• AdLib : Rest well, Murph! Take care of yourself!

  • MurphTheSurf3 : It’s amazing how these frauds gather the faithful…well I need to run…to bed…See you Ad….

  • AdLib : Who would follow such a hateful preacher…er… he didn’t also bring his congregation to funerals with “God Hates Fags” posters, did he?

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Ad….twisted… .apparently a few in the congregation had had enough

  • AdLib : Murph – That is anti-Christian. Was he a Satanist or something? I thought we were supposed to look out for our neighbors?

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Ad From what I heard, he was making the point that looking for handouts from anyone was a sign of a weakness in character which was the doorway into sin. AND making the point that the poor had to struggle to return to prosperity through grace….bizarre .

  • AdLib : I don’t remember Jesus claiming Capital Gains.

  • AdLib : Oh! Just reread your post! So the preacher was attacking the poor as being solely responsible for their poverty because they were sinners? And there are no “good Christians” who are poor?

  • AdLib : Very interesting. What was the shouting match about? Was the preacher trying to gloss over the troubles of the poor or what?

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Looking at my district…it is very poor….I heard of an event last week in one of my local churches which has been confirmed by three other people that a shouting match broke out between the preacher and several members of his congregation. The subject: poverty as the wages of sin….

  • AdLib : Murph – When I hear about minimum wage workers being ripped off, poor people being demonized, funding for SNAP being slashed…it seems like just a matter of time until there is a real backlash against the 1% if this continues…and that includes GOP politicians.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Ad….I thought of you in the meeting..was this the GOP trying to forge a relationship with Dems out of fear of what their own policies were creating? There is a lot of anger here in rural mo. over the medicaid expansion, food stamps, and unemploymnet

  • AdLib : Murph – This is why I never take to heart the pundit predictions about the GOP doing well. Give them enough rope in an election year and they will hang themselves. they can’t help it.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Nite sabreen.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Ad- that was followed up by speeches from Obama and others that race is definitely on the table.

  • AdLib : Night Sabreen! Have a great weekend!

  • Sabreen60 : Well good folks, it’s midnight here, so I’m out. Take care everyone.

  • AdLib : And Gohmert is now worth less thana Pyle.

  • AdLib : Murph – Yep, I hear asparagus stock has skyrocketed!

  • AdLib : Night Escrib! Great having you here on Vox!

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Goodnight Cat

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Ad- and whoever else is still here…did you see the Gohmert/Holder set to in the House hearing?

  • escribacat : Good night folks! Time to do some serious vegging out.

  • AdLib : Whether it comes to war or social issues, Repubs are clueless to the concept of blowback.

  • AdLib : I did hear though that there is now a rise in black market abortions, now that legal abortions are being prevented in Repub states.

  • Sabreen60 : Damn AdLib. That almost gave me angina.

  • AdLib : Night Beatlex!

  • Sabreen60 : Night Beatlex, Take care.

  • AdLib : Sabreen – That was actually an April’s Fools post (I tip it off at the end)! But the way things are going, it may end up being pretty prescient.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Beatle…good night…

  • Beatlex : Goodnight everyone!

  • Sabreen60 : AdLib, I just read your excerpt under the headline, “New Texas Law, Pregnant….” Just WOW! This is what we have to deal with. I got the sinking feeling of being on the Titanic. Excuse the pun.

  • AdLib : Sabreen – And the best promotion for Dems is just letting Repubs speak out and vote for hateful bills.

  • AdLib : Murph – Not sure either but maybe internal polling isn’t going the Repub’s way?

  • Sabreen60 : I’m glad Dems are talking about Nov. I read that it’s unusual to talk about mid-terms this far in advance. I hope Dems will turn, because as I see it, that’s our only hope.

  • AdLib : Night KT! See you this weekend!

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Bye KT

  • AdLib : Sabreen – Yep, it’s Repub Cruel 2.0.

  • Beatlex : Goodnight KT!

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Ad My Congressman is a practical man but I still am puzzled why his people would gather a group of dem and independent organizers for coffee ktatsch

  • KillgoreTrout : Well folks, I gotta sign off for now. See ya on the music thread.

