’d you turn off your location?

funksands

funk – now that would have been funny, although they would have questioned his hygiene.

sillylittleme

I’ve got a bad feeling about Florida. Nobody likes Charlie Crist

funksands

Beatlex, just click and drag a bottom corner of the window to enlarge it.

adlib 7 days ago

Reagan wore a tan suit too. But the RW loved that one. I personally believe it’s actually the same suit. Left in a back part of the closet.

kesmarn

funk – I don’t think that is true

sillylittleme

Funk–nobody likes Crist, but I think they like Scott even less.

glenn

Silly, that would have been interesting

funksands

Funk..really no one likes Crist?

murphthesurf3

kes – is on a roll

sillylittleme

funk, to turn off the location, you go to your profile here and there is that option.

kesmarn

Thx Ad

beatlex

Kes….I want what you are sipping.

murphthesurf3

I know, but I just have a bad feeling about Florida. Doesn’t feel right, and I think the progressive challenge to Crist is hurting Dem enthusiasm a lot

funksands

“The audacity of dope.” in Reagan’s case.

kesmarn

murph – me too kes – what are you drinking?

sillylittleme

Murph, I’m not sure what got put into this coffee when I wasn’t looking.

kesmarn

Sfunk – south floriduh is dem and for Christ. Skeletor Scott may go down.

Harleigh

Kes–LOL

glenn

😀 glenn

kesmarn

Enter…KT….taaaaa daaaaa

murphthesurf3

Harleigh, I hope you are right. You are closer to it than I am

funksands

As long as the voter suppression is held back in FL, I think Crist will win.

adlib 7 days ago

hey kt

sillylittleme

ad – I agree

sillylittleme

harleigh – my mom is in your vicinity and she thinks Crist will be back in

sillylittleme

Sfunk..Skeletor Scott..LOLmaybe he and Skeletor Jan Brewer can get together

beatlex

KT–are you here? Or are you there?

glenn

People are routinely referring to Rick Scott as “Skeletor” these days.

kesmarn

of course she’s 90 and senile

sillylittleme

I think Walker can lose, Corbett will lose and if so, three major swing states go back to Dems.

adlib 7 days ago

Just before the 2016 Presidential elections.

adlib 7 days ago

What’s up peopleoids?

killgoretrout

Hey KT!

adlib 7 days ago

Oops…did you already say that, funk?

kesmarn

Hey KT!

beatlex

funk Christ s saying he swith from repub and will go with the progressive agenda esp for seniors. He has my vote.

Harleigh

Hey, Homie! How’s your Labor Day weekend starting out?

kesmarn

Harleigh–I lived in FL when Crist was guv, and even though he was a republican then, he acted more like a Dem, which is why I voted for him then. That was back in the day when there were still some sane republicans.

glenn

Hey B!, glenn, slm,Harleigh Homie Murph, funk and PPO!

killgoretrout

PPO in the house!

adlib 7 days ago

Do I see Melbourne clocking in there?

kesmarn

PPO….good to see you..the house is filling up nicely.

murphthesurf3

hey ppo

sillylittleme

Hey, Y’all . Great to see you. Yes looking good

pinkpantheroz

Hi Pink

funksands

PPO–g’day mate!

glenn

I started calling Scott Skeletor at the old HP within months of his election.

Harleigh

Pretty good Homie. I’m getting ready to fly to Boston on Tuesday!

killgoretrout

glenn – I don’t see what winning message Scott has and if GOTV is really handled well by Dems, especially in the black community after Trayvon and SYG being supported by Scott, I think he loses.

adlib 7 days ago

Wow! Full House.

pinkpantheroz

Oh, back “on duty,” Homie? Wishing you all the best with your mom.

kesmarn

Hey OZ!!

beatlex

Yeah. Back “on duty.”

killgoretrout

PPO – I think the new decor of Vox helps!

adlib 7 days ago

Murph, that is really cool site. I’d forgotten about it.

funksands

kt – how long will you be on the cape?

sillylittleme

KT – How is your mom doing?

adlib 7 days ago

Harleigh, is that your mug?

killgoretrout

Okay, folks, here is a complete change of subject–this one is especially for you, KT, but I’ll take advice from anyone. If you had only a week to visit the New England area, where would you go and what would you do?

glenn

KT it’s me! LOL

Harleigh

Funk…that site would be right up your alley I think. It is a bit over my head.

murphthesurf3

Absolutely, Ad. this format and layout is great

pinkpantheroz

glenn – I’d head to Vermont and go hiking

sillylittleme

Go swim with the sharks Glenn!

beatlex

Mom’s doing great. She needs a driver though! I’m not sure slm. Several months, at least, maybe more.

killgoretrout

Good question glenn, I’m truing to talk the missus into taking the kids there next year

funksands

I’d go to the Concord, MA area, glenn, because I’m such a nerd that I love visiting places where Thoreau, Emerson et all hung out.

kesmarn

Besides, it’s pretty there.

kesmarn

Homie, I used to live in Woburn. A stones throw away from Concord. I’ve been to Walden, many times.

killgoretrout

kes – two hours max and you’re done

sillylittleme

Noooooo! SLM! Nerds like me can spend DAYS there!

kesmarn

I’m SO envious, KT. Wish I could live there.

kesmarn

Beatlex–thanks for the suggestion, but I swam with the sharks in the Keys, and that was enough. Unless of course, I’m sitting low in my seat, and misunderstood your meaning of “swim with the sharks.”

glenn

kes – seriously how long can one spend at the alcott house? and fyi, walden isn’t as nice as you imagine

sillylittleme

I think I’d go to Maine and eat lobster and NH to get a few gallons of real maple syrup.

Harleigh

It is beautiful there. Mass is a very beautiful state. Expensive too!

killgoretrout

I’ve been to Walden, SLM. And granted — it isn’t quite the way it was in Thoreau’s day — I was still drooling with hero worship at the Shrine! But that’s just me…

kesmarn

Swimming with the sharks is being in congress.

killgoretrout

I’ve been to Boston once. That’s the extent of my experience with New England. I feel like I”m missing out.

funksands

kes – when I was growing up it was a place to go get laid, enough said?

sillylittleme

It’s fun, funk. I lived in CT for 5 years and traveled a lot in NE. Pricey, though.

kesmarn

funk, it’s where it all began. Well, one of the main places anyhoo.

killgoretrout

My mother lives on Harvard square in her condo and my sister is in Bedford. Have not been there in decades.

