Vox Populi, our weekly live chat about the week’s events begins tonight at 7:00pm PDT. Hope to see you then! AdLib 3 hours ago

Hi glenn! AdLib 2 hours ago

Hi Ad–I see I’m a tad early. How are you? glenn 2 hours ago

Only 3 minutes. Doing okay. How are you? AdLib 2 hours ago

The weeks are spinning by pretty quickly though. AdLib 2 hours ago

Hey PPO! AdLib 2 hours ago

Hi ad, glenn pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago

About the same. Doing okay. Yes, they are. Before we know it, it will be summer. glenn 2 hours ago

Hey PPO–How goes it? How is Fergie doing? glenn 2 hours ago

I can’t believe it’s been a year of COVID already. AdLib 2 hours ago

The police killings and mass shootings are mind numbing, coming so quickly, one after the other. AdLib 2 hours ago

Yes, it’s hard to believe. Although we seem to be getting a handle on it; I fear we’ll be wearing masks for a while, thanks to the anti-vaxxers and anti-maskers. glenn 2 hours ago

glenn,, Fergie is having a lot of bother, a cascade of problems, according to the cardiologist. More doppler scans coming up for swollen legs. Taking it one problem at a time. v. thin, no appetite. but still smiling! pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago

glenn – Yes but at least most decent people will be vaccinated but we need to get the minority communities that are hesitent to get on board before the next waves and mutations come. If the Trumpers are the ones getting ill and dying for the most part, things will change one way or another. AdLib 2 hours ago

TW Hi there! pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago

Hello everyone twilson117 2 hours ago

Ad–One would think that police officers would be more cautious when dealing with black people; but it just doesn’t seem to penetrate their brains that it is even necessary. It will be really interesting to hear the closing arguments in the Chauvin trial on Monday. glenn 2 hours ago

Hey TW! AdLib 2 hours ago

Hi TW glenn 2 hours ago

AdLib, Glenn, PPO how is everyone tonight? twilson117 2 hours ago

I see Stone is being Al Caponed! Tax problems! pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago

Doing okay, TW, how about you? glenn 2 hours ago

murph! pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago

glenn – I think racism in these cops is hardwired into their brain. They don’t seem to be considering anything other than dominating and “stopping” people of color, like they’re not equally human and born as a threat. AdLib 2 hours ago

PPO couldn’t happen to a nicer guy. twilson117 2 hours ago

PPO–Hopefully, the RTLB is next with the tax evasion. glenn 2 hours ago

Hey Murph, how is the hard working farmer tonight? glenn 2 hours ago

PPO – Right now, DoJ is just suing Stone but I’ll be they’re also looking into criminal charges too. AdLib 2 hours ago

PPO..Fergie is a real trooper! What courage! MurphTheSurf3 2 hours ago

A lot of people are having the smirks wiped off their faces. Oath Keepers are squealing like little piggies to lessen their time in the joint pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago

Hey Murph twilson117 2 hours ago

Thankks, Murph. pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago

glenn…funny you should ask. The farmer is having a hard time finding able bodied folk to assist in getting the crops in. Normally, it would be college age folk but I have only gotten about half of those I need. Normally there are many more applying than there are openings. MurphTheSurf3 2 hours ago

Ad–I’m beginning to believe you’re correct. It’s just a knee-jerk reaction–see a black person–immediately see a threat! I’ve seen several videos this week where white people have had some outrageous encounters with cops that would have gotten black people killed within the first three minutes; yet the white people either get arrested without any harm, or in one case, they drive away. glenn 2 hours ago

After all the arrests and prosecutions from the insurrection, the most dangerous racists and traitors may all be in Congress. AdLib 2 hours ago

PPO–Good on Fergie, still smiling. Give her my regards, please. glenn 2 hours ago

A sheriff I know very well here…..held a “review” with his deputies in three shifts over two days in which he personally walked through all pertinent practices and procedures re. stops…..he has had ZERO incidents since his election in a county that had a bad reputation. MurphTheSurf3 2 hours ago

How can the Republicans in Congress continue with the Big Lie, racism, corruption and evasion? Why can’t they be chucked out? pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago

PPO–I know. Those oath keepers are such “profiles in courage” aren’t they? Keyboard warriors, but when it comes to standing up for their principles; the only principle they have is “every man/woman for him/herself”. glenn 2 hours ago

