Hey everyone – Choicelady here inviting everyone to come on over! We will miss AdLib as he flees town and the heat, but we’ll party down in his honor. Be sure to say “howdy” when you check in. See you at the regular time for however long we last.
choicelady7 days ago
Hey CL, just popped in to say “Hey!”

Have a great Vox tonight!

Hi AdLib – hope you have a great evening. We will struggle on without you! See you soon!
choicelady7 days ago
Hi CL–I just watched one of the greatest orators our nation has ever produced give a moving and powerful eulogy for Clementa Pickney. What an inspirational, gracefull (spelling intentional) message by one of the greatest Presidents ever!
glenn7 days ago
hi glenn – yes, I watched it live then again this evening. Am in tears at the power of his words! He is amazing gracefull President! New word. Totally appropriate!
choicelady7 days ago
CL–So…other than inspired by our wonderful President, how are you?
glenn7 days ago
I am fine, glenn. How are you? It’s 103 here – dry though. How about you?
choicelady7 days ago
I’m fine, too. A little tired from my “babysitting” duties; as well as cooking my daughter’s favorite dinner for her birthday. But it’s a good tired; I love making her happy.
glenn7 days ago
Hey Murph! How are you?
glenn7 days ago
Good to hear – not the tired part but the happy part!
choicelady7 days ago
Hey, Glenn, CL, its been an interesting week. SCOTUS has supported the ACA and gay marriage. and the Conbfederate flag has been thoroughly discredited. In a few years we may see a new genre of exploitation films: HILLBILLY REVENGE.
jjgravitas7 days ago
Hey jj – that is a great summation of an emotional roller coaster of the past two weeks. I say you should market Hillbilly Revenge and clean up!
choicelady7 days ago
Hey Murph and PPO – we seeeeee you! Come on down – margaritas or whatever you like await.
choicelady7 days ago
Hi from Downunder to all USA people who are more free this day
pinkpantheroz7 days ago
PPO – that is an excellent way to describe the USA. Free this day!
choicelady7 days ago
Stole it from POTUS!
pinkpantheroz7 days ago
I had a Twitter conversation with a young Black man who is very angry that the SCOTUS ruling seems to have overwhelmed concern (in his eyes) for #BlackLivesMatter. I told him we were capable of holding both people in our hearts at the same time. It was a good conversation.
choicelady7 days ago
Hey jj–it’s been a very satisfying week, too–watching conservatives heads explode makes my head happy! Did you ever think in your lifetime you would see candidates for President of the United States of America say they will ignore the ruling(s) of the Supreme Court of the United States? And these people call President Obama a “dictator”.
glenn7 days ago
Does anyone know any more things to make Scalia explode, so we get rid of him?
pinkpantheroz7 days ago
glenn and PPO – I think we need do nothing. Scalia is hell bound on his own. Just keep the pith helmets on in case you’re too close!
choicelady7 days ago
PPO–ain’t it the truth? Despite the right wing’s “best” arguments, we are becoming more free by the day!
glenn7 days ago
I had the misfortune of knowing an anti-choice attorney who now has gone to Regents Law School. His specialty? NULLIFICATION. I would like to point out that it never worked for him. That’s the ‘up’ side.
choicelady7 days ago
hi glenn. Yes, isn’t it strange that while some are saying we’re in a dictatership and stifled by too much gummint, others have a totally opposite view, all thanks to who I consider to be the best and bravest POTUS of them all.
pinkpantheroz7 days ago
PPO – that’s the damned truth, thank you.
choicelady7 days ago
PPO–don’t know if you got a chance to see it or not, but if you do, check out the President’s eulogy to Clementa Pinckney. It was truly moving!
glenn7 days ago
I’m just up, so i haven’t seen it yet. I
pinkpantheroz7 days ago
I’ll check it out soon.
pinkpantheroz7 days ago
PPO–as for Scalia, a few more rulings like today’s and yesterday’s and we won’t have to worry about getting rid of Scalia. His embolism of hatred will explode and do it for us!
glenn7 days ago
from your lips, glenn……
pinkpantheroz7 days ago
PPO–good morning!
glenn7 days ago
glenn, GREAT morning!
pinkpantheroz7 days ago

MurphTheSurf37 days ago
Texas was paranoid, thinking that the Feds wanted to invade Texas for some unspoken reason. But if they contiunue to ban the ACA and gay marriage, we may be forced to do exactly that, invade Texas.
jjgravitas7 days ago
Let me repeat……
MurphTheSurf37 days ago
Murph–love it! Happy, happy!
glenn7 days ago
One more time…..
