EBOLA! FOLKS!
Harleigh

glenn

Wht’s up, Harleigh?
adlib 4 hours ago

Evening, SLM. How are you?
glenn

gleenn, our ABC is Government run, so no ads or political leanings ( yeah right!). Much less manipulation than the Murdoch and Packer driven commercial stations
pinkpantheroz

well glenn and you?
sillylittleme

aw great…. OK…uh…. BEGHAZI!!
Harleigh

BENGHAZI!!
Harleigh

Hey, didn’t I hear something just a couple weeks ago, coincidentally just before the election, about Ebola and ISIS coming to kill us thanks to Obama? What ever happened with that?
adlib 4 hours ago

Whitewaterbolsgazigate
pinkpantheroz

Harleigh–too early for Benghazi. We have to wait until Hillary says she is going to run!

glenn

Ad, yes, how quiet everything’s got all of a sudden
pinkpantheroz

over the southern border with prayer blankeys and korans.
Harleigh

PPO–That’s interesting. Do you mean to tell me you get to watch a program all the way through with no interruptions?
glenn

You all know now that the US is Ebola free right now, right? It’s been on all the news channels that terrified the public that Ebola was coming to wipe us all out, right?
adlib 3 hours ago

Why haven’t they started the Howdy Gowdy Show yet??
Harleigh

SM–I’m fine when I’m in my house, but if I have to go outside; it’s damn cold!
glenn

glenn, yes!
pinkpantheroz

Heh – The tv host said, “This is the more Australian event…since there are more Australians involved.” Brilliant.
adlib 3 hours ago

beatlex

Hey SLM, did you do something with your hair or lose weight? You look a bit different tonite.
Harleigh

slm, it was gone before I got up at 9am.
killgoretrout

Harleigh

He’s laying it on with a trowel, but good reception
pinkpantheroz

I guess you guys saw the aussies with their heads in the sand? Pretty funny, and to the point.
killgoretrout

So…after Obama bars deportation for 5 million immigrants, what do you think the GOP will do? Impeach? Shut down the government with an ultimatum attached to the budget or defecit ceiling bill? Just whine and call him a dictator?
adlib 3 hours ago

slm- floriduh came thru and re-elected Skeketor.
Harleigh

Ad–Yes to all of your questions.
glenn

AdLib.probably all of the above
beatlex

I think the impeachment threat is just a lot of the usual hot air.
killgoretrout

yes ad
Harleigh

Ad–What is happening with the boner’s lawsuit against POTUS?
glenn

ad – that and the kitchen sink
sillylittleme

KT, its just the usual GOP time-and-money wasting shit that they use to camoflage their lack of any action.
pinkpantheroz

nazi soshalust fashust commie dicktator!
Harleigh

sillylittleme

You missed Muslim, Harleigh!
pinkpantheroz

I wrote that in baggerese
Harleigh

SLM, that too!
pinkpantheroz

glenn – The lawsuit was just a BS move to block impeachment. It would take years to go through and The House has no standing to sue anyway.
adlib 3 hours ago

I think the GOP’s promise to actually govern is going to bite them in their tired old asses. They don’t know how to govern.
killgoretrout

PPO–IMO, the GOP won’t impeach. The threat is much more “productive” for them than the actual action.
glenn

an mooslem colonist! LMAO
Harleigh

Wouldn’t impeachment be a huge mistake for Repubs? As it was when they did the same to Clinton? And do they really want a President Biden?
adlib 3 hours ago

Harleigh, isn’t that just what the radical muslims want – to colonise the world?
pinkpantheroz

PPO – I thought Obama was an anti-colonialist?
adlib 3 hours ago

I think it is a masterstroke for the President to come out swinging. The R’s will overplay their hand,as usual
beatlex

Hi everyone! Can’t stay but posted a story that the second or third law firm just quit in the Boehner impeachment fiasco.
kalima

The GOP is just a bunch of blowhards.
killgoretrout

Beatlex – I’m glad Obama decided to follow my open letter to him.

adlib 3 hours ago

Ad–I really don’t know if impeachment, in this particular political climate, would be a mistake. It would continue to energize their base. And, after this last election, I’m not sure anything will energize the Democratic base. What a bunch of lazy asses! (Democrats, I mean.)
glenn