  • AdLib : Murph – Despite the MSM memes, I don’t think the Repubs have the advantage that the MSM is purporting. On all the major issues, from gun control to raising the minimum wage and pay equity for women, the Repubs are opposing the majority of voters.

  • Sabreen60 : Isn’t this pretty much the same budget Ryan put forth with Romney – only a lot worse.

  • KillgoreTrout : Fortunately Ad, I think the bagger’s numbers are down to about 20% or less.

  • AdLib : So…vote for Republicans because they will strip 10 million americans of health insurance, turn Medicare into a voucher system with health care no longer guaranteed, raise the age or limitations on receiving Social Security, slash aid programs for the poor and especially, poor single mothers. And they support forcing women to have babies. Sounds like a winner to me!

  • Beatlex : Lousier people in general KT

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Ad. I agree. I went to a meeting last week held by my GOP Congressman’s staff. They worked very hard to convince a group of us that working with their boss would be to our benefit….was that desperation….o dd given that his district is Red through and through – I did not and still do not understand the purpose of the meeting.

  • KillgoreTrout : Beatle, the baggers are lousy politicians.

  • AdLib : KT – You said it so much more precisely and briefly. Indeed, their hubris will be their downfall. There pandering to the extremists will create a backlash among all but that minority of voters who are Baggers.

  • KillgoreTrout : Absolutely Murph. And they will.

  • Beatlex : KillgoreTrout,ex actly! the idiot gave the Dem’s a gift to run on,what a maroon!

  • MurphTheSurf3 : KT…the Dems have to ply this up to the nth degree.

  • AdLib : Murph – And it will be an albatross around the GOP’s neck in November. Cutting SS and Medicare? Slashing programs for the poor and middle class? Just to cut a deficit no one but they really have at the top of their list of concerns now? I see a hole being dug that can bury the Repubs and Ryan’s Presidential aspirations.

  • KillgoreTrout : Ryan just did the dems a big favor. The baggers will never learn.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Ad Lib…the Ryan budget and the vote of the GOP for it is RR’s legacy writ larger.

  • AdLib : Beatlex – Well said! The GOP has indeed become the official political party of the mentally ill.

  • AdLib : KT – Yep, that makes more sense, crazier than usual!

  • AdLib : escrib – Same here in L.A., all those mentally ill thrown out on the streets, created a sudden glut of mentally ill homeless types.

  • AdLib : Sabreen – That’s the case. Reagan closed down the asylums and dumped the mentally ill on the streets…the 1980’s kind of thing to do…and you’re right, we haven’t recovered from that. And the stigma that added to being mentally ill has been damaging, people have now come to think of them as worthless people like “homeless bums” and ignore them and the problem.

  • Beatlex : There is still one mental institution. It goes by the name of “The Republican Party”

  • KillgoreTrout : Ad, you mean crazier than usual? Sorry, couldn’t resist! ;)

  • Beatlex : Sabreen, you are right,Raygun Ronnie opened the doors and kicked them all out of the mental hospitals

  • escribacat : Adlib, I remember back in the late 70s and 80s after Reagan shut down the state mental hospitals. The crazy population in San Francisco went way up.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Thanks Beatle

  • KillgoreTrout : Unforunately, there is no money in mental illness and homelessness.

  • Beatlex : Your back now Murph!

  • Sabreen60 : AdLib, If I remember correctly, Reagan took away funding from mental institutions. I don’t think we have ever recovered.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Some how I seem to have dropped off line

  • Sabreen60 : Oh Cat, yes. It’s a shame, but so many of the mass killings happen that I can keep up with the names of killers.

  • AdLib : Mental illness is far more rampant in the nation than most people know. We’ve become a bit accustomed to the mentally ill homeless on the streets and news of someone mentally ill attacking others. I wonder, if Repub states are not helping people get in Medicaid, might they not begin to have a greater population of untreated mentally ill? And the standard of living between that and more ill people all about, go down?

  • escribacat : Sabreen, James Holmes is the creep who shot up the Aurora theater.