Hey AdLiB we had one of our freak snow storms today. Didn’t last long heavy wet stuff will be go by tomorrow. twilson117 2 hours ago

glenn – Exactly, it sure seems to be an instant recognition of “enemy who must be dominated and stopped” when these cops are so quick to shoot people of color. AdLib 2 hours ago

Murph–oh my. Is it because of COVID that you’re having problems getting help? Are the college age folk all at home? glenn an hour ago

Murph – That’s very good news. Imagine if these racist/fascist police unions stopped justifying their racist members/ AdLib an hour ago

Ad–The thing I still can’t understand is why those traitorous congress critters still get away with telling the Big Lie! glenn an hour ago

Well Murph if all other PD’s would do that things would indeed be better. twilson117 an hour ago

TW – Wow, good that it didn’t last long but the heavy wet stuff is harder to deal with, right? AdLib an hour ago

Murph–Good for your sheriff. Can’t believe he was actually elected in your neck of the woods. He sounds like a rational human being. glenn an hour ago

TW, ceratinly not if the Army keeps producing crap like we saw this week, who then become cops. pinkpantheroz an hour ago

AdLiB normally but as I said it was one of those April freak storms sun came out melted it right away. It will be gone by tomorrow. twilson117 an hour ago

Glenn….I think that people are so outside their usual lanes now that getting back into action has added challenges….so many of these young people have had a year of schooling that has largely been home based and there is a reality that there is money in the relief funds that may be filling a void that work with farmer murph usually did. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

glenn – The Repubs who gave tours of the Capitol to help the traitors prepare for 1/6 need to be indicted and convicted. AdLib an hour ago

PPO–It certainly is worrying about all those former service members who are becoming cops. They are becoming more and more right wing. glenn an hour ago

TW – Then that’s kind of cool. AdLib an hour ago

Murph–I’m sorry you’re having to probably work twice as hard. glenn an hour ago

The sheriff was a career law enforcement state trooper……when he retired he was urged to run for the office…..it took a few years to get him to do it……but his name, his rep, his personality won him the office and his performance has him keeping it. His deputies like him because his procedures/training keep them safe and protect them from mistakes. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

BTW, I had my second Moderna shot today. Aside from growing a third nipple, I feel fine. AdLib an hour ago

Ad–I agree. Let’s get them out of Congress. glenn an hour ago

I think I finally figured out how to get in!! Angela Bridgman an hour ago

Angela! Great to see you! AdLib an hour ago

Ad….I would not be worried until the third eye starts to open. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

Hi Angela…you made it! MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

Murph–glad to hear your sheriff is a good guy. glenn an hour ago

Well PPO I do have some shall we say not so favorable views of the police. I will say the training has to start at the top. But if the subordinates are inclined to bad behavior no amount of training will fix the problem. twilson117 an hour ago

I had my second COVID shot on Wednesday. I finally feel better today, but that second shot KICKED MY ASS!! Angela Bridgman an hour ago

hello Angela, nice to meet you pinkpantheroz an hour ago

Ad–I get my second vaccine on Monday. glenn an hour ago

Hi, pinkpanther. Angela Bridgman an hour ago

Hello Angela twilson117 an hour ago

Ad, can you hear Bill gates on Channel 5? pinkpantheroz an hour ago

And don’t even get me started on the cops…that is a raw nerve for me, given what I experienced at their habds as a frightened nineteen yer old trans woman…thirty years ago…the experence haunts to this day. Angela Bridgman an hour ago

Hello Angela. Nice to meet you. glenn an hour ago

Glenn…he is…and a hunter, fisher, former football player……and a believer in the old, common police motto” “To Serve and Protect” which he restored to the county police crest. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

I just got my first shot this past Tuesday. twilson117 an hour ago

Angela…which shot? MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

2nd Pfizer. Angela Bridgman an hour ago

Angela – Sorry you got knocked back by your second shot. I’m waiting to see what happens with me. Which vaccine did you get? AdLib an hour ago

Angela–So sorry to hear of your experience with cops. glenn an hour ago

Just heard AstraZenica is now linked to clotting, though very low numbers. But I can’t get Pfizer or Moderna here till next year, maybe. What can We do? pinkpantheroz an hour ago