That was quite a letter Ad!
killgoretrout

Hey Kalima!!! Thanks for that update, very cool!!!
adlib 3 hours ago

thanks kalima
sillylittleme

I dunno ppo…. It’s a Obama slur that makes no more sense than other bagger bullshit because they don’t known the meaning of most of the words. I hate baggers in case anyony missed that.
Harleigh

Adlib, you are a smart guy,so is the President

beatlex

Kalima, good to hear. Will the repubs ever get the message that their lawsuit has no merit?
glenn

Oops! There’s the doorbell. Have a great chat and be safe.
kalima

glenn – But Presidential election aren’t about the base, they’re about getting indies and minorities to vote for you. Big mistake to impeach IMHO and that’s why estabishment Repubs are trying to prevent it.
adlib 3 hours ago

KT – Thanks so much, pal!
adlib 3 hours ago

Is Keystone going to go through? I wonder.
killgoretrout

Ad–could be. But I don’t trust independents or Dems or minorities any more. I’m sorry to have to say that; but after this election, I’m really bummed.
glenn

Beatlex – Cheers! I think he may be a tad smarter than me though. Just a tad, give or take…
adlib 3 hours ago

BRB
pinkpantheroz

KT–Didn’t the house pass the Keystone today?
glenn

Seeya Kalima! Great to see you here!
adlib 3 hours ago

this was the lowest voter turnout in like more years than I’ve been around and we had way fewer eligible voters way back then.
Harleigh

Yeah, I think they did.
killgoretrout

harleigh – we had record numbers and still only one third of those eligible…
sillylittleme

So what if Congress passes Keystone? The EPA and Fed agencies get the final say on something that could be a threat to the environment.
adlib 3 hours ago

KT–So what do you think the Senate will do? And, will POTUS approve Keystone or veto it, (if it passes the Senate, that is).
glenn

glenn just remember though that we were rid of whackdoodle Bachmann but the baggers put in like 10 more. comedy gold
Harleigh

Harleigh–you mean like hog castrater Joni Ernst?
glenn

My guess is that Obama will veto Keystone and have the EPA block it.
adlib 3 hours ago

Ad–I hope so. I don’t like some of the stories I’ve seen about what tar sands are doing in Canada. Any input on that, Beatlex?
glenn

Glad Obama just reminded Australians and the world of the Russian shooting down of a commercial airliner and murdering innocent people over Ukraine.
adlib 3 hours ago

thats a whackdoodle for sure, and the new asshole from OK replacing Coburn will erase the debt with jebus. BWAHAHAHAHA
Harleigh

Hey Murph, are you really here?
glenn

I don’t know glenn. I know Obama wants more info about the benefits and possible harms. He said that a lot of the oil will be going all over the world. It won’t really increase our supplies by any great margin.
killgoretrout

Harleigh–So jeebus is going to pay off the debt? Cool. Guess he’ll use church donations, right?

glenn

we get none of the fuel, it is a china canada deal. we take all the risks and refine it. fewr than 70 new fulltime jobs.
Harleigh

KT – My theory is that Obama was holding back on blocking Keystone before the election. I think he and the EPA will come out to block it now.
adlib 3 hours ago

Canada, where the oil will be coming from will be under no obligation to pay for any clean up if there is a spill or major leak in the pipeline.
killgoretrout

KT–Sometimes I like our POTUS’ thoughtful and deliberate ways. And, other times, such as Keystone, I don’t. I truly believe there is enough information out there about tar sands, plus given the fact that the oil is not for the U.S. are two great reasons to veto it, IMO.
glenn

Glenn, first of all,tar is a man made product.the propper term is bitumen. Our economy in Alberta is built around it.And is important to Canada’s bottom line too.We have monied interests as you do in America, and they are winning the battle right now.Money and jobs talk, anywhere in the world.
beatlex

all true beatlex
Harleigh

Beatlex–thanks for the correction. Have you had any environmental problems with the bitumen?
glenn

glenn it is a real bigtime destroyer.
Harleigh

Ad–I hope POTUS blocks it–from your blog to Obama’s pen.