Harleigh

Funk–you’re ahead of me. Never been to the area at all. My travel goals for this and the coming year are to visit places in the US that I’ve never seen.

glenn

funk – wanna trade? I wanna be in the Pacific Northwest!!!

sillylittleme

Talking about Congress, is anyone else getting the feeling that they’ve seen their high point in polls already and now it’s just downhill as they spout their RW lunacy and not just draft on Obama’s difficult decisions?

adlib 7 days ago

Seriously, SLM? I’m crushed. Although Thoreau might appreciate the irony…

kesmarn

That is, Repubs have seen their high point.

adlib 7 days ago

kes – I sure hope so smiling_imp

sillylittleme

Ad–repubs “high points” being…?

glenn

I’m reading a great book about trees right now: American Canopy. One of the chapters is about Thoreau and Walden. Apparently it was the only place for miles that had any trees left, they’d all been cut down. Also only a 30 minute walk to town. Not roughing it thats for sure

funksands

slm, if you like lots of rain, that’s the place to be. It starts around Halloween and doesn’t let up until Easter. It is beautiful though. Real Mountains there.

killgoretrout

Ad…..my own Congresman…older, GOP, been in the job a while….saw him last week….he knows me…only comment “What I would give for some real leadership on the Hill!”

murphthesurf3

There’s not much room for downhill on ratings when you start at 13%

kesmarn

AdLib,lets hope so,the thought of them controlling both houses is a grizzly thought

beatlex

Ad, it’s been remarkably quiet. I’m sensing a lot of uncertainty about how to proceed.

funksands

kt – I’ve been to Seattle a couple of times and I’d trade Boston for there any day. And I love the rain!

sillylittleme

glenn – In the polls, that is. I think that now that Repubs start courting their RW base, their negatives will rise. Look at Mitvch McConnell’s top guy quitting over a scandal!

adlib 7 days ago

I used to sell loose joints in Havard Square.

killgoretrout

Henry David probably didn’t have wifi, funk. True.

kesmarn

I went to a “Open House” that is a town hall on the Congressman’s own turf, his office has a large meeting room. No one was happy. No one.

murphthesurf3

What were they saying, Murph?

kesmarn

I may end up moving to Vancouver WA. Nice place.

killgoretrout

Silly I absolutely love where I live. Couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. The black depression and suicidal thoughts pass pretty quickly. Plus, we’ll be the only place in the country with any water in about 20 years

funksands

Murph–it’s a “throw the bums out” mentality, I think.

glenn

adl HAHAHA Mcturtle scandal. How fucking stupid is this one??

Harleigh

Funk – Maybe so up till this point but if Repubs want their base to turn out, they’ll have to spout nastiness and that will turn off indies.

adlib 7 days ago

Harleigh – he is so arrogant

sillylittleme

Ad, feels like a volcano slowly building.

funksands

ad – which is only good for us

sillylittleme

Kes…all over the place…that is what led to the comment to this…. Ad…..my own Congresman…older, GOP, been in the job a while….saw him last week….he knows me…only comment “What I would give for some real leadership on the Hill!”

murphthesurf3

Ad–didn’t read the article, but saw the healine that foxsocallednews is trying to revive Benghazi! Distraction from Ferguson, I guess.

glenn

Speaking of mugs, have you all seen Rick Perry’s mugshot?

killgoretrout

McConnell is being Mitch slapped.

adlib 7 days ago

LOL AD!

beatlex

I did, KT. His mouth was smiling but his eyes were shooting death rays.

kesmarn

silly I almost hate mcconnel he’s such a condescending asshole.

Harleigh

That prick actually had a shit eating grin on his face.

killgoretrout

Oh I hate him

funksands

Ad–hope mcconnell is mitch slapped from here to November, and then goes home!

glenn

😆 Homie! True.

killgoretrout

kt – he will be eating shit

sillylittleme

Nothing is going to happen to Perry. He’ll treat this like he just won his right-wing gang colors

funksands

Those covertly recorded comment at the Koch-fest aren’t going to do Mitch any good.

kesmarn

Murph – Saw that, I’m sure those Repubs who don’t want to bow down to the moron Baggers really pray for salvation…or something to keep them from having to sound like fellow morons. But that ain’t gonna happen.

adlib 7 days ago

You have all heard this: http://www.nytimes.com/2014/08/28/us/politics/on-tape-mcconnell-envisions-using-budget-to-undo-obama-initiatives.html?_r=0

murphthesurf3

kes…jinx

murphthesurf3

Mitch has had his “49%’ moment,I would love to see that old fart lose!

beatlex

That’s what I was referring to, Murph.

kesmarn

jinx indeed!

kesmarn

I think the GOP is behind Perry’s indictment. They really don’t want any more embarrassment with him in the 2016 race.

killgoretrout

All–you know what I don’t understand? Why doesn’t the twice, duly-elected President of the United States get to enact his agenda? Why is it only the repubs who are “entitled” to enact their agena?

glenn

glenn – Benghazi? Really? Great, go for it Repubs! Why not go after Jimmy Carter’s Presidency while you’re at it?

adlib 7 days ago

KT….the indictment is coming from GOP authorities…your idea is not far fetched.

murphthesurf3

I think they are going to run on Obama’s suit.

funksands

And Perry is so dumb. He doesn’t even know what he was indicted for. Said it was “bribery.” Either that or he’s confessing to yet another felony!

kesmarn

Ad–here in GA, they are going after Carter’s presidency since his grandson is running for gov.

glenn

funk – lol

sillylittleme

If I were a repub, I wouldn’t want him in the race either. wink

killgoretrout

kes – he’s an idiot

sillylittleme

Kes–how dare you call Perry dumb? He has the glasses to prove he’s “smart”.

glenn

Exactly Homie. He really does make W. look smart.

killgoretrout

People in TX call him “Bush without the brain.”

kesmarn

glenn – Sounds pretty desperate to me, trying to use the Presidency of 35 years ago as a pressing issue? Huh?

adlib 7 days ago

ALL baggers are dumb. Never give a sucker an even break! In 2009 The Koch brothers through Dick Armey and his Freedumbwerks front created the Astro-turf Teabaggers. I’ve concluded that all Teabaggers are Koch’s suckers in an Army of Dick’s.

