Vox Populi, our weekly live chat about the week’s events begins tonight at 7:00pm PDT. Hope to see you then! AdLib 6 hours ago

Hey Murph! How are you doing today? AdLib 4 hours ago

FYI, I contributed to Nikki Budzinski this week. AdLib 4 hours ago

Ok. Exhausted. Watching the Richard Engle special on MSNBC. Quite extraordinary. Up close, personal stories of the horrors of war in Ukraine. Focus now, a 10 year old who was with his mom and dad when they were killed by a Russian tank that rolled over his family car. and then fired on it to be sure the occupants were dead. The id is so very brave. MurphTheSurf3 4 hours ago

Thanks for the contribution to Nikki. A very good egg. Fighting hard, one town hall at a time. Lot of haters in that part of Il. MurphTheSurf3 4 hours ago

Good evening twilson117 4 hours ago

Wow. I heard a story like that, may have been that one, at the beginning of the invasion. This is real horror that’s so hard for people so removed as we are to really fully get. AdLib 4 hours ago

Evening TW! AdLib 4 hours ago

Murph – What else is the GOP and their MAGA cult but haters? AdLib 4 hours ago

What a week. twilson117 4 hours ago

That part of Il has a lot of radical righties who are very into militias. One of our big donors has hired body guards for Nikki. We have all gotten security briefings. I am (legally) armed when I travel there and nearby when I work. MurphTheSurf3 4 hours ago

You’re so right, TW. That ruling by the Injustice Loose Canon would be laughable if it wasn’t so Qanon. She “ruled” that the government has no authority to its own documents! And that Trump may have ownership of government property including top secret info. Insane. Glad DoJ appealed, even with a Trump picked majority on the 11th Circuit, can’t believe all of them could go along with incinerating the right of the government to its own documents. AdLib 4 hours ago

Have been watching all the reporting on the documents found and reading the back and forth between DOJ and Trump’s lawyers and the Judge who doesn’t seem to know what she is doing. What a mess. twilson117 4 hours ago

I have been so busy over there that I catch the news on the fly…..awarer of the Mired in Legos ongoing melodramas. MurphTheSurf3 4 hours ago

Murph – That is scary and should not be acceptable in a democracy. I was just thinking today that it’s time Dems called out this haterful, violent MAGA army as “Trump’s Thug Mob” or something like that and hammer that into voters minds along with a pledge to root out these criminals who use threats of violence to protect our democracy. AdLib 4 hours ago

Some of my chums from my days in the uk have been incontact. Two strongly support the monarch. One is a die hard “republican” i.e. for a monarch free republic. We have met in a chat. Good Lord. Who are those old guys. MurphTheSurf3 4 hours ago

It is foolish for these people to believe they can repeat 1776 and1860 twilson117 4 hours ago

TW – The kindest interprettation of Loose Canon is that she is a moron but the more likely explanation is that she is a moron who is corrupt and sees her job and future hinging on protecting Trump at all costs as a political partisan. There is no reflection of the law in her BS. AdLib 4 hours ago

Ad…certainly those principals should be front and center……but what those people respect is the kind of strength they wield. I don’t like it but it seems necessary so we are not being terrorized. MurphTheSurf3 4 hours ago

Canon is another of the Federalist Society Sawn. MurphTheSurf3 4 hours ago

If eitherof you et a chance to see this MSNBC Engel report….it is a must see…riveting, horrifying.Nazism lives. MurphTheSurf3 4 hours ago

Murph – I’m in the camp of questioning how loving monarchs has any place in modern society since it is supporting a statement that everyone else in the country is inferior. AdLib 4 hours ago

Guys it bothers me deeply to see what is happening. You’ve heard me say it we lose the courts we lose our democracy. twilson117 4 hours ago

Murph will be watching it later it will be repeated so I will be able to record it. twilson117 4 hours ago

The Monarchy has emerged as a living symbol of the nation, a gathering point for a variety of people and a source of idealistic stability. MurphTheSurf3 4 hours ago