Harleigh

Murph – Glad all is well now!
adlib 3 hours ago

I know that the Alberta government is spending on research to find cleaner methods of extraction. We are certainly doing more than other fossil fuel based economies. That is why it is so big that the US and China came to that agreement. The big players have to be on board
beatlex

I hope the pipeline doesn’t go thru but Obame should veto it, and let me add that Mary Landriu(?) is a big fat piece of whale shit IMHO
Harleigh

Beatlex–glad to hear Alberta is doing research. I hope you don’t think I was trying to insult you, or Canada. I was just curious as to what was happening there.

glenn

Harleigh–didn’t know they had whales in LA!
glenn

beatlex = northern mole hehehehe
Harleigh

Glenn,to answer your question, there will always be problems striking a balance between extraction and harm to the environment
beatlex

Landrieu was useful to give Dems a majority and that was it. Now that they’re a minority, she offers little reason for Dems to support her now.
adlib 3 hours ago

Sorry, folks, go to leave you. Just heard my younger brother passed away from a heart attack in Northern Ireland.
pinkpantheroz

OH GEEZ ppo! that’s awful. You got my support of course
Harleigh

Oh no! PPO, I’m so sorry!
adlib 3 hours ago

So sorry to hear that OZ!
beatlex

I think that the Dems are going to have to give up on the Blue Dog (mildly conservative) option. Democrat IS Liberal. Republican IS Conservative.
murphthesurf3

thanks, Kt. sudden and unexpected. so have to call my other bros and get things going. Thank you all for your support. bye.
pinkpantheroz

Harleigh

PPO – condolences….so sorry to hear this.
murphthesurf3

Glenn, yes,we are working on that too. That,in the end has to be the answer
beatlex

Murph – Agreed. When Dems retake the Senater in 2016, they need a progressive majority and no Dems pulling along with the Repubs. How many Repubs support the Dems?
adlib 3 hours ago

Harleigh–Yes, but I think we have met the enemy and he is us. IMO, Dems threw POTUS under the bus, and that’s why they lost!
glenn

nobody went out and voted. really lame
Harleigh

glenn – agreed, didn’t work for gore and didn’t work now
sillylittleme

When appropriate- I would like to chat about ACA part II. Let me know.
murphthesurf3

harleigh – agree too
sillylittleme

murph – what specifically
sillylittleme

Beatlex–Hopefully, both the U.S. and Canada can get something going other than oil.
glenn

Part II?
killgoretrout

Harleigh–the question is why no one voted?
glenn

Ad…I do not want to interrupt the flow….since I have been in and out trying to connect I do not want to push into a conversation.
murphthesurf3

I do health insurance all day long and am licensed in 50 states if I can help.
Harleigh

We have a problem with voter apathy here in Canada also.People seem to think that there is not much difference with the parties.Whoever is elected generally governs from the middle. You guys have it waay different!
beatlex

Only 36% of voters voted, Dems didn’t give anyone else a reason to be energized to vote. They ran as Repub-Lite. Very discouraging to Dem voters, no wonder such a poor turnout.
adlib 3 hours ago

compromise, 15 wind turbines for every mile of pipeline.
Harleigh

Murph – Let’s make that the next topic!
adlib 3 hours ago

SLM–the other day there was a letter in Daily Kos from a Canadian, and he enumerated all the things the POTUS has done, and wondered why Americans voted for the very people who caused the problems that POTUS fixed, and obstructed POTUS from accomplishing more. I think it was entitled something like, “You Americans don’t deserve Obama.” A great letter!
glenn

That’s not a good enough excuse ad. People have to vote, no matter how poorly candidates run their campaigns.
killgoretrout

glenn – ya I saw that
sillylittleme

SLM I read that one. it was cool.
Harleigh

kt – agree
sillylittleme

Glenn,I could have penned that,I agree with it!
beatlex

KT – Agreed, not a good enough reason for a responsible voter but the reality is that a majority of voters are irresponsible and don’t view voting as something they’ll do unless strongly motivated.
adlib 3 hours ago