MurphTheSurf37 days ago
Murph – that’s joyous, thank you!
choicelady7 days ago
Ok, I got that out of my system…..no I didn’t….
MurphTheSurf37 days ago
JJ, better lay out the fish costumes, and an extra ration of rum for the men, 10-4 Rubber Duck!
pinkpantheroz7 days ago
jj–we don’t need to invade TX. Just let them stew in their own juices!
glenn7 days ago
Murph,….Wheeeeee!
pinkpantheroz7 days ago
jj – I’m with glenn. No invasion. Just cut ’em off.
choicelady7 days ago
So does anyone else think history just shifted tectonically the past two weeks?
choicelady7 days ago
why not just quarantine texas due to a very virulent epidemic of the DUMBS
pinkpantheroz7 days ago
PPO – It IS contagious. I think you’re onto something with the quarentine.
choicelady7 days ago
Folks, these past few days have made my heart leap for joy…..you know I was a navigator for ACA and a lot of people I helped get insurance were scared to death…and suddently so overwhelming relieved….and then the SCOTUS ruling on marriage equality and then THE SERMON….MY LORD,MY LORD, MY LORD…..
MurphTheSurf37 days ago
cl, in some parts, but not in the GOPTP universe.
pinkpantheroz7 days ago
PPO–as long as we allow the good people to leave before the quarantine begins. However, I think their self-imposed “quarantine” will do them in eventually. It may take more time than we’ll be on this earth, but as CL just said, history seems to be shifting tectonically, so it may occur sooner than we think.
glenn7 days ago
Imagine that, if we let Texas secede from the Union, & cut them off from all support. Since they don’t properly tax their rich propler, they would go broke almost immediately. They’d be like North Korea, a pariah state.
jjgravitas7 days ago
Murph – I’ve been MIA because I’ve been traveling doing trainings on how to create worker cooperatives. One trip took me for 2 days to a AME church in the middle of nowhere in Eastern San Bernardino county. After the shootings, I had to work with our US Attorney over security for those good and wonderful people. So todays’ sermon from the President resonated in a way it might not have done earlier. Those are MY folks if not in SC then here.
choicelady7 days ago
jj -Texas as North Korea on our southern border? Shudder.
choicelady7 days ago
Hello Planeteers! Hope everyone is well!
Sabreen607 days ago
Murph–isn’t that the truth? All the haters can spew their hate; joy is in our hearts and they can’t take that away from us!
glenn7 days ago
SABREEN!!! How are you dear heart?
choicelady7 days ago
hey sabreen! welcome to a joyous VP!
pinkpantheroz7 days ago
CL…I watched most of the service today from the basement of a local AME church whose members are among the oldest families in my county…almost all the descendents of slaves.
MurphTheSurf37 days ago
Sabreen – you have been so powerful, so thought provoking over at TPV. Thank you for everything you’ve said. I wrote a blog post on exactly what you said. I’ll DM you with the info.
choicelady7 days ago
Sabreen–we are all giddy with joy. The two SCOTUS rulings and the moving and gracefull (spelling intentional) eulogy given by our great President has filled us all with hope and joy!
glenn7 days ago
Murph- that must have been amazing. There is such warmth and joy and pain all mixed together in those communities!
choicelady7 days ago
Glenn….so true….
MurphTheSurf37 days ago
CL…it was…
MurphTheSurf37 days ago
Everyone – glenn has coined a new word: gracefull that I think we should adopt.
choicelady7 days ago
Murph – I’m glad you were there.
choicelady7 days ago
Gracefull, grace-filled, gracious….
MurphTheSurf37 days ago
Murph – her ‘gracefull’ is all encompassing I think!
choicelady7 days ago
what happened in SC following the refusal of the relatives to be bitter is also a tectonic shift in the way to combat racism. Oh, anybody notice that, without riots and disruptio, not a peep from Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson?
pinkpantheroz7 days ago
CL ,Murph–if it makes your heart sing and brings a smile to your face, then it’s gracefull.
glenn7 days ago
PPO….Sharpton was there but just one of many….many more mature and balanced I might add
MurphTheSurf37 days ago
Glenn….I agree
MurphTheSurf37 days ago
PPO – I don’t think Sharpton or Jackson are silent because of peace. I think it’s because justice is being served – the perpetrator HAS finally been arrested. The DOJ is pursuing this as both a hate crime AND domestic terrorism. When justice is done, no one needs to be enraged.
choicelady7 days ago
BRB
glenn7 days ago
Murph, sorry, I didn’t see him in the coverage here.
pinkpantheroz7 days ago
anyone want another laugh? Bobby Jindal! ROFLMAO
pinkpantheroz7 days ago
PPO -= people ask when there IS Black perpetrated crime against white people why the outrage isn’t there. It’s because the Black perps get arrested immediately. The fury is because white perps walk.
choicelady7 days ago
CL…I am no fan of Al or Jesse….I have been in too many places where they wander in, suck the oxygen from the room, and then leave those left behind gasping…..