Every time I listen to Zelensky I am in awe. MurphTheSurf3 4 hours ago

TW – As I think all of us have said here, what we’re seeing in this MAGA cult is the mindless hatred and need for affirmation of superiority that we saw back in Nazi Germany. Until Trump, most Americans including me would shake their heads and wonder how a society could support a hateful madman to have ultimate power over them. Now, we know. And reason, conscience and humanity have nothing to do with these people so they are beyond reasoning with them. They need to be permanently defeated. AdLib 4 hours ago

Murph Not bad for a comedian twilson117 4 hours ago

TW…..He is a heroic figure and a natural leader. MurphTheSurf3 4 hours ago

Ad, so true. twilson117 4 hours ago

And a 52+ Dem majority in The Senate to break the filibuster and pass voting reform nationwide with a Dem House would defeat the Repubs from holding power and remaining the enemy of the people. AdLib 4 hours ago

Murph I agree with you, and the US and all of NATO should give him what he needs. twilson117 4 hours ago

Ad…will our citizenry rise to the challenge…..do have the stuff of the founders and framers. MurphTheSurf3 4 hours ago

Guys I have my MA Information For Voters booklet for our up coming election. Will be going over it this weekend. twilson117 4 hours ago

TW – That is another reason we need a larger Senate majority and keeping the House, to pass judicial reform and have a system that roots out malicious judges and enlarges the SCOTUS. BTW, Claire McKaskill said on MSNBC that Dems would never have the votes to enlarge the SCOTUS. We need to prove her wrong again by hammering any Dems who wouldn’t be on board if we get that bigger majority in The Senate. AdLib 4 hours ago

TW…AND vow to punish Russia, to break it, this behavior has become a pattern……genocidal destruction. MurphTheSurf3 4 hours ago

Murph good question, but I ask this, if things were to change what type of government would the good citizens want. twilson117 4 hours ago

TW…what is MA…..? MurphTheSurf3 4 hours ago

Massachusetts information for voters booklet on the ballot questions. Sorry should have been more expliict. twilson117 4 hours ago

I forgot you are from MA…..where do your fellow citizens stand on your GOP governor? MurphTheSurf3 4 hours ago

Murph – Yes, I understand and I don’t fault people who are passionate about the monarchy but my personal feelings are that whatever good they can do that’s earnest could be done without their being royalty which by definition demeans the people of the country and especially, carries with it the horrible baggage of violence and torture of vulnerable people in the countries they ruled in the past. AdLib 4 hours ago

Ad….baggage like that is part of every nation’s sad heritage. MurphTheSurf3 4 hours ago

Murph well I know I’m not voting for the Trump supporter who is running. And since we’ve hand moderate Reps as gov, this guy has no chance. twilson117 4 hours ago

I like to think of the war finally ending and Zelinsky getting a chance to enjoy the enormous respect and affection that Ukrainians and the rest of most of the world have for him. What an unexpected leader who grew to fill the shoes he needed to. It’s not over yet though, I remain concerned for his well being, his strength and defiance is a powerful motivator for the people of his country. AdLib 4 hours ago

TW….so much of the citizen ignorance is the result of studied efforts to dumb down the voters…..ex. the virtual elimination of civcs from grade and high school curriculums and the failure to teach American History in all its complexity. MurphTheSurf3 4 hours ago

Murph I agree the lack of civics being taught in grade school is a major problem. twilson117 4 hours ago

Murph – I think the primary results and polls are showing that concern for our democracy and women’s rights is dominating this cycle and helping Dems overperform and Repubs underperform. I am hoping that what we see in Nov is a much bigger wave election than polls, which are not geared to account for the rapid growth of women and young people registering to vote. AdLib 4 hours ago

TW…good to hear. My position has become painfully clear to all with whom I associate……no matter how noble, no matter how wise, no matter how ethical….ANY vote for a Republican is a vote against democracy. MurphTheSurf3 4 hours ago

Ad the war is far from won they still have a long way to go. I believe the most effective way to for it to end would be for the people see Putin in handcuffs and carted off the prision. twilson117 4 hours ago

TW – Very cool! This is such an important election, the most important in terms of retaining our democracy…at least since 2020! I can’t wait to vote but thankfully, in MA and CA, we don’t have a lot to worry about in our elections. AdLib 4 hours ago

Ad, thought about moving to a state were the COL was lower, but, don’t like the politics in some of the states where it would less expensive. twilson117 4 hours ago