OK. Affordable Care Act. Year 2. Here in Mo. No Medicaid Expansion. I have a number of those I helped get insurance panicking now. They are certain ACA is going to get hacked. GOP for outright repeal with no replacement. Failing that, defund it piece by piece. SCOTUS. No subidies where there is no marketplace and that is us. What do you all think. ACA? A goner, a half goner, or ok.
murphthesurf3

adlib 3 hours ago

Harleigh – take away the subsidies and it dies.
murphthesurf3

Harleigh

Harleigh – why not? Most are not “their” people.
murphthesurf3

murph – the ins cos would kill them
sillylittleme

Harleigh, I was reading through the comments so that you sell healthcare. I’ve been pulling my hair out during this open enrollment season. I’ve had Kaiser/Medicare since April of this year and cannot wait to ditch Kaiser.
sabreen60

Murph – First, Congress won’t be able to stop Obamacare because Obama will veto any attempt. Second, we know there are probably 4 votes on the SCOTUS for blocking the Feds from subsidizing in states where they run the ACA but we don’t know that they have a 5th or if they Roberts is really willing to go down as the Chief who stripped millions of Americans of health care.\
adlib 3 hours ago

If the Supreme Court gets involved again, we may be screwed.
killgoretrout

SLM – so far silence from the insurers
murphthesurf3

sabreen tomorrow starts open enrollment at healthcare.gov so you can see all offerings in your state…………………
Harleigh

Ad- using reconciliation they can defund it section by section. If the subsidies get knocked away, ACA dies in a lot of states….
murphthesurf3

Murph, I think the Republicans have shown over the last 6 years that they don’t care what hurts the American people. I believe they will do everything in their power to destroy the ACA. Even if it’s death by a thousand cuts. Those Americans who are hurt – too damn bad.
sabreen60

the SC could kill it in all 34 states on the federal exchange.
Harleigh

Murph, that’s not true. Reconcilliation bills can be vetoed and still need 67 votes in the Senate to override.
adlib 3 hours ago

Sab, I agree.
murphthesurf3

can someone get me out of this alternate universe I fell into?
sillylittleme

Ad Lib. I understand that Reconciliation bills require only 51 votes and no budget matter requires presidential signature.
murphthesurf3

grab my hand slm! lol
Harleigh

There are some R’s who are talking about changing the ACA,not killing it.But tey are few
beatlex

Murph – Presidents have to sign ANY bill Congress passes for it to be legal, that is the way the balance of powers work. Reconcilliation only provides for a simple majority vote to win in the Senate, to avoid a filibuster’s 60 vote level.
adlib 3 hours ago

Harleigh, Yes I have been living on Medicare.gov. I pretty much settled on either Medicare Supplement Part G or N. No more advantage plans for me. Now I’m trying to decide on a prescription company. Right now (because of my ignorance) I’m in the coverage gap. I didn’t know it is based on the retail cost of drugs and not on out-of-pocket cost.
sabreen60

slm – Hate to say it but because our politics have a pendulum nature to them, we have to stomach the swing to the right that precedes the swing to the left. Repubs are going to do their best to make things awful for the nation and Obama for 2 years then because they have done so, they will lose again in 2016.
adlib 3 hours ago

Oh geez, the donut hole of high cost meds. If you are hitting that on medicare you really need to get one of the plans th I’m Ok for now on Humana Advantage for now.at has Drug plan for your particular meds/needs and calculate out of pocket vs cost of new coverage.
Harleigh

Are Latinos going to vote for Repubs when they go after Obama for blocking deportation for 5 million? Are women going to vote for Repubs as they eliminate the right to abortion and contraceptives in state after state? Without winning women and Latinos and African Americans, the Repubs will lose again in 2016.
adlib 3 hours ago

AdLib, I hope President Obama takes every executive action possible. Let them bring it. If they impeach him, I know they’ll lose in 2016.
sabreen60

ad – they’ve been awful so long, I was wondering when the people would notice and do something about it.
sillylittleme

Hey Sabreen–I was “out” when you came in. Don’t know your age, but if you’re eligible, you might also want to check out the AARP plans. I have United for both health and prescription. Have only used the prescription once, and only paid for $4.50 for a month of antibiotics. I’m on Medicare, too.
glenn

Oh geez, the donut hole of high cost meds. If you are hitting that on medicare you really need to get one of the plans that has Drug plan for your particular meds/needs and calculate out of pocket vs cost of new coverage. I’m Ok for now on Humana Advantage for now.
Harleigh

