Thanksgiving is a special kind of holiday, despite the encroachment on it by materialism, there isn’t any materialistic component to the holiday itself. It’s about taking a break from running the race and looking around one’s life to family and friends and the good things in one’s life that one is fortunate to have. In essence, it’s really a very nourishing (in many ways!) and soulful holiday to celebrate life and the things that truly matter.
So today’s theme is about the joys of being alive, love, kindness, compassion, all the wonderful traits of being human and all that we have to be grateful for in being alive. So whether it’s a song about such things or just a song that makes you feel joyful and want to jump up and dance, post your picks of songs that express for you what a wonderful world it can be.
What a Wonderful World – Louis Armstrong
Kind and Generous – Natalie Merchant
Happy – Pharrell Williams
Good Day Sunshine – The Beatles
