Last week, we introduced a new feature at The Planet, a checkbox on the comment reply box that allows you to be notified when more comments are added to an article.
One member reported seeing a big paragraph of computer code on the comment reply box instead of the checkbox.
Could you please respond to this post and let me know either way, if the checkbox and comment appear fine or if you too are seeing a paragraph of computer code on the comment reply box?
Also, I’d appreciate your feedback on whether this is a feature you are or would like to use.
Thanks!!!
OK, so I am a little slow. I found it and set it up as a Google home page. I can open it in my browser as my home page, but Planet Pov has to be regulated to just another news source, lol. I am sure I can find my way to it each day.
I don’t see any box that is related to what you are talking, I am on Int Explorer v 8 via Windows Vista
I don’t have a box. I’m using Mozilla Firefox if that matters. Have I missed something here?
No box appears. I had seen it before, though! I checked it and I love the feature. Hope you get the bug out.
I’m on a PC using Google Chrome browser. No box yet, however. I will try the submit button and see what happens.
Things look fine on my Mac… I’ll keep a look out for it.
AdLib — here’s another weird wrinkle. This error message isn’t happening on the Brainstorming article.
Same with my MB nellie.
Mac, and I’m not really sure what you’re talkin’ about.
Do you see any mess of codes directly under your comment boxes, right under Submit Comment it says WordPress database error: (Column ‘post_status’ in where clause is ambiguous) if not you are lucky.
Kalima — could you go to the Brainstorming post for a second and see if you have the problem on that article?
This gets curiouser and curiouser, to quote Alice.
The code is there nellie but not on my MB, are you finding it’s not on your own post too?
I have a Mac and no problems.
You’re, special. 🙂
I knows 😉
😆 So now we both knows.
All’s fine on my page. No problems.
Looks good on my machine. Yes, I’d probably this (now that you pointed it out!)
Oh for god’s sake, I am stoopid! I see the box now– it’s in the place I type my comments, BEFORE I post them. Sorry, AdLIB! 😳
I think it may be a conflict with Macs. Anyone else here have a Mac? If so, do you see code or just the checkbox?
Anyone on a PC see the paragraph of code?
AdLib — I still have the check box.
According to the error message, this is the crux of the problem:
Is there anything that’s supposed to be ABOVE the check box?
Me too! All is well, no complaints.
Adlib, I haven’t seen anything regarding this– nothing new on my replies or comments– not even codes. But I have been wanting this feature and hope we can get the bugs out!
I see it just fine, and I like the feature!!!

j’avaz and all, I haven’t seen any code…yet…
But I may not be on God’s VIP list…. 😉
I do see the “Notify me of followup comments” message!
I’ve got a mess of code beginning w WordPress database error
let me try,. I didn’t get any code yet, nellie. When did you get a code? On a reply?
It’s under any comment text box — whether a reply or an original comment to an article.
Oh, I see it nellie. I click it and everything is fine. I use a PC and firefox, if that helps. The problem is that I now have 11 new emails from every one commenting. I thought you only got the reply to your comment, not every comment on the post.
But now I am getting”you are subscribed to this entry. Manage your subscriptions”
Let me see if it shows up in Firefox….
yep, still there….
Nellie it looks like a mac thing?
Both you and Kalima are on macs.
Thanks nellie, I was just going to try that.
bito, what’s directly above the check box?
nellie, after checking the box, I don’t have a box to check.
I now get “manage your subscriptions”
Nellie thank God, I’ve had it for two days and thought I was the only one. Are you on a Mac or is this random?
Yesterday it started in the reply to comment box too. I’ve told AdLib about it and he has checked but nothing shows up about an error. Mine is still here.
Yep. I’ve got a HUGE string of error code, lines and lines of it.
I just ignored it — I figured it was another WordPress bug that would go away in a few days.
I thought it would sort itself out too but yesterday it started under the comment box when I wanted to just reply to someone. Now I have two, but strangely enough not on my MB, it’s the only thread that is clear.
Mac discrimination?
I wonder if it could be the browser. I’m using Safari — which can be very persnickety.
I haven’t had any problems with Safari and Firefox messes up my computer, it takes me to places that I don’t want to go, turns pages without being asked to, so I can’t use it.
Hmm…you’re on a Mac, right? Anyone else on a Mac here? If so, are you seeing the same thing, a mess of code?
Yes, I am on a mac. I love my mac.
I can still edit. Once the comment is posted, all is well.