I was VERY sore arm…within four hours of the shot…instead of just mildly sore next day with the first shot… Angela Bridgman an hour ago

and I slept 24 of 48 hours after getting the shot…my ass was kicked. Angela Bridgman an hour ago

I did have very low-grade fever, like, less than 99.5 Angela Bridgman an hour ago

That must have been so, so scary, Angela. pinkpantheroz an hour ago

TW..my sheriff friend has what he calles “regular sit downs” with his deputies in which he urges them to speak out and get ahead of their gut responses…. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

But oh my GOD…the tiredness… Angela Bridgman an hour ago

PPO – Yes, I heard Bill Gates singing in the shower, asked him if he wanted to grab a cup of coffee and if so where. He said he’ll know where I am so I can pick the place. AdLib an hour ago

Murph how big is the department? twilson117 an hour ago

Angela…I had Pfizer as well and not a bit of bother…must be my youthful 70 years. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

There’s a Vanity Fair article about how the US is prevented from sharing excess vaccine outside the US Angela Bridgman an hour ago

Angela–oh my. That’s a lot to go through. glenn an hour ago

Trump’s contracting with the Pharma’s did that. Angela Bridgman an hour ago

Anyway, Murph…I am back if y’all will have me now that Jondo is gone. Angela Bridgman an hour ago

PPO – I would wait to hear more on the AZ shot. AdLib an hour ago

I just wasn’t gonna put up with his bullshit anymore. Angela Bridgman an hour ago

Angela are you still dealing with Jondo? twilson117 an hour ago

Welcome back, Angela. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

Our Idiot P.M, Scotty from Announcements, has lied so much about supplies, he was booed at a football match by 50,000 ! pinkpantheroz an hour ago

PPO…booing…love it. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

I got three articles in mind ready to pop…one about three anti-trans bills in NC…one about three pro-LGBTQ bills in NC…and one devoted entirely to a pro-LGBTQ bill here in NC…which is very extensive, yet has a gaping hole in it. Angela Bridgman an hour ago

No, Twilson, Jondo is why I left. Angela Bridgman an hour ago

Angela…the FL anti-trans athlete bill is monstrous. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

I figured if I left for long enough Jondo would get bored and leave. Angela Bridgman an hour ago

So, Ad. Did you see where some House members introduced a bill to increase the number of Supreme Court justices? glenn an hour ago

PPO – He is such an idiot, he could be the Repub nominee for president if he was American. AdLib an hour ago

All of the anti trans athlete bills are complete bullshit. Y’all wanna know why?? Angela Bridgman an hour ago

BLOTUS 2.0 in the HAppy Clappy flesh! pinkpantheroz an hour ago

Well Angela, Jondo was indeed a complete and utter idiot. Clearly not the pride of my home city Syracuse. twilson117 an hour ago

glenn – Yes but Pelosi won’t bring it to the floor for a vote. Dems should be bold, not scared of doing too much. AdLib an hour ago

If you are born male…and, as a teen, are put on testosterone blockers…you are NOT going to get the “advantage” that being “male” would give you. Angela Bridgman an hour ago

Renee Richards played professional women’s tennis in the 1970’s and DID NOT dominate her cisgender female competitiors…in fact, she lost. Angela Bridgman an hour ago

Ad–I agree that Dems should be bold. Sometimes, Pelosi plays the “long game” a little too long. glenn an hour ago

For over ten years, the International Olympics Committee has allowed trans athletes to compete on tems that match their gender identity… Angela Bridgman an hour ago

Angela…I did not know the hormone truth until a doctor explained it to me. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

Number of medals won by trans athletes?? ZERO Angela Bridgman an hour ago

Number of trans athletes that have qualified for the final teams in any nation?? ZERO Angela Bridgman an hour ago

The empirical evidence is right there. This is nothing more than a mean-spirited attempt to ostracise and stigmatize trans youth Angela Bridgman an hour ago

Angela…I regard these bills as false flags that seem to be about one thing (fairness) but are about something else entirely (unfairness) MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

Angels, excuse my ignorance, but who or what is Jondo? pinkpantheroz an hour ago

Murph, most people do NOT know the truth…that is what the GOP counts on, and what FOX NEWS is for. Angela Bridgman an hour ago