MurphTheSurf37 days ago
Thanks all. I doing well. This has been quite a week. SCOTUS rulings have been pitch perfect. The murders of the 9 in Charleston were devastating. The families of the victims grace was truly uplifting. President Obama’s Eulogy was amazing. And as someone said his singing of Amazing Grace in E flat (the blackest note for blues) was just that amazing.
Sabreen607 days ago
PPO – Jindal generates laughs just cuz!!! He has yet to utter a single sensible thing.
choicelady7 days ago
Sabreen…..we are all signing in the same choir – The Obama Sonata!
MurphTheSurf37 days ago
Sabreen – I actually KNEW that. I have heard that discussion about Amazing Grace on the “Black notes” before, and saw him do that and just got goosebumps.
choicelady7 days ago
CL – You’ve been knocking them out the park on TPV!
Sabreen607 days ago
Sorry, sabreen, cl, but what is TPV?
pinkpantheroz7 days ago
Sabreen – YOU said what absolutely was needed after the murders! I have taken it to heart and wrote an essay: “White people? This is on us!” I used a lot of what you’d given us all from your heart.
choicelady7 days ago
PPO – “The Peoples View” where we also intersect, she and I. It’s thepeoplesview.net. Good stuff there as well as here.
choicelady7 days ago
CL – I had NEVER heard that about E Flat. At first, I said to myself why is POTUS singing so low. I know he sings at least one octave higher, then I read the tweet.
Sabreen607 days ago
Thanks, cl. I’ll check it out
pinkpantheroz7 days ago
brb, smoko!
pinkpantheroz7 days ago
Oh CL – You are so kind
Sabreen607 days ago
Sabreen – if i can find it on my office computer, I will send you the link to the story behind the song – it comes from slave laments heard by sea captains shipping slaves. It’s powerful and heart breaking. It’s the music played exclusively on the Black piano keys.
choicelady7 days ago
PPO – try vaping. You can do it at your desk! LOL!!!
choicelady7 days ago
Sabreen – what you said went to the core of my heart. Thank you.
choicelady7 days ago
Bobby Jindal makes me cringe. He brings the concept of Dumb Southerner down to a whole new level. AND he’s running for president. Ugh.
jjgravitas7 days ago
Sabreen and Choice….Amazing Grace, John Newton’s story….
https://en.wikipedia.org/?title=Amazing_Grace
MurphTheSurf37 days ago
jj – I’d love to think Jindal is comic relief, but he’s nasty.
choicelady7 days ago
Jindal, Walker and Christie are all from states suffering as a result of their “leadership” and yet they think they are presidential caliber….
MurphTheSurf37 days ago
Murph – the version I have is from a wonderful Black musician who tells and plays the music in ways that make you hear it incredibly differently. I’ll send it.
choicelady7 days ago
Murph- They are Orwellian – failure is success.
choicelady7 days ago
CL…I would like that.
MurphTheSurf37 days ago
On another note – Jill Stein is back in the race for president as a Green. In 2012 she got .36% of the vote, but she thinks she can beat Bernie who isn’t progressive enough for her.
choicelady7 days ago
Murph, I’ve read about Newton. There was myth about him composing the song “Amazing Grace” on a slave ship once he’d seen the light. I wish that were true, but it isn’t. He continued to be a slave trader for years after he wrote the song.
Sabreen607 days ago
Is that so Sabreen…..I need to look into it.
MurphTheSurf37 days ago
CL–thanks for the info on the E flat. As always, I learn something here on the Planet. As Sabreen said I wondered why POTUS was singing so low, also
glenn7 days ago
Sabreen – I think (do not remember clearly) the video I’ll send makes that clear. But guilt and sorrow may have been factors anyway.
choicelady7 days ago
I could look this up, but I will ask – when did “Lift Every Voice” become the “Black National Anthem?” Methodist women use it in mixed groups, and it’s powerful.
choicelady7 days ago
CL–I’ve done two online surveys which purport to tell you what party your views are most in line with. Both times, I have come out as most fitted to the Green Party. However, as we’ve all discussed many times, the “Ralph Nader effect” stops me from voting anything other than as a Democrat. I just can’t take the chance that a republican will become POTUS because of my vote.