Harleigh, the some of the ACA Advantage plans cover most if not all of the donut hole but they are about $150 more expensive per month. Still, when one considers the amount they’re spending on meds and the increased hospital coverage, it may be worth it.
adlib 3 hours ago

Sorry folks, had to step away for a sec.
killgoretrout

Murph–a little change of subject, but besides the cops and the KKK gearing up for violence, any word on when the grand jury decision will come down?
glenn

slm – DOn’t forget Dems won wave elections in 2008 and 2012. Repubs won in 2010 and 2014. Back and forth. We have to look ahead at this point, to another Dem President and replacing at least 1 of the SCOTUS Slimes.
adlib 3 hours ago

Ad….I just went back and read the entire section on the reconciliation process- there are twists and turns galore in the process. I will get back to you.
murphthesurf3

I have a sinking suspicion that all this worry about violence erupting could mean the GJ is NOT going to indict.
killgoretrout

Hi glenn. I’ve look at probably every plan available in my area. I’ve decided not to go with advantage plans. I like the Medicare Supplements G and N. They are less expensive than most advantage plans including AARP and you can see any doctor who accepts Medicare. With “G” there are no doctor co-pays and cost about $145.00 a month. “N” is $95 a month with co-pay UP TO $20. The drug company “Silver Script” has no deductible and is $26.00 a month plus very low cost for generic drugs. Sorry guys I didn’t mean to take up space with my “stuff”.

sabreen60

ACA is for people under 65, Medicare is over 65 and way different. Both now have the same annual enrollement window that confuses the living SHIT out of everyone! LMAO
Harleigh

Murph – True, it is more complex but the Pres must sign all bills…or he can veto them and the Senate needs 67 votes to override that veto even on a reconcilliation bill.
adlib 3 hours ago

KT–I agree. But, one can hope for the best. It would be ironic if the GJ comes out with an indictment, and the whites in Ferguson protest!
glenn

KT I will be one surprised person if the GJ indicts.

KT – I think this has been a kangaroo Grand Jury from the start. The conclusion was reached the moment they were called, no way this police-connected prosecutor would have gone down this path if he didn’t know he could rig it. They won’t indict the cop and it will get ugly in Ferguson, IMO.

Murph – It’s the kind of rumor that passes for “news”. Reconcilliation is a process that says, very similar bills passed in the House and Senate are recognized as being substantively the same bill and the small details just need to be reconciled. That requires only a simple majority vote in the Senate. The bill then has to be signed or vetoed by the President like all other bills. So, it has nothing to do with that part of the process. Bills must be signed into law by The President.

AdLib, How about telling the KKK to stand down. One of them was on TV and was quoting as saying recruitment is better for them now then it was when PBO was elected. Also, more guns and ammo have been sold. These people want a race riot.
sabreen60

glenn – Grand Juries do not legitimately take this long to make a decision, it’s a short process. This is a sham, from beginning to end. And people in Ferguson and across the country know that and will be outraged when the sham is delivered like “justice” to all of us.

murphthesurf3

Sabreen–the KKK has the law on it’s side. At least that’s what their pamphlet says. Of course, the people protesting the verdict don’t have any rights, legal or otherwise, according to the KKK and the media.
glenn

Murph – Exactly, it will be more insidious than their simple votes to end the ACA, they will approve budgets that defund the ACA but Obama will just veto it. They will no doubt try to blackmail him into there being a government shutdown if he doesn’t sign their ultimatum budget slashing funding of the ACA but he won’t sign it and they will lose on this.

Sabreen – But notice that the GOP never says what is in these health care bills of theirs? I don’t know what’s in them but one Repub flunkie bragged about that but then said, “I don’t agree with what’s in all of them…” so I’ll bet they are about privatizing Medicare, limiting law suits and allowing insurance companies to sell across state lines without being regulated by each state.