  • AdLib : Kind of sad how each week there is a story about someone mentally ill throwing shoes, stabbing schoolmates, shooting others in the military, answering to the name of Ted Cruz…

  • AdLib : Sabreen – Yes, that woman sounds mentally ill. I think she threw some papers about some US activity in the 1960’s. Here’s a link to her mug shot, she looks like a loon: «link»

  • Beatlex : Murph, try Southern Alberta, around Lake Louis,or Drumheller, where the Badlands are.World renowned for our dinosaur fossil finds

  • Sabreen60 : Cat, Don’t throw a shoe at me, but who is James Holmes?

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Beatle the Crazy Horse

  • Beatlex : Where Murph?

  • AdLib : Sabreen – I think Colbert makes sense replacing Letterman, he’s a showman. Stewart is more intellectual and incredibly incisive. I often skip the interviews he has with celebrities unless they’re comedians because his heart just doesn’t seem into them…and frankly, I’m bored by celebrities talking about themselves and their movies.

  • escribacat : Sabreen, I was reading about that shoe woman — she’s obsessed with James Holmes and tried to file an injunction or something against him invading her thoughts all day long. SICKO.

  • escribacat : Adlib, I haven’t seen that pic of Hillary but conservative media keeps showing those awkward shots of her on stage when the crazy woman threw a shoe at her.

  • Sabreen60 : AdLib, did you see the woman who threw the shoe at Hillary?

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Beatle…. with great people as compay and guides.

  • AdLib : BTW, did you see that picture of Hillary this week with what looked like a Margaret Thatcher type hairstyle? Sent shivers down my spine.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Beatle..I have had some great white water experiences there.

  • Sabreen60 : I’m so glad Colbert got the nod rather than Stewart. I’m curious to see how he makes the “transition” from playing the fake conservative to his real self.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Cat….Sibelius wanted out and I think that she waited until Obama told her the time was right- long enough after the successful finish and fast enough to name someone who the Senate can confirm with the least amount of GOP obstruction.

  • AdLib : KT – Exactly, Rush and O’Reilly are so upset because their audiences are shrinking and Colbert just got a big Colbert Bump to an exponentially larger audience…AND far greater visibility around the MSM.

  • Beatlex : Murph, thank you.The weather is not the greatest, but we are tough. My Grandmothers family came from Minnesota in the early 1900s

  • escribacat : Murph, what do you think of Sebelius resignation?

  • AdLib : Sabreen – I grew up with all that great music.

  • KillgoreTrout : Ad, I bet Rush is green with envy.

  • escribacat : Adlib, Rush doesn’t actually “think.” He just brays.

  • escribacat : Sabreen — how FUN.

  • AdLib : KT – Yep, lovin’ that! Rush having an aneurism over Colbert getting the Letterman spot. Who does Rush think should have gotten it? Ted Nugent? Victoria Jackson? Rush himself? Heh!!!

  • Sabreen60 : Adlib, not exactly “swing” music. We danced to Doowop, Motown and and a lot of R&B of the 60’s.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Beatle…wonderf ul, beautiful, extraordinary country…and full of some of the nicest people you have ever met. I love Canada generally and the Western Provinces most especially.

  • Beatlex : Hi Sabreen,I saw that story,what a heart breaker.Those poor kids of hers…

  • AdLib : escrib – I wondered about that too but I think Stewart is kind of fully established at COmedy Central and may not have wanted to do a variety show. While Colbert is that kind of entertainer. Seems like a perfect fit for him.

  • Beatlex : Alberta,Canada Murph,Edmonton to be precise

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Beatle…where is home?

  • Sabreen60 : Hey Beatlex!

  • escribacat : Sabreen, how terrible. I hope it gets a lot of attention in Texas, which seems to be reverting back to Civil War times.

  • AdLib : Sabreen – Love swing music! How cool!

  • Beatlex : Murph,where I live,late May is the right time,I live in a northern climate,we have summer,but if you blink,you might miss it!

  • Sabreen60 : Cat, the young lady worked 3 jobs and had a couple of kids (maybe 3). She had a congenital heart condition and couldn’t afford her meds. Perry refused to expand Medicaid so she had no insurance.