Harleigh

kt – that applies to all repubs

sillylittleme

Oh that’s sad Homie! cry

killgoretrout

Kes – Maybe Rick Perry could be known as “Bush’s Tush”?

adlib 7 days ago

BIAS

killgoretrout

Well put Harleigh!

beatlex

harleigh – spot on

sillylittleme

cry I’ll join you in that cryfest, Homie…

kesmarn

ad – lol

sillylittleme

LOL! Good one, AdLib!

kesmarn

Ad, I hear that

pinkpantheroz

Benghazi revival is in the hands of Howdy Gowdy. He’ll be back to benghazi after recess.

Harleigh

BIAS is Back In A Sec!

killgoretrout

oops! Perry had a rectum transplant and it rejected him!

pinkpantheroz

pink – funny

sillylittleme

Ad, well, the definition of “conservative”is never changing. That’s their “schtick” and they’re sticking with it. Another ad running here in GA is one I particularly like. It asks, “Michelle Nunn, Obama’s rubber stamp in the Senate?” Personally, I would vote for Nunn on that alone. I think it’s about time President Obama had a “rubber stamp” in Congress!

glenn

LOL OZ,Perry is a putz

beatlex

Harleigh, yep, Baggers were a corporately bought “revolution” intended to exploit angry idiots to take government away from the majority.

adlib 7 days ago

PPO! Too funny. I thought he had a cranial/rectal inversion!

killgoretrout

glenn – hear hear

sillylittleme

KT, That didn’t work either!

pinkpantheroz

Is that why his looking out at the world through his navel, Homie?

kesmarn

You guys are POSITIVELY GIDDY tonight….the new format is rareified

murphthesurf3

Could be, Homie.

killgoretrout

glenn, we could use a lot more Obama rubber stamps in Congress.

kesmarn

Murph, it’s brilliant, isn’t it?, but a tad quick for my aging eyes!

pinkpantheroz

Many of you may not have heard that Perry and Gohmert were conjoined twins at birth and joined at the haid. When they were separated each got half a brain but Perry got all the hair.

Harleigh

I thought Repubs like rubber stamps, they all vote the same like them.

adlib 7 days ago

What’s funny about Congressional deadlock is that its given the executive branch all of the power to decide how to administer the nation’s business

funksands

HA! Harleigh

beatlex

He is sort of hairbrained!

killgoretrout

ad – only their rubber stamps

sillylittleme

kt – good one

sillylittleme

smile Good one, Harleigh!

adlib 7 days ago

Kes–ain’t that the truth? More rubber stamps for President Obama!

glenn

Right funk, and they they accuse the Executive of tyranny!

kesmarn

Harleigh, Gohmert gets the macrame Constitution in that divorce

funksands

PPO ….roadrunner like…yes.

murphthesurf3

What I want to know is will Rick Perry wear his glasses in jail?

adlib 7 days ago

kes – they should all be tried for treason

sillylittleme

SLM, they really should.

kesmarn

Ad, yes, he’ll need to to se Bubba coming!

pinkpantheroz

How serious is the Perry business?

murphthesurf3

ad – probably thinks it

sillylittleme

Sadly Ad, he’ll never even see the jail! If he does, it will be a country club prison.

killgoretrout

slm – It is treason, sabotaging the U.S. government and harming its citizens. It’s also called being a Republican.

adlib 7 days ago

Silly, I’d settle for electoral consequences. The American People aren’t cooperating yet

funksands

He’d better wear those glasses in the shower…

kesmarn

‘ll keep him from being beaten up

sillylittleme

ahhh this goes too fast

sillylittleme

Kes, I’m glad you said it. Not sure where everyone here stood on prison rape

funksands

Did you see where Obama made oil tanker disappear in the gulf with millions of barrels of oil?

Harleigh

slm…that is because we are going so fast right now

murphthesurf3

I’m against it FYI

funksands

Speaking of treason, did y’all see that fox bimbo who wants Putin to be president for 48 hours?

glenn

funk – he wouldn’t be going in to gen pop

sillylittleme

SLM, you can extend the box using the little arrow under the smiley.

pinkpantheroz

The old line about not dropping the soap, funk… open_mouthpen_mouth:

kesmarn

Glenn, I saw that. She’s really special

funksands

I like the new sound. It’s more of a plop, than a pop! VOX a ploppin!

killgoretrout

Murph – I’ve seen people try to minimize the case against Perry but I think this is another MSM meme where they say what they want to happen instead of what could. They want him running in 2016, he’s good for the MSM machine’s ad sales.

adlib 7 days ago

To me, it’s kind of a “whoop!”

kesmarn

Perry in a debate is ratings gold!

funksands

pink – i did and it still scrolls fast especially when everyone comments at once

sillylittleme

Maybe a Yawp!

killgoretrout

“Yawp” is better.

kesmarn

Ad I have been told by my attorney brother in law in Tx that there is real danger in the indictment BECAUSE it is coming from GOP sources who have a pile of dirt on Perry and can introduce it as part of their case.

murphthesurf3

Thank Mr. Whitman!

killgoretrout

It’s a Qbert hop noise

funksands

I just put my sound on and it sounds more like a bloop to me

sillylittleme

Good old Walt…

kesmarn

Like a bubble popping to me

pinkpantheroz

We should have a variety of sounds. Emotisounds…

kesmarn

murph – hope they can make it stick

sillylittleme

Funk–in one sentence the fox bimbo laid bare all of the gop’s hypocrisies (sp?). 1. a foreign born citizen CAN become president. 2. No mention of Congress; the putin can act alone. 3. Let’s have a real communist, tyrant dictatior in as president, instead of the “fake” one we have in President Obama. 4. Let’s bypass the Constitution, forget about elections and “get it done right”.

glenn

It sounds like dropping a pebble into a pond.

killgoretrout

What sound does an implosion make? Gnab!