Repubs have always targeted education as an enemy. The attacks on colleges and college educated, the phony CRT BS, ending the Dept of Education, on and on, the powerful and wealthy behind the GOP see the big picture, that a public which is uneducated is easier to mislead and manipulate. AdLib 4 hours ago

I am under significant pressure from both sides to stand up for Busch Valentine….curious…..the right wants the election to look legit…..the left wants to play the part that gives them some stake in county government. MurphTheSurf3 4 hours ago

Murph is Busch running against Boebert?? twilson117 4 hours ago

No. Eric Schmitt. MurphTheSurf3 4 hours ago

Murph – That is simply the truth. What do any of these Republicans offer to make the lives of their voters better, aside from the fantasy of turning the US into South African arpartheid? They don’t support a single issue to benefit anyone, it is so corrupt, it is only about manipulation, blatant lies and cheating to gain power to reward their financiers and themselves. Not one policy to make one person’s life better. Not one. They chose to not even have a platform this year because they aren’t running on any issues aside from dismantling America. AdLib 4 hours ago

Ad….an excellent summary…a damning case. MurphTheSurf3 4 hours ago

Can’t we trace that all back to when the dixiecrats moved into the Republican part? twilson117 4 hours ago

TW – I wonder if this recent defeat of Russian occupation has moved Russian generals to consider getting rid of Putin and the next one may be the straw that breaks the camels back. I mean when you have Russian politicians openly condemning Putin and demanding that he step down, shit is getting real! AdLib 4 hours ago

The movement toward widespread civic education comes directly out of the New Deal…..it is understandable that the hatred by the right for that effort was represented. MurphTheSurf3 4 hours ago

Ad it has caused some of the people to question what he is doing. That’s for sure. twilson117 4 hours ago

TW – I don’t know that I would move to a Red state though being Murph’s neighbor sounds like it would be a great thing. But young people, especially women and those going to college are and will continue to steer away from setting down roots in fascist states where the people and especially women are oppressed and have their freedom taken from them. AdLib 4 hours ago

Ad…knowing how Machiavellian the russian leadership is…I would not be surpised if the “opposition” is, in fact, another face of the national propaganda effort. MurphTheSurf3 4 hours ago

Ad…..We would make interesting neighbors you and I. MurphTheSurf3 4 hours ago

God….this MSNBC special is gut wrenching. MurphTheSurf3 4 hours ago

Murph – If the Left wants standing in county government, then focus on legit county candidates but putting support behind Busch is legitimizing her and through her, legitimizing the stealing of that nom in a fraudulent democracy. Busch is a fraud and she needs to be seen as one, that is the best victory and support for democracy that Dems could do in MO. AdLib 4 hours ago

Murph I saw a clip where a retired SCJ was speaking to a group and told them about a time when he was speaking an event some thought the SC was part of Congress, they had no idea the SC was a separate and co-equal branch of the government. twilson117 4 hours ago

Ad….I have NO respect for the Democratic Party here…..they played the part the GOP was willing to give them to get a bit of pork. MurphTheSurf3 4 hours ago

Ad I couldn’t live in MO my wife would be a widow my daughter without a father and my granddaughter would have no one to buy her lots of books. twilson117 4 hours ago

TW….Trump ended the myth of a separate and co-equal branch…… MurphTheSurf3 4 hours ago

Murph all the dark money is what has corrupted the courts. twilson117 4 hours ago

TW – I think we can go back to the founding of the country and the always-present tension between the racist/fascist forces vs. the enlightened, pro-democracy forces. The 1/5th person is as disgusting a compromise as there ever was between these forces, undemocratic, inhuman and based in hatreds and disrespect for other human beings. DeSantis’ contemptable treatment of those 50 Venezuelans is an echo of the same inhuman abuse of people as “things” to use., AdLib 4 hours ago

But I have to wonder, if what we are going through isn’t something we need to wake people up. What do you guys think? twilson117 4 hours ago

TW…..I think one of the reasons the “co-op” “association” is strong now is that it is a shelter for people like us. I no longer even consider efforts to broaden our membership base. I no longer trust anyone on the right. MurphTheSurf3 4 hours ago

