So I will say about PBO that the request was, to me, historic. He made very clear that the intervention is to keep local forces supported but that the work of fighting ISIL is theirs. When he said “enduring” that is what the media pounced on, but he’d made it VERY clear that we were NOT GOING IN as we’d done in Iraq and Afghanistan. It’s not ours to fight. It is theirs. We can support them, but we cannot tell them what to do.