pinkpantheroz

I’m old and can’t hear shit! WHAT??? smiley_cat

Harleigh

Glenn, the dumb ones eventually start to believe their own hyperbole

funksands

Glen…do you recall the name of the bimbo in question.

murphthesurf3

I love it Homie! Sad Trombone! Rimshots!

killgoretrout

glenn – she should be wearing a white coat and in a nice rubber roon

sillylittleme

room

sillylittleme

Honk! Bleep! Buzzz!

kesmarn

glenn – Yes, saw that Fox woman wish for Putin to be our dictator. Jon Stewart showed it too, could these “patriots” be any more traitorous in their beliefs (which they are entitled to) than they already are? Rooting for a brutal, oppressive, warmongering tyrant to take over America? If anyone is still wondering how real Obama Derangement Syndrome is, this should settle that debate.

adlib 7 days ago

Splat is a good one!

killgoretrout

Great comment, glenn!

kesmarn

ad – without a doubt

sillylittleme

Murph–her name in Kimberly Guylinhall–or something like that. But I have the first name right. The first article I saw about it was on Media Matters.

glenn

Thanks to the new sounds, it’s Vox Plop-u-Li?

adlib 7 days ago

Rick Perry: “No one expects Rick Perry! My chief weapons are Fear, Surprise and…. uh…

funksands

Ad, ODS should be included in the new DSM!

killgoretrout

Ad, laughing

pinkpantheroz

Too funny funk!

killgoretrout

Gotta step away for just a bit.

funksands

I think we also need an emoticon for batshit crazy!

killgoretrout

They object to the Prez’s tan suit but that orange jumpsuit on Perry and Christie? Just 21st century campaign attire.

kesmarn

SLM–no she should be in jail for advocating treason!

glenn

glenn – she is not in her right mind

sillylittleme

KT, how about one of sarah Palin?

pinkpantheroz

Here it is… https://ringoffireradio.com/2014/08/fox-news-host-wants-putin-to-be-americas-president/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=fox-news-host-wants-putin-to-be-americas-president HEarlier this week, Fox News’ Kimberly Guilfoyle was on “The Five,” discussing the situation with the Islamic State. Responding to comments by co-host Greg Gutfeld regarding President Obama’s handling of the terrorist group, Guilfoyle said she wished Vladimir Putin or Benjamin Netanyahu could rule the US so things would be “done right.”

murphthesurf3

Oooooo! Good one PPO!

killgoretrout

I suggest Kimberly move to Russia.

kesmarn

batshit crazy = Palin – Bachmann 2016 fer jebus!

Harleigh

SLM–Oh, I disagree. She’s cray like a fox! (pun intended). And she shouldn’t be allowed on t.v. to spout her treason.

glenn

Murph, yes, Putin could show the US how to invade a previously friendly……. oh, too late

pinkpantheroz

Murph, if Putin were in charge here, Guilfoyle wouldn’t be allowed to say anything Putin didn’t approve. These people are soooo stupid.

killgoretrout

Kes – Like that! The GOP should hold a prison fashion show, Christie and Walker in orange jumpsuits and Perry in bold stripes.

adlib 7 days ago

glenn – unfortunately fox won the legal right to lie and call it news

sillylittleme

She needs to be under her own personal Iron Dome. In the desert. In AZ.

kesmarn

I can see Christie on the runway now, AdLib!

kesmarn

kt – she’d be happy to spout anyone’s propaganda

sillylittleme

Kt- anyone but Obama…that is their sacred mantra

murphthesurf3

how come they all stopped wearing those made in china merikan flag lapel pins?

Harleigh

Maybe she could get a job instructing nine year olds how to fire automatic weapons!

killgoretrout

The commentators on FOCKS are are fracking idiots, the lot of Em’ stuck_out_tongue

beatlex

I can see Christie from my house!

pinkpantheroz

harleigh – they got rusty

sillylittleme

KT–That is the saddest part about these people. They don’t even understand what they’re asking for. It’s beyond stupidity–or they know exactly what they’re doing–and that’s even worse!

glenn

ZZZZing! KT!

kesmarn

Too soon?

killgoretrout

kt – oh that was so horrible especially with an israeli weapon how unamerican

sillylittleme

slm, we could make it a MAC 10!

killgoretrout

PPO–just think how much better you could see Christie in his orange jumpsuit. I do think it should be Christie in the stripes, though. I hear they’re very slimming!

glenn

kt – that’ll do

sillylittleme

glenn – don’t the stripes go across?

sillylittleme

Do they have have orange floats in the Macy’s Day parades?

killgoretrout

Depends on whether they’re horizontal or vertical, glenn…

kesmarn

Glenn – thumbsup

pinkpantheroz

kt – mmm orange float

sillylittleme

And Christie is still going to run…well, waddle. The Repub primary is going to be truly entertaining.

adlib 7 days ago

OK…you want BATSHIT CRAZY….two towns over the city council voted to approve turning a closed bowlng alley into an indoor gun range. 7 to 0 waiving zoning rules. They will have a bar (separate entrance to abide by the law) and a snack bar and a kids place game room.

murphthesurf3

KT, naw, that’s Christie filled with hot air

pinkpantheroz

We could have a new TV comedy prison show with Cristi, Perry and Walker calle ‘My Three Bitches’.