Murph – Good point, I’ll never have 100% confidence in the stories that portray Putin as in trouble but when you see even Russia State TV upset and blaming Putin for their losses, urging him to end the war, you know something is likely going on. AdLib 4 hours ago

Murph, I think we would have a great time as neighbors…if you could keep me from snacking on your crops. AdLib 4 hours ago

Murph it’s good to know your new co-op association is going strong. twilson117 4 hours ago

Ad….perhaps but I wonder why any media figure would do this since they have no protection in the law and can disappear in the night….the Spirit of Stalin stalks that nation. MurphTheSurf3 4 hours ago

Ad……I might succeed in getting you to join the ranks of gentlemen farmers……. MurphTheSurf3 4 hours ago

TW – I see the “man on the street” interviews where average people are asked simple questions about civics and show how massively ignorant they are, it’s all for laughs but it makes me feel embarassed and worried for the country’s future. Now the book banning, censorship and manipulation of teaching actual history in public schools in Red states is truly troubling. AdLib 4 hours ago

TW….in many ways it is as strong as it has ever been but it is no longer diverse in its memberhip’s political and social orientations. Pretty monolithic. MurphTheSurf3 4 hours ago

Gentlemen farmers, are those the ones that meet in someone’s sitting room smoking cigars and drinking 20 year old scotch? twilson117 4 hours ago

Murph – The sad thing I found and CL can tell many stories about it, is that just because other people call themselves Dems or Progressives, they can be similar to Trumpers and just as corrupt. It’s about individuals, being of the same party doesn’t always mean community, to many, it’s about ego, attention, power and money, no different than Trumpers. AdLib 4 hours ago

Murph when you say it’s no longer diverse in it’s political and social orientations say more twilson117 4 hours ago

I went to a Ukrainian Church last Sunday for their Sabbath Services and a Memorial Service for the dead in Ukraine. It was a stunning experience. I cried a lot. So many in their congregation have direct and immediate relationships with family and friends there. Makes the whole thing so real. MurphTheSurf3 4 hours ago

TW – I think Murph is a hero for toughing it out in MO. I don’t know if I have enough inner strength and patience to put up with MAGAs all around me. AdLib 4 hours ago

Ad I know I wouldn’t. twilson117 3 hours ago

TW and Ad …… our membership now is thoroughly reform minded, socialist in philosophy and counter cultural. We are racially diverse (our first Latinx members have just joined) with a mixture of straight, gay et.al. members and associates but we keep a very low profile. MurphTheSurf3 3 hours ago

I have to give Richard Engel lots of credit for what he is doing. Especially with the recent loss of his son. twilson117 3 hours ago

TW – Imagine if the Fascist Five on the SCOTUS didn’t overturn Roe. would Dems be as well positioned to win in Nov? And if Trump hadn’t committed so many crimes? I’m not usually a silver lining guy but this extremism of hatred and corruption may be what saves democracy by putting Dems in power in a year when they probably wouldn’t be. I’ve said here before that this election in 2022 was the one path we had to save our democracy and at the very least, this extreme awfulness may be what beats it. AdLib 3 hours ago

Ad…thank you but my “heroism” is rather forced….I am “all in” here…..leaving would bankrupt me. MurphTheSurf3 3 hours ago

TW, I have a huge respect for Engel….I did not know about his son. Say more please. MurphTheSurf3 3 hours ago

Murph no wonder the others don’t like you guys, you’re making things work with a philosophy that is counter to everything they believe in. twilson117 3 hours ago

Ad….I pray that your prediction becomes history. MurphTheSurf3 3 hours ago

Murph – Yep and so many high windows for Putin critics to fall out of. I think the tide may be turning against Putin in a real way, for even his tv puppets to be discouraged and complaining about the war, if not him. AdLib 3 hours ago

Murph his son had a incurable brain disease he just passed away a about month ago, I believe he was about 9. twilson117 3 hours ago

TW…..back in 2008 when Ifirst joined the Planet I had friends across the aisle and frequented social settings with them. No longer. MurphTheSurf3 3 hours ago

Murph – I am so impressed with your evolving association. WOuld you consider writing an article about it, in a general way so folks aren’t identified but the gist of what you’ve all been building in one of the Reddest states could be shown? AdLib 3 hours ago