glenn7 days ago
funksands7 days ago
CL….”Lift Every Voice and Sing” was publicly performed first as a poem as part of a celebration of Lincoln’s Birthday on February 12, 1900, by 500 school children at the segregated Stanton School. Its principal, James Weldon Johnson, wrote the words to introduce its honored guest Booker T. Washington. The poem was set to music soon after by Johnson’s brother John in 1900. In 1919, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) dubbed it “The Negro National Anthem” for its power in voicing the cry for liberation and affirmation for African American people
MurphTheSurf37 days ago
glenn – I think that’s true of many of us. Spandan over at The People’s View had a wonderful new way of describing us all- PATIENT progressives. The issue isn’t that we don’t agree. The issue is our understanding of how change works well. And how it doesn’t. Jill Stein’s platform is almost identical to PBO’s – but he takes time.
choicelady7 days ago
CL – I’m not sure, but I think it was after the Civil Rights movement.
Sabreen607 days ago
Glenn, get involved locally and get your Green party candidate elected to a school board or county commissioner position
funksands7 days ago
CL, someone thinks Bernie’s not “progressive enough”? Isn’t he the most left leaning person currently running for POTUS! We have to watch out for these purity arguments. Its the same trap that the GOP has fallen into with their “not conservative enough”. You go too much in one direction you can lose perspective.
jjgravitas7 days ago
THANK you, Murph – Sabreen I know it got currency during the civil rights movement.
choicelady7 days ago
Funk….I am so happy you said hello with this image….killed at Yabberz.
MurphTheSurf37 days ago
Hey Funk! How are you? Love that!
glenn7 days ago
Thanks Murph.
Sabreen607 days ago
I’m really good. My wife just hung the biggest rainbow flag on our patio. We are so thrilled today
funksands7 days ago
Yes – Jill Stein thinks Bernie sells out. In a sense she’s right – he voted AGAINST funds to close Gitmo and opposed the Brady gun act. He has been virtually silent on race and prison justice issues. But she’s nuts. Sorry but she is.
choicelady7 days ago
funk – that image rocks! How are YOU?
choicelady7 days ago
Funk…I was thinking of hanging a similar flag but settled for my Lucky Charms….why tempt the fates around here.
MurphTheSurf37 days ago
Excellent
funksands7 days ago
SCOTUS also ruled on housing discrimination. Seems it’s still unconstitutional.
Sabreen607 days ago
Murph – one needs to assess the situation, and you did.
choicelady7 days ago
Hiya Funk!
Sabreen607 days ago
My wife is no shrinking violet. She likes you to know exactly where she stands at all times
funksands7 days ago
Hey kitty!
funksands7 days ago
Sabreen – I think the housing decision is HUGELY important, but it’s kind of been lost in the media blitz.
choicelady7 days ago
CL…indeed….big meeting tomorrow for the group that is PUSHING Medicaid expansion in Mo…..new energy behind that now.
MurphTheSurf37 days ago
Funk–this will sound like an excuse, but it’s hard to find a local Democratic candidate to support around here; let alone a Green Party candidate. But I’ll keep looking!
glenn7 days ago
Murph – oh wow – that is GREAT. I wish everyone well on that.
choicelady7 days ago
CL – It is huge, but you’re right. So much going on.
Sabreen607 days ago
glenn – I can see how you’d have progressive drought there!
choicelady7 days ago
Glenn, its not an excuse, its just difficult. The more local the election the more that just 3-4 interested people can get a toehold for sanity. Even in Georgia
funksands7 days ago
Sabreen – I think in a way beside ACA and marriage, this is one of the MOST important things ever. Ending housing discrimination has huge ramifications on all kinds of issues.
choicelady7 days ago

choicelady7 days ago
Funk–I know, I volunteer with a progressive teacher, who is retiring this year. She is very active in local politics, and I plan to get more involved with her when summer is over. Right now, I “work” from 7 a.m. until around 7 or 8 p.m. taking care of my granddaughter and her cousin, who is visiting. Once summer is over, and I have more “free” time, I will hook up more with my friend.
glenn7 days ago
What a roller-coaster of a week. I’m exhausted just living it. From breathing a sigh of relief about the ACA to Charleston to SCOTUS I am wiped!
funksands7 days ago
Holy cow, that doesn’t sound “retired” to me…

funksands7 days ago
Funk my world is ok. It’s only ok cuz I haz a sad about myself. I’ve got to have surgery.