Harleigh

murph – what could go wrong?

sillylittleme

As the phrase goes: What could possibly go wrong, Murph>

kesmarn

kes – jinx

sillylittleme

jinx, SLM!

kesmarn

Murph–I thought I lived in the land of guns. The GA legislature is debating what kind of felons should be allowed their guns back. I kid you not.

glenn

Ah yes, booze and firearms! YeeHah!

killgoretrout

harleigh – lol

sillylittleme

Murph, you’re kidding, right?

pinkpantheroz

Sabreen is in da house! What’s up lady?

killgoretrout

kt – and kids

sillylittleme

Murph – I suppose you have to thin the herd some way, if they are actually going to kill themselves off…well…

adlib 7 days ago

The Bowling Alley closed three years ago…..it is across the street from a park and its rear backs up on a school.

murphthesurf3

Harleigh–smiley

glenn

hey sabreen

sillylittleme

Sabreen! Can you post?

adlib 7 days ago

Murph, the NRA must be salivating at their product placement!

pinkpantheroz

Maybe a combined bowling alley and gun range. You have to shoot the pins down.

killgoretrout

Will young black men be allowed in the former bowling alley, Murph?

kesmarn

KT–Don’t give the any ideas! Could be kinda expensive, though, replacing all those pins.

glenn

KT, well somewhere to take the little ‘uns after school

pinkpantheroz

I was in our local watering hole two nights ago and the local loons were absolutely giggling….shooting all year round in climate controlled comfort.

murphthesurf3

Or fire bowling balls from a muzzle loader, Homie…

kesmarn

Kes- yes, maybe as targets.

murphthesurf3

Back soon, grabbing a coffee.

pinkpantheroz

That would be a BIG muzzle loader, Homie!

killgoretrout

PPO/KT–They could have an after-school program, and the kids could get some extra-curricular credit.

glenn

After Ferguson, nothing would surprise me…

kesmarn

kes – ain’t that the truth

sillylittleme

Hi everyone. I’m trying to navigate the chat. The scroll bar seems to be giving me some difficulty. Anyhoo, I hope everyone is well.

sabreen60

Hey, Sabreen, good to see you!

kesmarn

Hey Sabreen

glenn

Sabreen..greetings…you will acclimatize…

murphthesurf3

Hey Sabreen!

beatlex

Folks, looks like my time is getting cut short. Sorry I can’t stay longer. Looking forward to seeing you all more soon.

funksands

So long funk.

murphthesurf3

funk – crimea?

sillylittleme

See you later, funk!

kesmarn

Funk–sorry to see you go. Take care.

glenn

nite funk

sillylittleme

Later funk. Glad you could join us.

killgoretrout

Sabreen! What’s going on with the scrolling? It does leap up when comments are posted, I will discuss that with the developers.

adlib 7 days ago

later funk

Harleigh

Before we all head south for winter, can I congratulate AdLib, Kalima and the crew for this new, brilliant Vox. Well done, all of you.

pinkpantheroz

Gee Funk I arrive and you leave, but I’m not taking it personally smiley

sabreen60

Night Funk!

beatlex

Seeya Funk!

adlib 7 days ago

PPO–Hear, hear!

glenn

pink – second that

sillylittleme

{{{(((APPLAUSE)))}}}

Harleigh

Cheers PPO! Kalima and I thank you for your props, we’re working every day to make The Planet better and better!

adlib 7 days ago

Cheers all!

adlib 7 days ago

Can I get a resounding PLOP?

killgoretrout

plop

sillylittleme

KT – Heh! smile

adlib 7 days ago

AL – HOW DO I CHANGE MY PIC ON THE PLANET HOME PAge… ooopppps

Harleigh

….Last week we were in despair…..but sticktoitiveness won the day….Planetary Virtue

murphthesurf3

Adlib, I just have to use a very light touch with the mouse. You know who how everything will turn blue as though you’ve blocked it for cut and paste….

sabreen60

Gravatar Harleigh!

killgoretrout

Harleigh – Go to gravatar.com and login under the same email address you used to set up your account here. Upload your new avatar there and that’s it!

adlib 7 days ago

KT I did and it only changed my av here. LOL

Harleigh

Huh!

killgoretrout

harleigh – logout and login again

sillylittleme

OK… brb

Harleigh

I know when I’ve changed pix on gravatar sometimes it would take a day or so before they’d show up on the Planet…

kesmarn

Murph – It was a bit discouraging last week, this new chat was working so well for many but not for others, which would have been a deal killer. Now, it’s seem to have worked out!

adlib 7 days ago

Kes – Yes, we use an avatar caching system (along with other caching) to speed up the display of pages so that can delay new avatars from being displayed.

adlib 7 days ago

harleigh – did it work?

sillylittleme

Ad, that wasn’t your fault. Some of us had old software no longer supported by new stuff, but it’s fine now.

pinkpantheroz

But the new ones always did appear then.

kesmarn

Ad- yes….getting everybody on board during the week to play with it gave us the chance to figure out how it really works. Typical of so much soft ware…lack of clarity and direction.

murphthesurf3

oh st is here!!!!!

sillylittleme

Yep, there’s always a transition period with new systems, just glad that this worked out after the one that didn’t a couple of weeks ago.

adlib 7 days ago

KT, that video you posted about the 28 year old father who was arrested for sitting in a public area waiting for his kids to get out of school was a shocker.

kesmarn

SLM not yet

Harleigh

harleigh – sorry here’s another doobie

sillylittleme

Kes–I saw that on another site and it just blew my mind! I hope he sues the police department for false arrest, since they have now dropped the charges.

glenn

Kes…the police as occupying force in post 9-11 world

murphthesurf3

So, do you think that the institutionalized racism and militirization of police will continue to move people or will they lose interest and leave all that in place?

adlib 7 days ago

thx slm

Harleigh

glenn, agreed! He needs to sue!

kesmarn

Homie, I could actually feel that guys despair and helplessness. He was calling out for genuine human beings to help him. Thank goodness those bastards didn’t shoot him. So disgraceful of those cops.

killgoretrout

Glenn…..the law is stacked to give the police plenty of cover…suspicion of….is a huge umbrella.

murphthesurf3

ad – that is such a sad question to have ti ask

sillylittleme

Ad–I hope more and more black people will share their stories and/or videos to keep the heat on the heat.

glenn

to

sillylittleme

Ad Lib..our national attention span is that of a chihuaha on uppers.

murphthesurf3

slm – Ferguson SHOULD be a rallying cry that more and more Americans join in on but I’m concerned that people are already starting to move on.

adlib 7 days ago

Right, Murph. If this guy hadn’t had his cell phone with him, the story would have been buried.

kesmarn

We cannot let these incidents slide into the dustbin of American history, like so many other appalling things that are news for a week or two, then gone from the public forum.

killgoretrout

Murph–but they never said what he was suspected of.

glenn

Part of the GOP strategy is to keep tossing balls in the air…look, look, look, look, look

murphthesurf3

And collective memories.