TW…..my admiration for Engle has just gone a few more notches. MurphTheSurf3 3 hours ago

Murph I wish I could recall what the disease was but can’t at the moment. twilson117 3 hours ago

Murph – Right but it would have been easier for you to either conform or just be silent. Standing up as you have is indeed courage. AdLib 3 hours ago

Murph I like Ad’s idea of you penning an article about your co-op. twilson117 3 hours ago

Good evening Harleigh twilson117 3 hours ago

Ad….your invitation is a great sign of respect for my associates and myself and I appreciate it but I have worked hard to fog who we are and where we are which I think is wise……I wonder if I could write something that would say anything and still do that. MurphTheSurf3 3 hours ago

HEY GUYS Harleigh 3 hours ago

Hey Harleigh….we are having a very serious interchange. MurphTheSurf3 3 hours ago

Murph – And you were a moderate Repub way back then, right? It’s as they say, you didn’t leave the party, it left you. I have several close friends who are Repubs, some have become very anti-MAGA and voted for biden, some stayed on the Trump Train and I see them struggle to justify it but they just can’t quit the GOP anymore than their religion. AdLib 3 hours ago

Hey Harleigh! AdLib 3 hours ago

Harleigh how are you?? twilson117 3 hours ago

Ad…..your memory is good. I was GOP for most of my adult life. My U.S. roots are in the South where the GOP was the party of reform AND of business and sound government. There were the foes of Dixiecrats and Klansmen……but that party was in decline for years with the break for me marked by the Bush False War. MurphTheSurf3 3 hours ago

hangin in there tw Harleigh 3 hours ago

Murph – Maybe you could cloak it sufficiently and focus instead on the community sensibility and maybe anecdotes about people coming together sharing good values while surrounded by MAGAs full of hatred and aggression. The co-op side is maybe not as key to the story as good people banding together in the midst of a very Red state filled with hate. AdLib 3 hours ago

Ad that sounds like an interesting approach. twilson117 3 hours ago

Murph – It’s like you were standing up to your knees in the ocean and the tide just went out. You stayed the same, the GOP pulled away from you. It doesn’t seem that long ago when America as a whole could look at Bush vs. Gore and say, ‘Hmm, should I vote for the Dem or the Repub?” Now, only the disengaged and uninformed could look at candidates for both parties that way. AdLib 3 hours ago

Ad….I would have to do a lot of soul searching and would need to have the permission of the entire assoication given potential repercussions. MurphTheSurf3 3 hours ago

Murph you were in the GOP when it actually believed in something. It’s as you said been taken over. We say that over on Yabberz. twilson117 3 hours ago

Ad,,,,strong visualization of my experience. MurphTheSurf3 3 hours ago

TW…yes I was….consider the role of the GOP in the civil rights movement…. MurphTheSurf3 3 hours ago

Murph many in the Civil Rights movement were Republicans. twilson117 3 hours ago

TW….including Daddy King! MurphTheSurf3 3 hours ago

Murph – You know how they said in Dragnet, “The names were changed to protect the innocent”. I think the story shouldn’t even address the association, just the concept of building a community of decent people while surrounded by crazed Trumpers. The people don’t need to be portrayed as they are, what is most interesting to me to learn more about is how people are thinking, how they may deal with fear and resistance and how they find humanity and friends in each other. So it could be anywhere in the state and people of any profession. AdLib 3 hours ago

Murph yes he was. twilson117 3 hours ago

Ad….compelling argument…..but I need to ponder. MurphTheSurf3 3 hours ago

Repubs used to believe in the environment, in the working man, in protecting America from enemies and coming together with Dems against any adversary in the world. Those were respectable values but now just a memory. This GOP would sell the Constitution for Putin to wipe himself with if it would help them gain power. AdLib 3 hours ago

Friends ….. I have a longish drive in the morning into the Land of Lincoln to work for a candidate walking with Honest Abe’s Spirit. MurphTheSurf3 3 hours ago

Murph don’t ponder too long because you have a compelling story to tell. Like Ad said it could be an analogy. twilson117 3 hours ago