Sabreen607 days ago
Good on ’em!
glenn7 days ago
That photo of the 82 and 85 year old men getting married is both happy and sad – why the HELL did they have to wait so damned long???
choicelady7 days ago
I was a mess looking at all of the fantastic pictures today
funksands7 days ago
CL, a good politician knows how to pick his battles. If you try to be for everything you think is good you will fail, and the failure will be your legacy. That’s why Bill Clinton and Barak Obama are such great presidents. They both accomplished great things without overreaching. And Obama’s still got somee left.
jjgravitas7 days ago
SABREEN – what surgery and when? I’m so sorry!
choicelady7 days ago
Surgery? WTF? You are too young and hot for plastic surgery
funksands7 days ago
JJ, some ‘Lame Duck”, eh?
pinkpantheroz7 days ago
jj – I totally agree, though not as much about Clinton who too often caved to the right.
choicelady7 days ago
CL, I know exactly what you mean
funksands7 days ago
PPO – LAME duck? I think not.
choicelady7 days ago
Sabreen–sorry to hear about your surgery. Will it be soon?
glenn7 days ago
Sabreen, prayers winging your way.
pinkpantheroz7 days ago
CL – It’s kind of embarrassing. I need to have a hiatal hernia fixed. It’s lost it mind and taking over other’s turfs.
Sabreen607 days ago
Pres Obama’s legacy is looking sweeter in his “Lame Duck” years, as the rest of the country is catching up to him.
jjgravitas7 days ago
Sabreen – that’s icky, but when it’s done, you will be SO HAPPY!
choicelady7 days ago
After the Presidents Speech today, I called the White House Comment line along with the 100 or so who watched the eulogy at the local AME church (whose membership is still almost entirely drawn from those who are descendants of slaves)…I told the operator who we were, the minister got on and assured her that what I said was so and then we all said in unison: “Thank You Mister President, You Make Our Hearts Proud” and then we applauded. The operator asked us to hold on….a supervisor came on and told us she would expedite our call so that it got to WH West Wing Staff…..felt like the campaign days again.
MurphTheSurf37 days ago
Funk – I’m not opposed to a little nip and tuck. But I’m hitting and holding for a foxy old broad.
Sabreen607 days ago
MURPH – that is SO GREAT!!! Thank you for doing that!!!
choicelady7 days ago
JJ…hi….yes….this lame duck is an American Eagle.
MurphTheSurf37 days ago
Not embarrassing at all, sabreen. Best of luck for a good fix. My wife has had one for years, not as badly as needing surgery
pinkpantheroz7 days ago
Sabreen – you even WRITE foxy. Go girl!
choicelady7 days ago
Murph–that’s great!
glenn7 days ago
Thanks PPO.
Sabreen607 days ago
One thing the President won’t get the credit due to him for is digging a trench and not letting triangulation occur on his watch. Reid and Pelosi deserve credit as well. It would have been so easy to give in and author and sign compromise legislation that sold the nation down the river. At least complete paralysis was the worst that happened.
funksands7 days ago
funk – that is why PBO is always and will be better than Clinton who caved.
choicelady7 days ago
That eulogy today was something really special.
funksands7 days ago
funk -AMEN!
choicelady7 days ago
CL – We must stay positive as gravity begins to take over.
Sabreen607 days ago
Funk, fine observation re. triangulation.
MurphTheSurf37 days ago
Sabreen – I’ve taken to standing on my head. Faint hope it will shift upward…
choicelady7 days ago
The GOP has only cost the nation $20 Trillion in lost economic capacity, but without strong leadership untold damage could have occurred.
funksands7 days ago
CL–ow–doesn’t standing on your head hurt?
glenn7 days ago
WOW Murph, that was awesome!
Sabreen607 days ago
glenn – actually I can’t, but I do do Pilates and other things to limit the downward migration.
choicelady7 days ago
Sabreen, tequlia is a preservative and skin toner
funksands7 days ago
funk – thou sayest about the tequila! Sabreen – maybe that’s why Aquagranny is so feisty?
choicelady7 days ago
JJ, you are in Towson? My mom lived there for almost 20 years
funksands7 days ago
JJ and funk – where the hell IS Towson?
choicelady7 days ago
Funk – No you didn’t go there!
Sabreen607 days ago
funk – I like your new GPS locatin in the FEMA camp
choicelady7 days ago
CL–my 48-year-old daughter does Pilates, yoga, and she got a punching bag for Christmas (with pink punching gloves) which she uses when she has a particularly stressful day at work (she manages an 18-story historical office building in downtown Atlanta–with an attached parking garage), so she has to deal with a lot of stress!
glenn7 days ago
Funk, Im actually in Silver Spring MD.
jjgravitas7 days ago
Choice, 50 miles north of Maryland?
funksands7 days ago
glenn – Spinning helps with my stress and a little weight lifting.