Pinkpanther, Jondo was a giant horse’s ass that used to hang around here and harass every article I wrote. Angela Bridgman an hour ago

I felt it wasn’t fair to the admins, and I had other fish to fry, so I left for a time, hoping he would get bored and leave Angela Bridgman an hour ago

What should be a strong counter-measure is the NCAA refusing to hold their events in any state with anti-trans laws. AdLib an hour ago

Oh, OK. Never knew. I must be too new. pinkpantheroz an hour ago

glenn….I have been meaning to ask if you are hearing anything of interest re. response to the efforts of the state government to squeeze out a wide range of the “wrong kind” of voters in your state? MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

AdLib, that is not the answer…too often, boycotts hurt the very people they are intended to help. Angela Bridgman an hour ago

Ask me sometime about the effects of the boycotts in NC over HB-2 Angela Bridgman an hour ago

Ad, I’m seeing a lot of the corporations that stopped contributions to the GOP, restart, hoping no one will notice. pinkpantheroz an hour ago

What happened in NC…is that the companies least likely to discriminate against us…were the ones who left…or refused to come here. Angela Bridgman an hour ago

Angela…Jondo and I were not on good terms…..I dealt with that person on another site. I simply did not engage him here. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

They were the ones most likely to hire us and not discriminate against us Angela Bridgman an hour ago

Angela–we all know that empirical evidence is not what right-wing anti-trans lawmakers are using as their basis for these bills. You are exactly correct–they are just attempts to stigmatize trans youth. glenn an hour ago

The best successes in NC…were the artists like Cyndi Lauper and Laura Jane Grace…who came to NC anyway…and then donated all proceeds of their shows to LGBTQ charities Angela Bridgman an hour ago

Angela, we have a slow process on moderating then banning people from The Planet. Keeping it a site for free expression is important to us but when people become hostile, we work through our protocols. Jondo was on his way out when you left. AdLib an hour ago

Murph I remember Jundo from the other site. Didn’t know he popped up here obviously before I started. twilson117 an hour ago

AdLib, I had some other stuff to deal with, and as it was…it just was more hassle that it was worth, I figured leaving for a time was the right move. But now I am back. Angela Bridgman an hour ago

Angela, anyway, he’s no longer a factor, so go for it!

( I go by PPO here, btw) pinkpantheroz an hour ago

My biggest fight right now…in light of the Bostock ruling from SCOTUS…has been insuring healthcare access for trans people. Angela Bridgman an hour ago

Angela – I think it’s hard to surgically hurt those Repubs in a state who are passing laws that oppress other people. Boycotts can hurt the very folks they are trying to protect but the other side of it is, if the punishments don’t hurt those Repubs too, how will anything change? AdLib an hour ago

OK, sorry, PPO, did not know Angela Bridgman an hour ago

Angela…..what Ad is saying re. moderation is my experience as well…careful and steady makes for good decision making. One thing Ad does very well is to engage folks who got off on t he wrong foot in conversation in hopes that the person might be won over. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

TW….yes, I was not happy when he came over here but it did not last long. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

AdLib…we have experience in our communities doing this very thing. It HURTS them…when we have our events anyway…AND DONATE TO CHARITIES THAT THEY HATE!! Angela Bridgman an hour ago

Yawanna know who is hurt by MLB moving out of Atlanta?? The parking lot attendants and the ticket takers and the concession stand vendors who have lost those jobs to Denver now. Angela Bridgman an hour ago

The very people intended to be helped…are being hurt. Angela Bridgman an hour ago

Murph–not much “chatter” about the new voter suppression laws. The last I heard was that Will Smith pulled his movie out of GA because of them, but I haven’t heard anything else. Abrams has urged corporations, filmmaker, etc. to NOT leave GA. She says that leaving GA hurts the working class people–IOW, a lot of the people whose votes are being suppressed. She says that corporations, etc. should stay and put pressure on lawmakers to change the laws. That’s about all I know right now. glenn an hour ago

Angela – But how do you get Repubs to change the nasty laws they pass? AdLib an hour ago

You vote them the fuck out of office Angela Bridgman an hour ago

It begins and ends with gerrymandering. Angela Bridgman an hour ago

Murph Jondo was a jerk on the other site as well. Not mention he is a one trick pony. Which is why I suggested he play in the traffic on South Salina Street. A reference he would understand as he is from my home city. twilson117 an hour ago

When we can have fair districts drawn that encourage as many competitive seats as possible, there’s no cover for the radical fringe to do what they do. Angela Bridgman an hour ago

Glenn…I am with Abrams……there are other, more significant actions that can be taken…including a pledge to not support any member of the GOP in that state. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

When so many of our Congress are beyond being held accountable at the ballot box, there is no motivation for them to change, or to negotiate in good faith Angela Bridgman an hour ago

TW….AH YES! South Salina.

MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

Angela you know for that to happen there will be a need for a major push to get them out of the House and Senate. twilson117 an hour ago

Angela – But it’s hard to vote Repubs out of power in the types of states where they now hold power. It can happen but so many people will be hurt over the time it would take. I don’t know if there is a good option, all of them have their drawbacks and perhaps the most important factor is what can change things sooner than later. AdLib an hour ago

Can anyone explain what that rogue Dem Senator is doing? He’s screwing everyone. For what? pinkpantheroz an hour ago

PPO…Mancin? MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

Murph–Abrams is one smart woman. She always seems to be able to get to the heart of any issue. The issue being that corporations, etc. should fight, not flight! glenn an hour ago

Glenn….re. Abrams. Nailed it.

MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

PPO if you’re referring to Manchin yes he is indeed a trip. At the moment he is having his 15 minutes of fame. twilson117 an hour ago

It has taken a long time for us to get to where we are now, and it will take about as long to get back and there is no way around that…much as we might wish otherwise Angela Bridgman an hour ago

Yes, manchin, sorry, went blank! CAn’t the fool be tethered somehow? pinkpantheroz an hour ago

Manchin is not the sharpest tool in the shed but he knows one thing, when Dems need his vote, he is at the apex of his “power” and he never hesitates to use it. AdLib an hour ago

Angela–agreed. We need to keep voting out the red! But it will take time. glenn an hour ago

HB-69, a bill filed in North Carolina in 2019 (which died in committee) was a good star on taking the map-drawing duties out of the hands of the elected officials with a vested interest in the outcome, and putting it back into the hands of the voters where it belongs Angela Bridgman an hour ago

Manchin loves being the deal maker or breaker….and his constituency is very, very, very RED!. He is a holdover from a time when states like mine had a conservative Democratic Party and a Liberal one in the same state. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

Angela where you’re at yes it will. twilson117 an hour ago

And that is where we have to start the unscrewing of this country…which has been being slowly screwed up over the last thirty years Angela Bridgman an hour ago

The only way to take Manchin and Sinema’s feet off the brake is to add 2 more reasonable Dems in 2022. Then these selfish grandstanders have no more power. AdLib an hour ago

We have a good opportunity in 2022. Angela Bridgman an hour ago

Ad..grow the Dem majority…yes. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

Blunt is out, Protman is out, Toomey is out, Burr is out…. Angela Bridgman an hour ago

The filibuster can be killed and the dam can break on passing all the important legislation that minority rule has killed in Congress. AdLib an hour ago

Grassle may be done… Angela Bridgman an hour ago

Ron Johnson may or may not be out Angela Bridgman an hour ago

that’s 5-6 pickup opportunities, and if we can get DC a state, all the better Angela Bridgman an hour ago

PR and DC States! pinkpantheroz an hour ago

BUT…we have GOT to work on gerrymandering. Nothing else changes until that does. Entrenched politicians have no motivation to do anything but dig in their heels. They do not budge compromoise or even negotiate in good faith Angela Bridgman an hour ago

AdLib agree need to pick up seats in the Senate. twilson117 an hour ago

I said as much when I myself was a Senate candidate…y’all do remember that, yes?? Angela Bridgman an hour ago

Angela – Ron Johnson is as good as out, his polling is in the garbage and he has created so much video of being a racist and a Russian tool. Though he is an equal opportunity tool as well. AdLib an hour ago

Statehood for both PR and DC…….quite a hill to climb. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

Hopefully, now that people have seen what a competent government can do, and how a competent President acts, they will be voting Dem. A lot of repub voters just vote repub out of habit; and I think some have realized that it’s a habit they need to break. Also, I think there are Independent voters who have finally realized that their support of the RTLB was misguided. glenn an hour ago