AdLib, The Washington Post may this story right. However, they’ve been wrong a few times recently.
sabreen60

Sabreen – I think that there will eventually be a last straw, perhaps this will be it in Ferguson, when people have taken all they can take from the racism in our “justice” system and something will have to be done to stop the outrage.
adlib 2 hours ago

ad – and how will the people fare against the police? the no justice system?
sillylittleme

AdLib, I’m not holding my breath. Forgive me. But when I see how nothing was done when 20 babies were shot down in their school, I don’t think much will be done in an attempt to see that black Americans, especially males, are treated fairly in the justice system.

sabreen60

so sad that we can’t be what we claim to be, for freedom and justice for all
sillylittleme

slm and Sabreen – My point is that if there is a reaction like after Rodney King, not hoping for violence but many will be outraged, it could force those in the establishment to give in on reforms.
adlib 2 hours ago

The civil rights old hands in this area have been very clear (again)…..the best pattern would be. March in the mid morning; educate and plan and rest in the early afternoon; rally in the late afternoon; AND THEN HOME. leave the night to the police, the thugs, the gang bangers and the stupid.

adlib 2 hours ago

Night Sabreen!
adlib 2 hours ago

Ad….in my experience, the night is the mask that malcontent, provocateurs, vandals and looters use to destroy the integrity of the protest and to gain their own ground. The only night events I have taken part in were church vigils.
murphthesurf3

I have a lot of reservations about the Al Sharptons out there who want to jump in front of those protesting and try to lead them.
adlib 2 hours ago

SLM….I think so. The Gov’s and State Police and National Guard’s name are all over the events now.
murphthesurf3

Ad…Al and Jesse and two local “leader” are opportunists as well.
murphthesurf3

murph and ad – agree about the opportunists, but will the police stand down or want to seem in control
sillylittleme

I don’t know if protesting should be sensible, practical and reserved for certain hours as dictated by authorities.
adlib 2 hours ago

SLM…I think so, it would make them reasonable parties.
murphthesurf3

That’s not what I think of when I think about protesting being a right.
adlib 2 hours ago

Ad Since the alternative will undermine their position even further- even in the black community which is NOT in support of ad hoc street action- it makes sense
murphthesurf3

Murph – Al and Jesse are both commercial products now (though Jesse’s outlasted his shelf life), they are more going concerns than activists…activism is what they sell.
adlib 2 hours ago

murphthesurf3

Ad…did you see my ACA piece?
murphthesurf3

ad – maybe msnbc will script him
sillylittleme

Murph – That’s why I think it is just what the cops want. A public so controlled it protests “sensibly”, between the hours and in the limited places authorities allow them. I know it protects them from the craziness that others display at night but it worries me that protests can be so scheduled and controlled by authorities. What can such protests accomplish when handcuffed like that?
adlib 2 hours ago

Murph – Of course, owe you a comment on it!
adlib 2 hours ago

Neat and tidy protests usually accomplish nothing.
adlib 2 hours ago

Ad…with all due respect….the protest were the cover for the looting, the vandalism and the supposed gun shots. The night does not put protestors into good light. It hardly ever does.
murphthesurf3

Hate to say it and I don’t want violence but a protest that isn’t locked into such limited boundaries may be what is needed.
adlib 2 hours ago

What the protest have to do is impress a tv audience, and to get a lot more people thinking good things about them because rght now they have lost their the public.
murphthesurf3

Murph – That’s true, we saw that happen and it is a reality. Not sure what the answer is but both choices now are problematic.
adlib 2 hours ago

Ad…asking for trouble. Gang activity was at the center of a lot of what was happening. As one of my mentors said: “the night is a mask and we know who wears them.”
murphthesurf3

Murph – But would a polite, scheduled protest really impress a wide swath of Americans to act?
adlib 2 hours ago

ad – would anything at this point??
sillylittleme

A huge, beautifully organized protest march with a rally at the end and strong, but short voices will get tons of positive TV and internet time. There are lots of people here who want the violence.
murphthesurf3

Murph – I understand, so let’s say protesting at night would cause damage to the protest. Wouldn’t a neat and orderly, police dictated protest be tame and uninspiring?
adlib 2 hours ago

ad – I agree, what would inspire the public, I think they are largely still asleep. Which I need to be soon. Good night to you and Murph.
sillylittleme

Murph – I think that’s a good thing to do, they should do so but it’s not something that I could imagine activating many Americans to do something. And you can bet the MSM, which wants conflict above anything else, would give it little attention.
adlib 2 hours ago

slm – Something like a national event, like an OWS would make such an impact.
adlib 2 hours ago

But that would mean a long and sustained protest in Ferguson that inspires others around the nation to act.
adlib 2 hours ago

ad – and I’m still waiting for the impact from OWS…