  • AdLib : Hey Beatlex! This is the type of thing that makes me say not to pay any attention to the pundits who want to count out Dem control of the Senate this year.

  • escribacat : Kilgore, Rush better go hide under the bed from scary Steve Colbert.

  • escribacat : Adlib

  • AdLib : escrib – I imagine they hold a real Hunger Games out there and have other activities like a giant Wack-A-Mole game using illegal immigrants.

  • KillgoreTrout : Great point Ad. Rush is spreading doom and gloom saying Colbert will be the death of middle America. Bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaa!

  • escribacat : Adlib, I wonder if Jon Stewart was in the running to get it. He did a very gracious tribute to Colbert.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Beatle- good weather here….planting .

  • Sabreen60 : AdLib, You may know it as “swing”. DC, Philly, Baltimore, etc hand-danced back in the 50’s, 60’s, and early 70’s. The dance was a little different in each city. I’ve been dancing since I was a kid. To slower music, we “bopped”. I think one or two cities called fast dancing (hand-dancing) “bop”.

  • Beatlex : Good Murph,and you?

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Beatle- how are you

  • AdLib : escrib – Same here, very happy for Colbert and looking forward to watching a late night show on a network again. Jon Stewart is a genius and makes me smile so often but Colbert makes me laugh out loud. Two different comedians, both are fantastic and brilliant, happy for both to be where they are. And so funy that Bill O’Reilly is so jealous, he’s always touted his viewership over Colbert and now Colbert will have a far bigger audience!!! Heh!!!

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Hey KT…I am relaxing after a last minute ACA push.

  • Beatlex : HA! Now the R’s have to go back home having voted to cut Medicade, among other things. The Senate might be saved after all!

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Sab- I read that story and it really touched me. I know so many people like that.

  • KillgoreTrout : What’s up Murph?

  • escribacat : Sab…haven’t heard that story. What happened?

  • Sabreen60 : AdLib et al, Did you read the story of the young woman who died while she was selling vacuum cleaners in a stranger’s home. I think it was in Texas.

  • escribacat : I’d sure love to see what goes on there. I’m guessing it’s something like Bohemian Grove, where they put on moose heads and dance around the big fire.

  • KillgoreTrout : Me too e. I think he’s perfect for the job. A very witty guy, for sure.

  • AdLib : escrib – Yes, I read about that and it is so damn creepy!

  • escribacat : Adlib, did you know one of the Kochs built his own “western town” in western Colorado? Very strange.

  • AdLib : Sabreen – What’s hand dancing?

  • KillgoreTrout : Sounds like fun Sabreen.

  • escribacat : Kilgore, I have never watched late night television but I’m dying to see the “regular” Colbert.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Hi KT

  • AdLib : escrib – I think the Kochs are paying for both crazies and less-crazies but there ain’t no sane candidates getting Koch money.

  • escribacat : Adlib, I agree. they are still in complete disarray.

  • KillgoreTrout : Hey, how about Colbert taking over for Letterman? The righties are going ape shit. ;)

  • Sabreen60 : I’m fine everyone. Missed you guys last Friday, but we went “hand-dancing” :)

  • AdLib : escrib – I do think the GOP civil war will come to a head in the 2016 GOP primary and the GE where they are trounced. I don’t want time to go by any quicker than it does but I look forward to watching that self-demolition of the GOP.

  • AdLib : Murph – 38 human lives now protected by having health care, well done!

  • KillgoreTrout : Hey Sabreen. How are ya?

  • escribacat : Adlib, I hope so. Are the crazies the ones the Koch bros keep paying for?

  • AdLib : Hey Sabreen! Good to see you!

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Hi Sab

  • KillgoreTrout : Great news e.

  • AdLib : escrib – So far, the hundreds of millions the Kochs spent in 2012 don’t appear to have helped them much and I am skeptical that it will this year. I mean, commercials impact a smaller and smaller number of voters. And when you have Repubs displaying craziness in national stories, all that money is wasted and negated. And I bet heavily that we will continue to see outrageous and offensive Repubs and with more frequency as we near November.