Hell, I even got 27 percent in my Primary…as a first-run candidate, up against a second-run candidate, establishment favorite who outraised me 20 to 1 because she’s married to a lobbyist, thus had a fat rolodex of rich donors I did not have. Angela Bridgman an hour ago

Obamacare went through, Murph, so statehood should be a coomparable doddle pinkpantheroz an hour ago

And I was also the state’s first openly trans candidate…and still, 27 percent!! Angela Bridgman an hour ago

I spent 28 CENTS per vote I got Angela Bridgman an hour ago

Glenn…well put…. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

Statehood for PR is a tougher sell…and could result in a wash, actually Angela Bridgman an hour ago

Thanks, Murph glenn an hour ago

You need enough residents of PR to support statehood and not all of them do…some of them like living tax free. Angela Bridgman an hour ago

We can’t fix the core of our democracy without killing the filibuster. DC and PR will not be able to join the union. Voting rights won’t pass, immigration won’t pass, gun laws won’t pass. Consider that Repubs all voted against the Covid Relief bill that over 70% of the country supported. They are the enemy of democracy and the American people. AdLib an hour ago

DC DOES support statehood, and so we should work to make that happen. Angela Bridgman an hour ago

And fucking Breyer needs to resign YESTERDAY!@! Angela Bridgman an hour ago

Angela t was a damn good performance in your race considering what you were up against. AdLib an hour ago

Well, folks, it’s getting that time for me. I just can’t stay awake as I used to. So, nice chatting with you all; nice meeting you, Angela, and I hope to chat with you all next week. Take care. glenn an hour ago

nice meeting you glenn! Angela Bridgman an hour ago

PPO…take a look at this to see the challenges…. https://www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2021/01/08/washington-dc-statehood-faq/ MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

‘gnight, glenn, stay safe pinkpantheroz an hour ago

The last thing we need is Breyer to pull another fucking RBG on us. Angela Bridgman an hour ago

Take care Glen twilson117 an hour ago

We already lost TWO fucking SCOTUS seats that way Angela Bridgman an hour ago

Glenn…wish you could stay but understand why going is necessary. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

Breyer needs to step down….NOW MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

Bye glenn! AdLib an hour ago

Oh…pardon my F-bombs…people here who know me…know I only do that when I am very emphatic about something. It is not my habit to do that Angela Bridgman an hour ago

We need Breyer to step down and put a nice good 45-48 year old in his seat and lock it down for the next 30-40 years Angela Bridgman an hour ago

I’m Shocked, angela, totally fucking shocked, I am! pinkpantheroz an hour ago

Angela – I mentioned free expression being important here, f-bombs are just fine…as long as they’re not aimed at attacking a fellow member which yours are of course not. AdLib an hour ago

LOL, watch your fucking mouth, PPO!

Angela Bridgman an hour ago

You know I never aim f-bombs at anyone. Angela Bridgman an hour ago

pinkpantheroz an hour ago

RBG expected Clinton to win….and when she did not RBG fought like hell to stay alive knowing that the GOP would follow the hypocritical path and rush through a nominee. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

Seriously, we should reconsider how the Court is structured….in a different way. Let SCOTUS have say over cases between states…and set up a separate Constitutional Court to handle civil matters like for example, the Bostock case….maybe even a Civil Rights Court could be an idea. Angela Bridgman an hour ago

We also need the DoJ to investigate Kavanaugh for perjuring himself in his hearings, all the many charges against him as a judge before joining SCOTUS and getting to the bottom of who gave him a ton of maney to pay off his debts before the hearings. I think he is very dirty and should be impeached. AdLib an hour ago

There’s ways around SCOTUS….the Constitution gives the Congress the right to define the scope of the SCOTUS perview Angela Bridgman an hour ago

Ad…I agree…Kavanaugh needs to face impeachment. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

Someone needs to investigate Anthony Kennedy’s son…and who blackmailed Kennedy into retiring and opening a seat for Kavanaugh. Angela Bridgman an hour ago

Angela…..so the Congress changes the SOP for the Supremes…and that gets challenged in the courts…..ultimately being heard by the……..you see the problem? MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

No, it does not work that way….the Constitution CLEARLY outlines that Congress may determine the scope of SCOTUS. Angela Bridgman an hour ago

Angela..what is this about Kennedy’s son? MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