Murph – Absolutely, it deserves a lot of consideration first. You could even just make it about how you think people could come together in red states, remove it completely from the specifics and make it a proposal to others in Red states on how you think they can build conscientious communities in Red states. AdLib 3 hours ago

Ad……remember the GOP’s platform during the Ike years? Worth a read….unrecognizable a having any connection with the contemorary GOP. MurphTheSurf3 3 hours ago

Without saying that you’ve accomplished this and are building on it, you could just present it as a proposition on how it could work for others. AdLib 3 hours ago

Worth considering. MurphTheSurf3 3 hours ago

Murph that is what is wrong with the GOP today, they have not platform at all now. twilson117 3 hours ago

I never dreamed the tide would turn back rejecting the reform that the Obama Election represented in the Rejection of Clinton. MurphTheSurf3 3 hours ago

I like(d) Ike. And Teddy and of course Lincoln. Numerous Repubs I respected in history until the flip after the Civil Rights Act and Nixon’s Southern Strategy. Since then, there have been very few Repubs in the WH or Congress or state houses to appreciate. AdLib 3 hours ago

Murph if anyone can do it, it’s you. Don’t forget you’re the one who got me to start writing on Yabberz and also become part of PlanentPOV twilson117 3 hours ago

Ad…truth. MurphTheSurf3 3 hours ago

TW….I feel honored that you consider my encouragement as influential given how very smart, how very informed and how well “spoken” you are. MurphTheSurf3 3 hours ago

Murph – Same here, with Obama, on Roe, I thought things were settled and progress could continue, we could move forward. But as we’ve learned, powerful men do not want a better or freer nation and they will finance the dragging back of the country to division and corruption because in chaos, they see opportunity to sieze more wealth and power. AdLib 3 hours ago

Ad…another spot on, masterful summary. MurphTheSurf3 3 hours ago

Murph I wouldn’t be doing what I am now if it wasn’t for the invite I got from you. Even when Yabberz shut down and went over to Medium I stayed with it because of your encouragement. twilson117 3 hours ago

Thanks Murph. I think the satisfying thing about the folks here is that we all seem to feel inspired by each other. AdLib 3 hours ago

Again, a bow of deep respect for you both. MurphTheSurf3 3 hours ago

So before you go, do you think Dems will pull out the 52+ seats in The Senate and retain The House in Nov? AdLib 3 hours ago

Ad…..I do not know but I am giving my all in a House Race that could make a difference. My experience of the American voter has been so disappointing in the last 10 years that I find it hard to be positive. MurphTheSurf3 3 hours ago

Ad I have my fingers, toes and arms crossed that they will. Hey Biden’s recent victory with the train strike has to be counted also. What do the Repubs have to show? twilson117 3 hours ago

Just saw the first poll for NH Senate and that Maggie Hassan, who only won by a couple thourand votes last time, starts up 11 points ahead of the Qanon Trump-endorsed Repub. AdLib 3 hours ago

Good news about Maggie. MurphTheSurf3 3 hours ago

That is good news indeed. twilson117 3 hours ago

Murph – What I appreciate is that despite the disappointment a considerate person in MO would have to feel with year after year of bad outcomes, you still fight on. AdLib 3 hours ago

Ad….of course, some of that arises from my Irish Stubbornness and my British Disdain. MurphTheSurf3 3 hours ago

Well….this time for sure…6 AM will come all too quickly. Good night to you both. MurphTheSurf3 3 hours ago

And consider Dem victories so far in Alaska, Kansas, and on and on. The momentum is factually on the Dem side and the continuing threat and prosecution of Trump along with the terrible acts of DeSantis, Abbott, Lindsey, etc., and the accomplishments in legislation that Biden and Dems have had recently, I think we can keep the momentum going. AdLib 3 hours ago

Take care Murph twilson117 3 hours ago

Thank goodness for that Irish/British mix! It’s a good one! Night Murph, get some rest! AdLib 3 hours ago

Ad….rational, logical argumentation….but does that have voter appeal? MurphTheSurf3 3 hours ago

Good night, Guys! MurphTheSurf3 3 hours ago

Murph – People feel gas prices going down, confidence in the economy is up. And democracy is the top issue so yes, I think voters keep moving towards democracy and Democrats. AdLib 3 hours ago

