Tonight at 6:00 pm PST, the latest episode of “Many Psychos Flying Circus”…aka, a GOP Debate, takes place courtesy of Yahoo and ABC.
You can watch it on ABC and it should be live streaming at www.abcnews.com and yahoo.com (if we can snag an embed of the livestream, we’ll add it here).
There should be fireworks with this being Newt’s first debate as the front runner and the GOP Elite just begun its panicked attacks to knock Newt out fast and install the unlikeable Romney in his place.
See you then!
Newtmentum is real this time unfortunately.
And the problem with that is?
I am cautious not to ever be over confident, we will need to work and fight harder than we did in 2008 to assure Obama’s re-election, as if we are up against the most formidable GOP candidate possible but realistically, Newt is the antithesis of the type of candidate indies and moderates would support (most are not avid supporters of child labor and obvious, vicious lies).
IMO, if Newt is the candidate, I would be very optimistic about the Dems making a strong Congressional sweep, retaining The Senate, regaining the House and the Presidency.
Breaking News:
Romney flip flops on his bet with Perry. He now bets Perry a Rolex, a Renoir, CC dues at Augusta, a Fabergé Egg, a Bentley and a Learjet but insists he’s not an elitist because he won’t let Perry pick the color of the Learjet.
Like it, KQ!
Maybe Mitt will also bet the jobs of 10,000 Americans?
Oh he’s already made that bet and thousands of workers lost and he won millions. It was called Bain Capital.
My cable crashed along with my internet connection so I watched the 1942 version of “Gaslight” and took the trash out.
I guess I only have one question.
Did President Obama win again?
Well yes, yes he did.
Great movie!!
You were missed last night, my friend!
Considering that The GOP and the wealthy have been gaslighting the American public for decades, a very appropriate film indeed (and such a classic!).
I do think Obama was a big winner last night. Being a flip flopper who is driven to do what he thinks will best patronize the public, Mitt just doesn’t seem to be able to display any principled aggression…which seems to me to be the only approach that could blunt Newt’s appeal.
Mitt’s strategy seems quite transparent, push the buttons activating all of his surrogates to attack Newt while he dishonestly acts surprised and innocent of such attacks.
I think this strategy will only strengthen Newt as the anti-establishment candidate and that’s who Baggers want as their nom, they despise Romney and GOP Elite types who are attacking Newt.
So, as long as Mitt keeps it up, we may get the worst GOP candidate in modern history as our opponent and that works for me.

Sorry GOP Genius Panel
Yucca Mountain has seismic issues and of course it is part of
the Colorado River Water Table.
Where do we get most of our water from in So Cal?
The rock at Yucca Mountain has been affected by Earthquakes and
“gasp” nuclear weapons testing
It is not stable.
Its just that you can’t find
any state anywhere that wants it
At Any Price
Mongolia is saying NO
As it stands any where they have nuke reactor that is where
you will have a permanent highly radioactive nuclear waste dump
that you have to safely manage and maintain for tens of thousands of years
Wow, what a conservative value!
Still like that nuke power? morons?
http://www.business-mongolia.com/mongolia/2011/10/17/mongolia-abandons-nuclear-waste-storage-plans-informs-japan-of-decision/
I still like limited nuclear power. :ducks:
Obviously burying it in Yucca Mountain is dead actually been dead for a while now.
MY CLOSING THOUGHTS….
My debate rankings…
Top to Bottom….
1) Gingrich for not getting gutted. seeming to be authoritat¬ive and cool
2) Bachmann for creating strong attack lines (Newt/Romney)and seeming prepared to engage
3) Paul for ongoing consistency in (largely fringe) positions.
4) Perry for not falling asleep, not bumbling, seeming prepared, taking on a bit of economic theory
5) Santorum for not seeming too fringey in his POV and quite reasonable on the Palestine issue.
One BIG Loser: Romney. Milquetoast. Dancing around. No backbone, brittle. No fire in the belly. The hollow man.
He had one good moment re. labeling Gingrich as a foolish fire starter over Newt’s Israel/Palestine comments but could not capitalize on it.
Why didn’t Romney punch Gingrich in the gut pointing to his lost Speakership and resignation form the House?
Imagine him saying this:
“MR. GINGRICH HOW DARE YOU OFFER YOURSELF FOR PRESIDENT WHEN YOU WERE DRIVEN FROM THE SPEAKERSHIP OF THE HOUSE AND HAD TO RESIGN YOUR SEAT AS THE RESULT OF ETHICS CHARGES, YOUR CONFRONTATIONAL ENEMY MAKING STYLE, AND A GENERAL LACK OF LEADERSHIP. YOUR OWN PARTY REJECTED YOU AND MANY WHO SERVED WITH YOU HAVE EXPRESSED GRAVE CONCERNS ABOUT THIS BID FOR THE WHITE HOUSE. I JOIN THEM IN THAT CONCERN.
Not doubt the big news was that Romney lost. He’s just melting in the spotlight and worse made the biggest gaffe of the night with his $10,000. You list shows debates are not viewed in a vacuum. Romney is suppose the by the robot who does not make mistakes so for him to have the biggest gaffe is huge.
I seriously think this could be the end of Romney. Sure he will hover around 20 points with the establishment but there is serious room for someone to pass him or for Newt to explode up the charts. This is Casey Kasem. I’m out.
Reviewing four other blogger websites…..Mitt Milktoast Romney is the big loser at all four.
Night all, another losing night for the GNOPE
This tweet is hilarious
downwithtyranny Howie Klein
Apparently Obama doesn’t look that worried about the debate. Here’s a photo: pic.twitter.com/393iN7oI

I saw another like that and on the inside, I’ll bet he is enjoying this a lot more than he probably thought he would be after getting pounded in the 2010 elections.
