Yes, Swalwell has announced and while I generally like him, he just doesn’t strike me as executive material. And his aversion to Mamdani turned me off of him for higher office though I’m fine with him staying as a Rep.

Here’s the thing, the Repubs knew they were in big trouble in that TN race this week and they poured in a ton of money, used all kinds of dirty tricks, but still only won by single digits in a district Trump won by 21 points. Money and dirty tricks can fudhe a few points but not 10 points.

It was a win in the sense that the Dem won over 10% of the Trump vote in 2024. Not enough to win such a deep red district but there are maybe 30 Repubs in seats that were won by margins under 10%. If this holds up, it will be a blue tsunami next Nov despite the gerrymandering and dirty tricks.