killgoretrout

ad – no we have to stay positive and vigilant

sillylittleme

Right. We need to keep the spotlight on every incident like this until things are dealt with.

kesmarn

Squirrel!

killgoretrout

glenn, he was suspected of being black in an all white zone!

killgoretrout

Glenn…disorderly conduct, failure to abide by a lawful order, suspicious demeanor….

murphthesurf3

Glenn…standing around while Negro

murphthesurf3

Adlib, My avatar is on Gravatar, but it’s not showing here??

sabreen60

murph – what is suspicious demeanor?

sillylittleme

Question: when a cop asked you for ID, are you legally required to show it? If you’re not driving that is?

kesmarn

Murph–how can you charge disorderly condut when he was just sitting there?

glenn

SLM–suspicious demeanor=black

glenn

glenn – we have to be better than that

sillylittleme

SLM You know….slouching, shfty eyes, being dark skinned

murphthesurf3

murph – where are the better angels?

sillylittleme

Kes- if you do not produce an id they can continue questioning you for cause.

murphthesurf3

Kes–According to what I’ve read–no you are not required to show ID unless the cop has a reason to ask for it.

glenn

Homie, not without probable cause. The fourth amendment says “reasonable,” search and seizure. There was no good reason in this case for law enforcement to accost a man who was doing absolutely nothing wrong.

killgoretrout

Think about all the outrages that Americans just let slide. Trayvon Martin, Sandy Hook, Climate Change caused major droughts and natural disasters, Gabby Giffords, on and on. Are people just too seduced, oppressed, distracted and/or pacified by corporations that they just won’t rally together and stand strong for any period of time to force change or do things need to get really horrible first before they will?

adlib 7 days ago

SLM–You’re right–we have to be better than that, but so far we are not.

glenn

Glenn…it does not matter what he was actually doing….it is what they say he was doing.

murphthesurf3

So this guy was totally within his rights to refuse to give his name? I was thinking he would have been.

kesmarn

No Murph, not according to the 4th amendment. They need probable cause to even ask for ID.

killgoretrout

Ad…all of the above plus distracted, narcissistic, self absorbed, disconnected.

murphthesurf3

I saw part of a video (Georgia I think) and the cop’s dash cam showed the cops screaming at this guy to stop grabbing for his gun and the guy was standing there with his hands up in the air.

sabreen60

America is so divided AdLib,that’s what people are focused on IMO

beatlex

Good lord…!

kesmarn

KT….the police I spoke to about this scoff, yes scoff, at the 4th amendment….

murphthesurf3

Sabreen–and this is how cops get away with shooting; they say they were “threatened”.

glenn

He was Homie! Absolutely. Despite what many cops think, this is not 1930s Germany!

killgoretrout

Maybe those CopCams will tone it down a bit.

pinkpantheroz

“He went for my gun!”

beatlex

Sabreen, you have to additionally add your avatar to this chat system. Click on the three line icon in the upper right of this window then click on your name then generic avatar and the upload box will open.

adlib 7 days ago

Murph, I’m not surprised.

killgoretrout

kt – well the powers that don’t want any progress think it is

sillylittleme

PPO, I’m hoping they are universally required. Cop-cams.

kesmarn

kes – that is the best option

sillylittleme

A local sheriff I know is really pushing for the funding for two officers in every car…studies show that police teams act better than solos…the fear factor.

murphthesurf3

Cop cams MUST be mandatory for any police officer that deals directly with the public. They MUST be made mandatory. The police have proved, time and again, that they can’t even police themselves!

killgoretrout

Kes–I was reading an article about cop cams which says that we also need the burden of proof on the cops to prove what they’re saying, “just in case” those cop cams get lost. IOW, when the cop cams are altered or lost, the cops have to prove thier case–not the defendant.

sillylittleme

Murph, 2 cops/car is a good idea, unless they’re both dicks! Notice, when the’Cops’ show is around, eveyone is SO polite. sad about the unit cameraman, though. At least we know it wasn’t the perp who shot him.

pinkpantheroz

KT – I ahree, cop cams would be a great antidote to the outrageous violations of citizen and especially minorities’ civil rights.

adlib 7 days ago

glenn, I think tampering with or failure to turn a camera on should be a firing offense. You mess with the cam, you get canned! No ifs, ands or buts.

killgoretrout

A few years ago, I was pulled over after work (late — about midnight) for a tail light that was out. The cop started asking me all sorts of questions: Where are you going? etc. I said “home.” And he responded: “Then why are you traveling in the opposite direction of what’s on your license?” I explained about the cottage. Then I kicked myself later for having answered his questions!

SLM–no, I”m sorry. I was going to google it tonight before I came to VOX, but I forgot. I’m sure one of our esteemed planeteers can find it. Given enough time, I could probably find it, too. If I do, I’ll post it on “regular” PPOV.

sillylittleme

Homie, you probably did the right thing, but I know it must have galled you. They have no business demanding your destination.

killgoretrout

KT–I agree wholeheartedly. Cops should have to follow the law to the letter, and then some. They should not be above the law.

glenn

glenn, I think it should be the law that if the cop cam is lost or not recording, the cop is officially off the clock and won’t get paid for that time.

kesmarn

Great idea Homie!

killgoretrout

Harleigh, you nailed it!

sillylittleme

Isn’t it such a shame that it needs a CopCam to change behavior and attitude.

pinkpantheroz

Cams are really the only way to hold cops accountable for their behavior.

killgoretrout

Then again, we could pay Vloggers less than a second cop to ride along and video him.