Angela – If it involves a constitutional issue, even if it’s civil, it should go to the SCOTUS. Foks here know I’ve supported a 13 seat SCOTUS for some time. I also support either a specific riattion term, where they are cycled off the SCOTUS and ne judges come on. Also, there needs to be a term limit so that each president gets to add justices. 10 years? 15 years? But get rid of lifetime appointments because they damage democracy. AdLib an hour ago

He was in with Duetsche Bank mess Angela Bridgman 44 minutes ago

I don’t see a work around with the SJC unless there is some form of term limits for them. Both parties seem to be resolved to leave it alone. twilson117 44 minutes ago

Angela…and who decides questions of interpretation……what is clear to you or me may be, will be challenged. MurphTheSurf3 44 minutes ago

Article III of the Constitution establishes the federal judiciary. Article III, Section I states that “The judicial Power of the United States, shall be vested in one supreme Court, and in such inferior Courts as the Congress may from time to time ordain and establish.” Although the Constitution establishes the Supreme Court, it permits Congress to decide how to organize it. Angela Bridgman 44 minutes ago

Has the Gaetz of Hell been arrested yet? pinkpantheroz 44 minutes ago

take note of the last sentence. Angela Bridgman 44 minutes ago

Article III permits Congress to determine how to organize the Courts. Angela Bridgman 44 minutes ago

Ad….I would endorse all of your SCOTUS ideas. MurphTheSurf3 43 minutes ago

Angela – Agreed, Kennedy’s son was Trump’s banker at Deutsche Bank. His coordinated resignation along with his son’s still stinks to high heaven. AdLib 43 minutes ago

Personally, I would prefer a SCOTUS of 22 members, of whom 11 would be randomly selected to hear and rule on any specific case. Angela Bridgman 43 minutes ago

Angela that is the problem getting congress to go along with changing structure of the SJC. twilson117 42 minutes ago

That makes it harder to stack the court ruling in any specific case Angela Bridgman 42 minutes ago

and allows for mnore cases to be heard. Angela Bridgman 42 minutes ago

Time for me to make lunch, folks, so cheerio till next week. Lovely getting to know you, Angela. Hope to see lots more. pinkpantheroz 42 minutes ago

Angela….that prevision can be understood to relate to the setting up of courts that answer to the Supreme, thus “inferior.” MurphTheSurf3 42 minutes ago

Bye, PPO, nice to meet you. Angela Bridgman 42 minutes ago

Take care PPO twilson117 42 minutes ago

Be looking for my articles…I am the resident Transgender Columnist here. Angela Bridgman 41 minutes ago

PPO…cheerio! MurphTheSurf3 41 minutes ago

Angela – I’m open to a larger SCOTUS, even 22 members and I like the idea of having an arbitrary selection of who judges on a case but like lower courts, if warranted, a case would have to be allowed to be appealed to the full SCOTUS. AdLib 41 minutes ago

Yes…but if we establish another lower court to take some of the sorts of cases the Supremes get now, and limit the perview of the Supremes, that can work too….at least how I read Article 3 it can be dome this way Angela Bridgman 40 minutes ago

Well….as I noted earlier…I am having to do more work than usual on my planting so I need to recharge the batteries……it is off to bed for me. Good to see you all. MurphTheSurf3 40 minutes ago

Take care Murph twilson117 40 minutes ago

IN my 22 SCOTUS scenario…11 Justices constitutes an en-banc ruling. Angela Bridgman 40 minutes ago

AdLiB I’m out also see you next week. twilson117 40 minutes ago

So maybe the Gaetz case will take down DeSantis and other Repubs? Gaetz has “squealer” written all over his entitled face. If they have him dead to rights, he might flip on a bigger fish like DeSantis or maybe even Trump. AdLib 39 minutes ago

Even if you want to do 18 Jusitces, with nine randomly assigned to each case…that’s still nine jusitces. Angela Bridgman 39 minutes ago

The argument used to do this is the workload of the Courts Angela Bridgman 39 minutes ago

This allows for more cases to be heard more quickly Angela Bridgman 39 minutes ago

Less backlog Angela Bridgman 39 minutes ago

DeSantis = DeSATANIST. Get it right, AdLib Angela Bridgman 38 minutes ago

Wow…just you and me left, eh, AdLib?? Angela Bridgman 38 minutes ago

We have seen that one clear problem is the lifetime appointment. Another is the Senate now manipulating the selection of the president based on party politics. Another is allowing unqualified people onto the bench. Boundaries and rules need to be set to fix those. AdLib 38 minutes ago

Agreed. Angela Bridgman 37 minutes ago

Yep Angela, when folks leave, sometimes many do at once. AdLib 37 minutes ago

Hey, I promise I showered today, I did not drive everyone off, LOL Angela Bridgman 37 minutes ago

I blame you personally!