Sabreen607 days ago
glenn – I think it comes down to “use it or lose it”. I walk, do Pilates, and sit cross legged on the couch. If you KEEP doing things, you won’t lose your capacity to DO those things. I am very flexible for my age!
choicelady7 days ago
JJ, that’s a nice area!
funksands7 days ago
funk and jj – that is helpful. I had no clue.
choicelady7 days ago
Choice, you got it, the key to just about everything is to “move”
funksands7 days ago
Thanks, I think so.
jjgravitas7 days ago
funk – absolutely. Worst thing people do is sit. Second worst is to sit and shovel in bad food. And upon this rests my not fanatical gospel of adequate health. I am no extremist, but I do think being capable into your later years is a ways to be happy.
choicelady7 days ago
I think a former President of Towson University just died.
Sabreen607 days ago
CL–good for you! I am very sparodic with my exercise, which actually comes down to next to nothing, so other people who keep with it have my admiration!
glenn7 days ago
I’ve been trying to help a lot of worried people today on-line. Wondering if their religious liberty will be affected by the ruling…..
funksands7 days ago
I just tell them “Absolutely it will. You are so screwed”
funksands7 days ago
I walk a lot. I do like aerobics (gentle) and still can boogie with the best of them, but I’m not about to join a gym.
choicelady7 days ago
Funk – Now where is your “grace”
Sabreen607 days ago
I have an exercise regime that is aimed at three things….keeping my knees, keeping my weight under control, and keeping my stamina
MurphTheSurf37 days ago
Jeez Sabreen, thanks for the downer
funksands7 days ago
Funk–those poor persecuted xtians. Tell them that “god is on their side” and they need not worry.
glenn7 days ago
Swimming is excellent for all those things. Not always easy to find a pool to get access to nearby
funksands7 days ago
For anyone who’s interested, I’m currently watching The X-Files, Season 7 on DVD. First episode, The Sixth Extinction. As old as the X-Files is, it’s amazing how it’s still comeletely relevant.
jjgravitas7 days ago
But Glenn, what about the children?
funksands7 days ago
Murph, same here. Some people don’t seem to need exercise so much. I’m not one of those. My doc told me if I don’t want to end up in a wheel chair – EXERCISE.
Sabreen607 days ago
funk – upon the religious freedom issue I am an expert. NO church will be required to do same sex weddings, and preachers can speak freely from the pulpit. The issue of business IS different – it’s a public accomodation. But as for religious practices and churches ? If the Catholic church never got sued for refusing to marry divorced people, then no church will ever have to do what is beyond its scope of belief.
choicelady7 days ago
JJ, are you excited for the new X-Files series!??
funksands7 days ago
Anyone living close to there those 2 escapees are – well, one now
pinkpantheroz7 days ago
Sab…I farm and without my health my livelihood is in trouble.
MurphTheSurf37 days ago
Funk–not to worry again. Didn’t JC say “suffer the little children unto me?”
glenn7 days ago
Choice, you don’t get married in a church anyway. You have a ceremony. The ruling is about marriage which only the state can effect
funksands7 days ago
Funk – payback is bitch. You know your tequila comment
Sabreen607 days ago
funk – THERE’S A NEW X FILES??????? OMG!
choicelady7 days ago
Murph – are you OK these days? I tend to worry ONLY when you talk about it.
choicelady7 days ago
Yep! David and Gillian are filming as we speak!
funksands7 days ago
CL….I am doing fine….thanks for the concern.
MurphTheSurf37 days ago
glenn, the word ‘suffer’ in this case means ‘allow the children….’ As in ‘here on Sufference”
pinkpantheroz7 days ago
Funk, Yes I am. I’m also looking forward to the new Twin Peaks series. Both shows were smart enough that they could make it as new series continuing the story.

funk – civil ceremonies are intrinsic to legal protection for families and their property, taxes, etc. We have given that over to churches, but they actually do weddings, not marriages. So churches that don’t wish to do same sex marriage OR wedding are fine.
choicelady7 days ago
PPO–thanks for explaining that to me. So, doesn’t that mean that the children have “god on their side” too?
glenn7 days ago
Sure does, g.
pinkpantheroz7 days ago
CL…my minister says that the issue of Sacramental Matrimony is one that every church is now going to have to take up to create a standard response in each denomination…..