Let’s hope it keeps going. I want to think it will, because as you pointed out the Repubs seem to keep shooting themself in the foot. twilson117 3 hours ago

This latest backfire by DeSantis to dehumanize those 50 human people sure seems to be hurting him. Just saw that the company he contracted with to handle it all has shut down their website. Repubs just can’t help themselves from being openly evil. AdLib 3 hours ago

So is your daughter back at Bentley? twilson117 3 hours ago

Yep, she was looking forward to it. Gave her a couple of weeks to settle in, will be calling her on Sunday to see how it’s all going. AdLib 3 hours ago

Stunts like that never truly work. twilson117 3 hours ago

The weather is has been pretty nice. twilson117 3 hours ago

Sending them to Martha Vinyard wasn’t very smart on his part not smart at all. twilson117 3 hours ago

All the Repubs have left is stunts. Look at Abbot, he is one stunt after another, shutting down the border, sending immigrants to DC, on and on. Meanwhile the TX grid is ready to collapse and Texans are paying much more for the energy they are getting. AdLib 3 hours ago

What do you think Bento of beating Abbott? twilson117 3 hours ago

DeSantis is evil, he thought that dropping those 50 people in Martha’s Vineyard after season when businesses are closed and tourists are gone would create a disaster. Not alerting anyone there but alerting Fox News to cover it? He looks hideous. AdLib 3 hours ago

I think Beto has a chance but with TX having the most restrictive voting laws in the country, being the least democratic and being so corrupt, I think it will be a tough road for Beto who is stil showing down in the polls. But if women and young people turn out in droves despite all the voter suppression, as is very possible, it could just put him over the top. AdLib 3 hours ago

That he does, but it didn’t get him the press he wanted, just over at Fox for what it was worth. It shows people here in MA have a heart. twilson117 3 hours ago

I hear you, but, I think Beto has a good chance, I think he can get the people out and motivated. twilson117 3 hours ago

Yes, it showed people of MA as kind, compassionate souls and DeSantis as dark and hateful as well as so self-serving. Like Mr. Burns in The Simpsons, plotting out a cruel plan and rubbing his hands together before it backfired saying to himself, “Excelent!” AdLib 3 hours ago

Just looked at the latest polls for TX and very encouraging, the last two show Beto just 2 points away from Abbott. AdLib 3 hours ago

I have to laugh at the Simpson comparison. You know my wife and I got called into school because our son had a Bart Simpson shirt on and the teacher thought it was inapporiate. twilson117 3 hours ago

And if my hopes for an unexpectedly big turnout by women and young people happens, Beto could indeed win. AdLib 3 hours ago

I think the polls could greatly underestimate Dem performance, they usually base polls on the turnout of likely voters in the last election and I think the overturning of Roe has made that inapplicable. AdLib 3 hours ago

Heh! Did he tell the school principal, “Don’t have a cow, man!” AdLib 3 hours ago

I believe Beto has a lot he can throw at Abbott. Three mass shootings, electric grid going down and most likely will again he and their restrictive bounty law along with their book banning. He has a lot to use. twilson117 3 hours ago

No he knew enough to not mouth off the the principle but I let the teacher know what I thought of her dumbass nonsense. twilson117 3 hours ago

That is already a ton of baggage he can throw at Abbott…not to mention the biggest of them all, outlawing abortion and thus declaring all pregnant women are the property of the state, meaning his property. AdLib 3 hours ago

I also warned the teachers he would be nothing like his older sister, nothing at all. It’s their fault they didn’t want to believe me. twilson117 3 hours ago

I assumed he would have been well behaved about it, just joking. What a ridiculous thing especially to think about nowadays when the bigger concerns are kids bringing guns to school instead of Bart t-shirts. AdLib 3 hours ago

No one ever got hurt by someone wearing a Bart t-shirt. AdLib 3 hours ago

My son had the tendency to open his mouth when he should have kept it shut. He was capable of some crazy stuff. His sister was the honor student, he was the jock. twilson117 3 hours ago

Sad to know that in some parts of the country now, school is all a political vehicle for “grooming” kids to become ignorant Repubs. AdLib 3 hours ago