  • escribacat : Hi Sabreen,

  • Sabreen60 : Hello Planeteers. Hope all is well. Just stopped by for a few.

  • escribacat : Murph, it was a piece of cake with the broker.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Cat…you used a broker- interesting. I do not know of others who did.

  • KillgoreTrout : It’s really ironic, isn’t it Ad?

  • escribacat : Kilgore, I’m saving a lot of money too.

  • escribacat : Adlib, I don’t see any “true blue” bagger doing anything but starting their own party. GOP will never been extreme enough for them. It’s wonderful.

  • KillgoreTrout : My sister and her husband signed up and now they are saving nearly 200 a month, plus her old doctor wouldn’t take ACA money. She found a new one who she likes much better.

  • escribacat : My state was Colorado then I had to go through the painful process again in Washington State (I moved). Second time I used a broker and let her go through the process….much easier by then. My nephew is in Oregon.

  • AdLib : KT – Funny how calling a Repub “too conservative” means they’re not far enough to the right for the extremists.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Cat…good for you both. What states?

  • AdLib : escrib – I wonder if the Baggers will say, “We let you have McCain then Romney and we lost. Now it’s our turn!” Then they might nominate a Paul Ryan or a Rand Paul and the bashing they would get would pretty much end the Baggers’ dominance over the GOP…or who knows, maybe Baggers will leave the GOP and start their own party?

  • escribacat : Great work, Murph! I got my nephew to sign up anyway. And myself.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Hello Cat and Hello Ad….ACA done, for now- wrote a note to Kathleen Sibelius, seriously. I listed the 38 people I signed up with ACA in my “neighborhood. ” and offered my thanks for them.

  • escribacat : Adlib, I agree. Hillary or Joe could win. Hooray. But I’m concerned that the Koch bros can now buy the house and senate.

  • KillgoreTrout : Exactly Ad. Jeb is too conservative for the baggers.

  • escribacat : KT, no they don’t like rational but they know the “independents” are frightened by extremists. That’s why they settled on Mittens. But of course that didn’t work out so who knows …. they might try something else out of desperaiton.

  • AdLib : escrib – I think any decent Dem wins in 2016. Clinton aside, Biden could win too against any of these Repub losers.

  • escribacat : Adlib, I don’t think the GOPers are going to win in 2016.

  • AdLib : KT – I agree, I think he’ll be backed by some big mainstream Repub forces but highly doubt they can force him on an already anti-establishme nt Bagger core of voters.

  • KillgoreTrout : Hey e, I don’t think the GOP likes “rational.”

  • AdLib : Hey Murph! Hope you’re feeling a bit rested today after that ACA deadline push is over!

  • escribacat : Hi Murphy

  • escribacat : Adlib, yes, please do.

  • escribacat : Kilgore, true but he’s the only “rational” fella they got.

  • KillgoreTrout : Hey Murph. What’s up?

  • AdLib : escrib – I can catch you up on details by email.

  • KillgoreTrout : I don’t see Jeb getting the nomination. Too soon for another Bush. The last one and the damage he did is still in people’s memories.

  • escribacat : Adlib, I agree the connection online can be strong. We gravitate to each other because we have a lot in common.

  • MurphTheSurf3 : Greetings and Salutations

  • AdLib : escrib – It is kind of strange, that you can really have a strong connection as a friend with people you’ve never met but then again, in the old days, there were pen pals.

  • AdLib : escrib – I don’t know about Jeb, he polls terribly as another Bush amongst the general voters AND Repub core voters. They’ve lost two elections on these bland types and hard to imagine another Bush ever being elected in our lifetime. Would indies and moderates vote for another Bush?

  • escribacat : Adlib, if you don’t mind my asking, how were you notified about Bito?

  • escribacat : Adlib, I agree. I met one woman online who said her daughter called her online friends her “imaginary friends,” which I thought was pretty funny. But telling.

  • AdLib : escrib – It can be challenging because it was just that person who had the online relationship, relatives, even spouses and kids sometimes have no awareness of their spouse’s/parent s’ online friends.