MurphTheSurf37 days ago
PPO – thank you SO much for that ‘suffer’ the little children. It does put it on the listener – the adults: tolerate the children to come unto me. Anyone not knowing that is an ass.
choicelady7 days ago
I’m taking the Twin Peaks re-boot with a grain of salt, but I hope its really good
funksands7 days ago
Almost every pro-equality denomination has sacramental rites for same sex people. UCC, Episcopalian, etc.
choicelady7 days ago
My 10-year old got up with us this morning to watch the coverage of the decision. He was really into it.

funk – I never watched Twin Peaks but actually know the actress who played the Log Lady. She lives inAshland OR, works at the Shakespeare Festival and is a friend of a friend.
choicelady7 days ago
CL…in all of Europe….you get your license from the “state”. It is a social contract, signed by the parties and witnessed. You are “married” from that moment on. Many have a ceremonial experience in tandem with this: some are religious and some are not. No license, no contract, no ceremony.
MurphTheSurf37 days ago
funk – that is so cool of your son.
choicelady7 days ago
Time for me to call it a night, good people. It’s been a busy week. Hope the joy of the last couple of days lasts for a long time for everyone. I won’t be here next week because my sister is coming to visit, so I’ll see you all in two weeks. Take care everyone, and spread the joy!
glenn7 days ago
Murph – we should ALL do this: civil ceremony for the marriage. Weddings for those who want them, religious or secular.
choicelady7 days ago
Good night, glenn. See you soon I hope! Have a great weekend!
choicelady7 days ago
I lover the Log Lady, she was nuts. At one with nature, seemingly, chewing that nasty sap.
jjgravitas7 days ago
Murph – religious or Kardashian opulence?
choicelady7 days ago
He’s an amazing kid with a huge heart. He didn’t believe us when we first told him that same-sex couples didn’t used to be able to get married. The Charleston/Baltimore/Cleveland/Fergeson issue is even more confusing. He simply doesn’t get the whole racial issue. Baffled.
funksands7 days ago
Night Glenn!
funksands7 days ago
jj the actress is an excellent performer, and she is vastly more attractive in person than on stage or TV.
choicelady7 days ago
This evening I was at our coop tonight and several of our members were arguing about the SCOTUS decision…it got heated. They all had their teens there because we were moving things and their muscle is of value. 15 minutes into the argument, someone asked the kids. Their response….No big deal (even the Southern Baptist kids)
MurphTheSurf37 days ago
Goodnight Glenn
MurphTheSurf37 days ago
funk – I’m glad your kid doesn’t understand race hate.
choicelady7 days ago
Murph – one more generation? These things are not issues.
choicelady7 days ago
Choice speaking of Kardashian, have you come across the Twitter handle Kim Kirkegaarddashian? Best account on there.
funksands7 days ago
funk – nope but I will look!
choicelady7 days ago
Choice: One of my favorites: “Develop your self-consciousness until you confront the ideal of eternal good. Beyond that, you should really take care of your skin.”
funksands7 days ago
Another topic….I have it from a good source, that Biden is going to put his hat in the ring……by September…..
MurphTheSurf37 days ago
Good night glenn. Have a great weekend.
Sabreen607 days ago
Murph – that is outstanding news! Thank you.
choicelady7 days ago
Murph, I would be very surprised if he did that. VERY
funksands7 days ago
funk – that is a hoot!
choicelady7 days ago
I’m signing off. Good night everyone.
jjgravitas7 days ago
Funk…why? He does not need much in the way of money or organization…..he wants to be in the debates….foreign policy is the key reason.
MurphTheSurf37 days ago
Murph and funk – I like the idea he would wait. Wont’ be stale.
choicelady7 days ago
“Thanks for watching the new episode! We throw ourselves into futile, inconsequential pursuits because we have not learned to love ourselves.”
funksands7 days ago
JJ….good night.
MurphTheSurf37 days ago
Night JJ! Great seeing you here
funksands7 days ago
Good night, jj – lovely having you here. See you soon I hope. Happy weekend!
choicelady7 days ago
G’night JJ, glenn
pinkpantheroz7 days ago
What is different about his positions from Hillary’s?
funksands7 days ago
I’ve got to go do something. May be away for a bit. If y’all are gone when I return, have a great weekend!
funksands7 days ago
Good night jj. Take care.
Sabreen607 days ago
I just discovered that if I put the cursor over ANY of your handles, it says “Ignore User”. I find that very dehumanizing and kinda creepy.
choicelady7 days ago
Good night funk if you must – see you soon!
choicelady7 days ago
CL – I noticed that some time ago.
Sabreen607 days ago
Funk….don’t know precisely, but my source is a former Obama campaign core staffer who knows the Biden inner circle. Perhaps he wants another person on the stage.