Kes–When I lived in FL, years ago, there was a rash of cops stopping women for no reason and doing “suspicious” things to them. I was stopped about 10 at night after coming home from a class for having only headlight. Didn’t know I only had one–and it was on a dark, deserted stretch of highway. I got asked the same questions, but decided it was better to answer than to argue and get pulled out of my car. But, my heart was beating a mile a minute, and I was extremely frightened.

glenn

Kes- I was pulled over two months ago – I went through a light that went red just as I passed through it….the town is a notorious trap. The officer was so matter of fact that it told me he was certain that I wouldjust pay the fine by mail I told him that I needed his badge number and car license for my record and it would be helpful if were to icude them on the ticket so I could refer to them in court. I also asked how I can get access to the traffic video record. He looked at me, paused and then aid, be careful and wnet back to his car. I suspect he realized I would actually show up in court and maybe with an attorney and that was too much trouble.

there was a sort of gunfight in orlando today you all will enjoy! So brave Ofc Sanguino fires nine rounds at a alleged perp with an empty gun in an exchange of gunfire, kills a bystander and manages to shoot another cop!!?? While his intended target survived!!! LMAO this is a scene for Reno 911or Police Squad. Bet he gets a medal for valor AND marksmanship. Beahaha florid uh strikes again.

murphthesurf3

B, I think all cops at police acadamies should have to take a battery of psych tests before they are ever given a gun.

killgoretrout

Kes and glenn, those are scary situations. It sure makes it clear why so many people allow cops to violate their rights, because it’s scarier to stand up to them and not know what could happen. That’s not good for a democracy, fear destroys democracies.

Police Kill Woman, Charge Man They Were Trying To Shoot With Murder
The man who police were trying to shoot when they killed an innocent bystander is now charged with her murder. Police responded to Vixen Bar in Orlando, Florida, on Aug. 19 after a 911 caller told them a “gun wielding maniac” was in the …

Harleigh

kt – that’s right, can’t believe they don’t have psych tests

sillylittleme

Harleigh–don’t know where it was, but I do think it was Florida. Cops got into a gunfight with a perp, shot and killed an innocent bystander, and charged the perp with murder.

glenn

Murph, I want to add — I’m not faulting you for what you did/said! Just wondering how it would have played out if you’d been a minority person.

kesmarn

Kes- it would have been trouble. I have an older car which I share with several others, part of the coop. But, I have a very studied manner and that always help.

murphthesurf3

that’s the one glenn! except the perp had no bullets!!! bwahahaha

Harleigh

Some of these stories are just incredible!

kesmarn

Harleigh–so we WERE talking about the same thing.

glenn

Harleigh….the police create the mayhem but are not held accountable for it.

murphthesurf3

Murph – Yes, that’s also on my list. They already said that they would add the ability to embed graphics (oddly, you can’t do that right now).

glenn

And then there’s the case where the guy in the back of the police car was said (by the cops) to have committed suicide. With his hands cuffed behind his back. They said he shot himself in the back. But the coroner said the gunshot wound entered the chest. Hmmmm….

kesmarn

sillylittleme

At any moment any one of us could be living in a totalitarian police state.

murphthesurf3

SLM–agreed.

glenn

murph – aren’t we already to a certain extent

sillylittleme

Hey Murph, we already have been, for a few decades now. Not so you’d really notice though!

killgoretrout

kes, I couldn’t believe that – absolutely batshitcrazy. But then the coroner said that the guy some kind of body ( I forget the term) that enabled him to shoot himself in the chest while his hands were cuffed behind his back!

sabreen60

Murph–that’s what scares me.

glenn

I see we don’t have red underlines for spell check. I’m in trouble.

sabreen60

Sabreen, don’t you have to wonder how they expect anyone to believe that? I mean, really…

kesmarn

Sabreen–please tell me the coroner didn’t say that.

glenn

Perhaps I should amend my statement to read: At any moment we could become aware that we live in a police state.

murphthesurf3

Murph – With a dishonest, militarized police force networked around the nation, all that would be needed is a terrorist act (multiple ones coordinated like 9/11 would be even more effective) that can be used as a pretext for enforcing a kind of totalitarian martial law and with aa RW President in office, that sure could happen.

adlib 7 days ago

KT–I think people are beginning to notice now.

glenn

Sabreen, That was simply horrible. How do these maniacs think they can get away with such bullshit? Do they think everybody else is a stupid as they are?

killgoretrout

They already have an umbrella organization for that networked, militarized force, too: Oath Keepers.

kesmarn

I surely hope so glenn. I surely hope so. Our founding fathers are spinning wildly in their graves!

killgoretrout

yeah, glenn. The word started with a “h”. I’ll do a little research.

sabreen60

Academi too, SLM!

kesmarn

Kes – Yep, that’s pretty scary too! Oath Keepers, Militias and gun nuts, all they need is a sympathetic federal government and taking over parts of the US, as they did in NV with that deadbeat racist, Cliven Bundy, could happen in various places around the country.

adlib 7 days ago

Nevertheless, Dr. Carl Ditch wrote in the report that White was capable of firing the shot while cuffed “due to his body habitus” and has agreed to rule the death a suicide.

http://rt.com/usa/182932-victor-white-coroner-report/

Coroner says man fatally shot himself in the chest while handcuffed behind his back
The release of an autopsy report in Louisiana is raising new questions about the unusual shooting death of a 22-year-old black male who died earlier this year in a police car while his hands were cuffed behind his back.

sabreen60

KT–Was it whitman who said “not with a bang but with a whimper?” If we don’t start speaking up, then I’m afraid it will be with a bang, followed by a whimper of “what happened?”

glenn

Remember the scene in Ferguson where the police officer was pointing his semi auto at one person after another in the crowd saying he was going to kill them…another officer intervened. He was suspended. They announced today that he would be getting counseling and retraining. When the announcement came out the outcry was tremendous FROM THE PRESS who ambushed every public office they could get their hands on…tonight the decision is being reconidered.

killgoretrout

ALL….one of the barely reported events from last week in Ferguson was the letter sent from several members of Congress who were active in the civil right movements, heroically active. They made it clear that their tactics were hurting them. Morning marches, afternoon planning and rest, and then a rally before a later dinner…then home. That spurred the community leaders to develop a stronger poition on those who were the source of the disorder (that left the police to handle their own)

murphthesurf3

slm – All people are flawed, what made them and the few others like them in history so powerful was their humanity. And being flawed is part of that. Imperfection is fine, self-sacrifice and moral leadership is needed to be exemplified.

adlib 7 days ago

Well, folks, it’s time for me to turn in. I hope everyone has a very nice Labor Day weekend. And, for those of you who asked about two months ago, I am still working on my memories of Iran. I had to let it go for a while, because while they are great memories; they are memories that made me a little “raw”. I think I’m better now, so I’m going to continue working on it. It still may take a while, though, because I also feel it may be a “frivolous” post with all that is going on nowadays. Thanks for all the advice on the Cape/New England area. kes, my husband who has never been arrested said that one night (before we were married) he was stopped by the police, thrown up against the car and the cop was pointing his gun at him. Hubby says you have no idea how it feels to have a gun pointed at you by someone in authority until you experience it.