AdLib 37 minutes ago

LOL, I did not pull a Rudy Guiliani in the room!! Angela Bridgman 37 minutes ago

that’s new…. Angela Bridgman 32 minutes ago

Hope you enjoyed Vox. You briught some great discussions to it tonight. AdLib 32 minutes ago

Thanks. Angela Bridgman 31 minutes ago

There’s actually a lot that needs to change in this country…but what we need to do is figure out a plan to progress and then work that plan, and know it will take quite some time. Angela Bridgman 31 minutes ago

On any page, you’ll see a cluster of four buttons on the right side of the page. Short Posts is one of them, it’s our main location to post comments about anything. AdLib 31 minutes ago

I still say the courts and gerrymandering are the place to start Angela Bridgman 30 minutes ago

ok, I will look for that Angela Bridgman 30 minutes ago

Found it Angela Bridgman 30 minutes ago

I guess we are sorta done here tongiht then?? Angela Bridgman 29 minutes ago

HR 1 would end gerrymandering and institute voting and registration rights for all Americans that states couldn’t manipulate. But the only way to pass that is kill the filibuster. AdLib 29 minutes ago

I think we have another way. Angela Bridgman 29 minutes ago

And Manchin and Sinema won’t agree to end the filibuster. AdLib 29 minutes ago

DC statehood would help, and maybe shoveling a little pork in Synema and Manchild’s direction will help Angela Bridgman 29 minutes ago

Biden just hired Manchin’s wife for an agency position and Manchin still blathers about not supporting his fellow Dems. Manchin is a self-centered idiot. AdLib 28 minutes ago

You think Manchild might like seeing West Virginia get better rural broadband?? Angela Bridgman 28 minutes ago

Can’t get DC statehood without ending the filibuster either. AdLib 28 minutes ago

How’d you like to be Manchild, bringing that tasty piece of bacon back home? I think he can be won over. Angela Bridgman 27 minutes ago

Synema is another matter, frankly I am more worried about her and her cutesy bullshit than Machild. We know how to deal with the likes of Manchild Angela Bridgman 26 minutes ago

If Manchin was smart, which I don’t believe he is, he could go all in on killing the filibuster and improving the lives of the many poor people in WV by helping vote through all kinds of solutions. But he’s small minded and plays small ball. He could be an historic figure, instead, he’s a fool. AdLib 26 minutes ago

Yeah, but he needs someone like Biden to come down and ‘spalin it to him. Start with broadband expansion in WV Angela Bridgman 26 minutes ago

Sinema is a backstabber, she should be primaried. She betrayed the trust of many who voted for her, claiming she would be progressive then putting on this anti-progressive act. She needs to go and a Dem as Progressive as Mark Kelly can take her place. AdLib 24 minutes ago

I agree….like I said, I worry more about Synema Angela Bridgman 24 minutes ago

I think Manchin knows all of that but he’s a Dem in a blood red state and his only concern is re-election. Our democracy, racism, the overthrow of our countr, all are fine with him as long as he can get re-elected. AdLib 23 minutes ago

Anyway…gonna split for now, glad to be back with y’all…and I got some articles coming soon Angela Bridgman 23 minutes ago

And this makes Manchild different from almost every other politician….how?? Angela Bridgman 23 minutes ago

Yes, Sinema is now clearly revealed as an opportunist first, a Dem being a distant second. AdLib 23 minutes ago

Sounds great, Angela. Very glad to have you back! AdLib 22 minutes ago

We actually CAN butter Manchild’s bread for him….not as much Synema. Angela Bridgman 22 minutes ago

seeya later!! Angela Bridgman 22 minutes ago

I don’t know, I think Sinema has far fewer friends than Manchin, she may be vulnerable to pressure. AdLib 22 minutes ago

Night Angela! AdLib 15 minutes ago