MurphTheSurf37 days ago
Sabreen – that’s sort of weird, isn’t it?
choicelady7 days ago
CL…it is a glitch…Ad Lib knows about it.
MurphTheSurf37 days ago
Murph – well i don’t take orders well, so screw the tech directions!
choicelady7 days ago
So no one mentioned TPA and TAA so I’m bold enough to do it
Sabreen607 days ago
that explains it, murph. I was beginning to wonder..
pinkpantheroz7 days ago
Consider Hillary, Bernie, Martin, Jim, Lincoln, and Joe on stage and compare that to the GOP clown car…
MurphTheSurf37 days ago
Murph – that sounds like a pretty ‘inside’ source. I know Hillary has gotten more assertive on issues we care about, but I still trust Biden more.
choicelady7 days ago
CL – Me too. But I don’t think Biden is going to run.
Sabreen607 days ago
Sabreen – the devil made you do it? I think we won’t know what we know until we know it. My lobbyist way of saying we need to ‘read the bill’. NOW we will be able to do so when it’s ready!
choicelady7 days ago
cl, murph, wouldn’t it be great if Joe went for it? But I worry about his health and the effect the loss of his son would do for his stasmina
pinkpantheroz7 days ago
CL – Just meant TPA and TAA passed. Right?
Sabreen607 days ago
Sabreen – where are you these days on O’Malley? We all got peeved at him, but he’s gotten so little attention I hope you[re hearing more?
choicelady7 days ago
CL….yes, she is inside and I think she told me because that is one of the ways they are getting the word out. I have noticed how much more evident Joe is in the company of Barack in the last two months. I think he wants to be seen as the bearer of the Obama mantle AND I think that Barack is not opposed to this as Barack has concerns about Hillary’s Big Money connections.
MurphTheSurf37 days ago
Sabreen – I know TAA did. I”m lost on TPA. Not sure if it’s both houses or just one. This week blasted it out of my head.
choicelady7 days ago
CL – He “tore his drawers” with me. What a disappointment.
Sabreen607 days ago
Sabreen – oh, I’m sorry. I know how much you wanted him in the race to really ‘speak truth to power’. Sigh.
choicelady7 days ago
I must say I’ve become a “Bernie where are you on racism and unfair incarceration’ person – if he can’t do more than ‘tax the rich’ he doesn’t deserve to run much less be elected.
choicelady7 days ago
CL – Well it’s always good to find out about possible candidates in advance re Edwards
Sabreen607 days ago
Sabreen – yes, I’d gotten snookered by Edwards before BPO came my way, and I am SO GLAD I dropped off the bandwagon!
choicelady7 days ago
Well, gang…..I need to scoot….I have to be up with the birds to do quite a bit of replanting….we have had way too much rain and a number of plants have gotten root rot and died. Then I am off to the Medicaid expansion meeting….hope to catch a film tomorrow late afternoon and then a nice dinner with friends. Wish All of You All the very best.
MurphTheSurf37 days ago
well, I gotta toddle off and do stuff. What a great Vox, on a great day for all America.
pinkpantheroz7 days ago
Good night Murph – and may your replanting go well. If you’re tired of the rain, blow hard on the clouds and send them west. WE need it!
choicelady7 days ago
CL…how I wish I could do that.
MurphTheSurf37 days ago
I’ll sign off with what I signed on with…. America is more free this day.
pinkpantheroz7 days ago
Good night, PPO – have a grand weekend basking in the glow of the USA finally moving into the 21st century!
choicelady7 days ago
Murph, you are impressive. Getter done. Take care.
Sabreen607 days ago
CL…..I have the same kind of thoughts about Bernie….he has a very sharp, some would say narrow, focus.
MurphTheSurf37 days ago
PPO…what a great slogan.
MurphTheSurf37 days ago
Murph – it’s freaking 103 here. We are facing ZERO water in local reservoirs.
choicelady7 days ago
I’m going to say good night, also. I’ll see you CL over at TPV and Twitter. I also see Funk sometimes on Twitter. Take care everyone.
Sabreen607 days ago
Sab….we are an impressive crowd here….it is why I am back almost every week.
MurphTheSurf37 days ago
Thank you Murph and PPO – great convo!
choicelady7 days ago
CL…great job tonight…many thanks….
MurphTheSurf37 days ago
Good night to all – short and sweet but a good evening. See you soon I hope!
choicelady7 days ago
Thanks Murph – be well and good digging!
choicelady7 days ago
Well Planeteers – tonight was a short discussion, but there will be more soon. Come join us next week when we take up some OTHER issues. Good night and sweet dreams to everyone!