Hillary is telegraphing how she will abandon Progressives to lure Republicans to vote for her, she’s using a General Election campaign leading up to the Dem Primary and I think it’s going to hurt her big time.

PPO – My point is that someone would have to be open to voting for a Repub to support many of Hillary’s positions.

adlib 7 days ago

pinkpantheroz

Harleigh, yes, I saw it, but until that speech, who knew about him?

pinkpantheroz

I was close to the ground floor of the Obama 2008 campaign. I know for a fact that the plan was to trot Barack around a bit to get his name known at a little different level than it wa from his Convetnion speech. Then he would run seriously in 2012 taking on Hillary or in 2016….the emptiness of her candiacy changed all of that.

murphthesurf3

PPO – I think that’s how the MSM is portraying it but if they’re so right, 2008 would have been a battle between Hillary and Rudy Giuliani.

adlib 7 days ago

well I gotta go. see y’all next week same bat time…

Harleigh

Murph, that’s what I worry about – the emptiness of her previous candidacy. she shouldn’t run at all and back a newbie, or Joe, God Love him!

More conventional thinking from pundits, “Obama can’t be re-elected if unemployment isn’t below 7%.” “America’s not ready to elect a black President.” “Hillary is a shoe in to win the Dem primary in 2008, none of the other candidates is strong enough.” Don’t believe the MSM memes, they’re trying to sell Hillary as inevitable but they’re usually wrong if you look abck at their previous conclusions.

Seeya Harleigh! Have a great holiday weekend!

adlib 7 days ago

Murph and PPO – It does seem to make Vox even more enjoyable. It’s nice when things work out!

adlib 7 days ago

Well, I’d better get going on my afternoon chores. Take care, everybody

Ad, Chuck Todd, the “new” host of MTP (Gregory with more stats in his head)….was on that Hillary’s got it recitation this morning.

Take care, PPO! Have a great rest of your day!

Night, or day, to you PPO.

Well, Ad…the frustrations of the first of the week did result in a good finish.

Chuck Todd, the guy who claims it’s not the job of the press to correct lies, that guy?

adlib 7 days ago

Murph – Appreciate your help in the beta testing of this system! Indeed, it didn’t look as likely earlier in the week, very pleased it’s all worked out.

adlib 7 days ago

Yes Ad, that guy….I read today that NBC has to have people like Gregory or Todd or they will be able to book from the right side of the continuum. I suspect this is so which makes me really ditrust Todd.

Ad…my pleasure as well. I am doing a lot of work with the founders of a new site called Yabberz and have been posting thumbnail links to our tuff over there as well.

murphthesurf3

And I am still in contact with HP…..interesting.

murphthesurf3

Murph – Yeah, maybe he’ll be able to get John McCain or Lindsay Graham on the show! Same old hack Repub guests, another hack host but less and less viewers which is the real problem. I can’t think of anyone who will watch that show now because of Todd. Watch, ratings will be flat then continue downward.

adlib 7 days ago

You’ll have to fill me in on what’s going on there.

adlib 7 days ago

Ad…from your lips to the rating gods ears.

murphthesurf3

Murph – Just seems logical. Another lousy hack hosting a show that will continue being a shill for Repubs. Why should its course change?

adlib 7 days ago

Happy to do so….a very unique model at Yabberz…and HP is discovering that while is numbers are up, its quality is way down and that is a point of hame for them (because it used to be a point of pride to be a site of high level discourse)

murphthesurf3

The HPRefugees came after me again in e mail…..I sent them the stats I had on them…and that seems to have silenced them.

murphthesurf3

Well, we knew that would happen. When you farm out the commenting to Facebook, you lose the loyal devotees who were the most prodigious and thought provoking. The only thing worse would have been farming it out to Twitter.

adlib 7 days ago

Heh! I’m sure they didn’t like having to face reality! BTW, I guarantee you their numbers have dropped bigger since then.

adlib 7 days ago

FB commenting…miserable structure and a poor platform.

murphthesurf3

HP kept moving away from conversations and simply put, if what people write isn’t worthy of conversation, it won’t be written. Why invest a lot of thought into such a disposable comment?

adlib 7 days ago

HP’s click counts are way up. The move did what they wanted in expanding the social network. They know they now look like fb in the commenting sections and apparently the powers that be are not pleaed. Oh well.

Time to slink into my cocoon…..I am going up to Ferguson tomorrow for a meeting. Fingers crossed.

Murph – A hollow but financially rewarding result. They now may be worth more financially but they are worth less in substance.

adlib 7 days ago

Good way to put it.

murphthesurf3

Good luck, Murph. Please fill us in on it tomorrow!

adlib 7 days ago

Sleep well and have a great holiday weekend, Murph!

adlib 7 days ago

I can probably refer to it but nothing specific….there is a real sense of panic in both the black and white community there about the town’s future.

murphthesurf3

I can understand that. The denial and desperation in the “I Love Ferguson” campaign doesn’t bode well for the town. If they can’t all agree there’s a problem, there’s a bigger problem.

adlib 7 days ago

Property values…that is the key and the signs are that the middle class blacks will run first.

murphthesurf3

That’s disappointing but not surprising when they’re in the middle, between denialist and some racist whites and poorer blacks who demand activist change.

adlib 7 days ago

Many of them have been through this two or three times….their experience tells them that those who run first get teh most money.

murphthesurf3

Again Murph, if it’s all about money, they could be right and have more money than those who stay to help the town they claim to support. But there’s sacrifice involved and most people who would have to, don’t seem to be willing to make sacrifices as much lately.

adlib 7 days ago

Truth. Still. How many times can people afford to be burned. Thanks for all of the hard work finding something exciting and new for the gang here at our neighborhood blog.

I get it, it’s not an easy choice but who’s going to step up for the community over themselves? Thanks for all of your help too! Always nice to be able to spruce up the joint!

cheers! sunglasses