Back calculating from this source over 11,000 lives are saved a year with 68% compliance.
Now you wonder why I find that mentality stupid. Oh that’s right we have the freedom to be stupid. 🙄
http://www.bhsbees.com/safety_stats.htm
The point is you are using a right wing tactic where you are trying to use an exception to prove the the rule.
Paul wants to end EVERY safety requirement. How you can say he’s correct in any way is just beyond me?
If you like Ron Paul’s America Somalia is a good place to go.
Nailing down the nonsense in Paul’s position with hard data. Well done.
Good job KQ, I now have the job of showing the hubby how really bad Paul is. I agree some of what he advocates is interesting but to take him at 100% is to ask to be a resident of Somalia
It’s the same right wing crap when they attack so called “political correctness”. Sure it’s easy to pick spots where political correctness is silly. But the general notion that people should be more tolerant and sensitive to others in society who are different than them holds true no matter how people cherry pick silly exceptions.
One of my favorite sites is denialism and they show how using the exception to condemn the rule is a logical fallacy that leads to denialist beliefs.
http://scienceblogs.com/denialism/
Add to that all the deaths from allowing cancer-causing substances to pollute land, air and water, tainted meat and foods poisoning people and dangerous products and vehicles killing them.
In Ron Paul’s America, job growth would decidedly be in and the critical care sections of hospitals and in the mortuary industry.
Absolutely AdLib.
I don’t mean to sound so aggressive but you can’t let that right wing argument stand.
Let’s not forget regulations create jobs and innovation. Someone has to research and develop seat belts and airbags before they are implemented and of course someone is paid to make them.
The same goes with renewable energy technology. Eventually we are going to have to replace who industries and that’s where economic growth opportunities are for the future.
On the plus side, Ron Paul seems to be the only candidate who is not marching to war with Iran.
ROMNEYS LACK OF “FIRE IN THE BELLY” IS THE STORY OF THE NIGHT…
He had one good moment re. Gingrich as a foolish firestarter over Israel/Palestine but could not capitalize on it.
Why didn’t Romney punch Gingrich in the gut with his lost Speakership and why it happened?
Imagine him saying this….”HOW DARE YOU RUN FOR PRESIDENT WHEN YOU WERE DRIVEN FROM THE SPEAKERSHIP AND FROM THE HOUSE FOR ETHICS CHARGES AND YOUR LACK OF LEADERSHIP. Your failings in your private life are one thing, but you carried that lack of integrity into the House and many of your fellow lawmakers from those days are coming forward to say you are not fit. I join them in that sentiment.”
Imagine.
Because ROmney isn’t that kind of guy and he’s trying to preserve an image that would help him in the GE with indies. But he’s never going to make it there by not ruinging his chances with them.
It’s a Catch 22. Get nasty with Newt and rip the phony smiling facade off and alienate indie voters, losing the GE. Keep trying to look cool and collected, as if he is the inevitable nom and he looks weak and lets Newt dominate.
Mitt Romney is painted into a corner which he might be able to get out of but it’s not going to be easy.
I have read that he has a fierce temper. I wonder if it is that trait that keeps him from getting in touch with the “fire” of which speak. Obama has it. So did Bush. Clinton certainly did. All to very different ends and expressed in differing form and fashion, but there….Romney, the hollow man.
Every time I watch a GOP debate I think of this song. You’ll recognize some early Michelle Bachmann and Ron Paul work in the beginning.
A GOP debate to me is like a car wreck so this clip comes to mind:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IIdGxR-aU6o
(BTW, on YouTube embeds, you don’t need to use the link below for images, just paste the url and add the “v” after “http”)
Who in the debate was driving the cop car out of the JCP store? The moderators?
The viewers! “Get us the hell outta here!”
This video clip best describes my impression of the Republican debates.
https://youtu.be/IkdMzSq2y2k
Then perhaps this will come to mind when you think about the Republican National Convention:
Well, after that debate I now need to watch a good movie. Something not a fantasy. Got enough of that with this debate. Good night to you all and thank you for letting me be part of your debate responses. They were truly more fun and a lot more interesting and knowledgable. See you tomorrow. Enjoy your evening with your love ones!
Peace Sally
I think I’ll follow her out.
Good night you crazy folks. Peace be with you.
Night AD, it was fun!
Night Sally! May I recommend, in honor of the GOP Debate, “Dumb and Dumber”?
AdLib, I am going with Water for Elephants. I have it already downloaded. Fitting?
Perfect!!!
Ron Paul 2012!!
HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!
How is that not Romney and Newt…Two Face.
Ron Paul is awesome because 50% of what he says is perfectly reasonable and the other 50% is CrazyTrain. You never know what you are gonna get.
You don’t say.
When are they going to have an actual debate?
You know, something where everyone has time to address policy issues and be as subtle or obvious as they need to be.
And then, I don’t know, actual journalists who call them on their answers and ask important follow up questions
Instead of going to the next twitter question from Duck_Fucker69.
I think when it downs to the final two, which in truth it is already but they have to give the others their time. I said earlier that I would like the moderators to have the facts in front of them before they ask the question. When the answer is given, they challenge the candidate with the facts and see how they respond.
That’s how it use to be. Actual journalists asking actual questions and demanding actual answers.
The primary stage has really gotten out of hand.
There will not be an actual debate in the GOP primary and there will only be half-real debates in the GE, when Obama discusses issues and the GOP nom doesn’t, only making up lies and attacks.
The GOP is an association of professional liars and frauds (talking only about the politicians). They can’t talk honestly about issues because they don’t really care about them, they only care about getting elected and having power and money.
You can’t get blood from a stone and you can’t get substance from a Republican.
Indeed.