  • escribacat : From Colorado. Ovenville for the summer. I’m amazed my rightwing brother’s still denial climate change because it’s a desert there, and it wasn’t that bad when I was a kid there.

  • KillgoreTrout : Hey e and Ad. Where did you move from, e?

  • escribacat : Adlib, I think it’s going to be Jeb. My nickel is on him this week anyway. I’m eagerly waiting for the “flavor of the week” show again.

  • escribacat : Hi Kilgore

  • AdLib : Hey KT! Evenin’!

  • KillgoreTrout : Hey folks, que pasa?

  • escribacat : Just read all those eulogies to Bito, which I missed back then. Very touching. How sad. I’ve always wondered what happens when one of our “online” friends passes away. Do they just go silent or does someone in their life somehow know and find a way to notify the online community. It’s a strange relationship and hampered in this way.

  • AdLib : Oh and Paul Ryan too using his “Kill the Poor and Old People” budget as a campaign tool.

  • AdLib : So how about the Repub Presidential primary starting up. Jeb Bush, Christie, Rand Paul and Ted Cruz starting to position themselves. Can’t wait!

  • AdLib : Wow! How lovely! I feel more relaxed just reading your description! And whoever you bought your house from should have given you full disclosure about any dinosaur infestations.

  • escribacat : I’m in heaven, Adlib. today I rode my bike on the Olympic Discovery Trail, from town out to the Elwha River bridge. All forested. Gorgeous. Ocean breezes. Quiet. No cars. Absolute heaven. And there are hiking trails here with the trailhead right in town. Lush green, ferns…the kind of forest where you expect to see dinosaurs munching away through the trees. If you need city, you can take the ferry to Victoria. I haven’t even been up in the mountains yet, which was the first thing that drew me to the place. I’m still not unpacked yet.

  • AdLib : So Escrib, sounds like all is well in the new digs?

  • AdLib : Escrib – Here’s a link to the memorial post for Bito: «link»

  • escribacat : Oh, I’m sorry to hear that about Bito.

  • AdLib : Escrib – Bito passed away last year.

  • AdLib : Bye Kalima! You’re the best!!! Thank you so much!

  • AdLib : Escrib – Oh! Our dog would see suitcases and get upset, sometimes curling up in the suitcase…like she wanted us to take her with us.

  • escribacat : Thanks.

  • Kalima : Bye e’cat. Take care and enjoy your new home.

  • escribacat : Don’t work too hard, Kalima.

  • Kalima : Thanks AdLib, my pleasure. Now back to the cleaning.

  • escribacat : Change of topic, but whatever happened to Bito?

  • Kalima : No AdLib, some people can’t change and have no hope.

  • escribacat : She doesn’t like the sound of zipper. I mean specifically suitcase zippers. She thinks I’m leaving or something else disruptive is going to happen.

  • Kalima : E’cat: Poor baby. ;(

  • AdLib : Escrib – Why does Chica like the sounds of zippers?

  • AdLib : Kalima, you can mosey any time, thank you SO much for covering for me!

  • AdLib : Kalima, most people don’t like change either. Or hope, from what I’ve been seeing.

  • escribacat : Kalima….my greyhound girl Chica is still running into the room now whenever she hears a zipper.

  • Kalima : Hey AdLib, is it time to leave?

  • AdLib : Woo hoo! Escrib is in da PST house!

  • Kalima : Cat don’t like change. After almost right months here, our Minnie has a panic attack every time I come into their room. She thinks we are moving again. Sorry about your kitty, but at least they got some love.

  • escribacat : Yes, I’m in your time zone now Adlib. Back on the west coast.

  • AdLib : All is well my way, sounds like a real adventure with your move but very cool!

  • escribacat : Hi Adlib! Wassup?

  • AdLib : Hey Kalima and Escribacat!

  • escribacat : Oh, I see. Poor kitty. They do not like to be moved. Last time I moved I kidnapped the neighbor’s kitty Budapest who had moved in with me because they were so awful to him. I got him out of there before they realized we were leaving. Hehe. After I spent a lot of money on his vet bills, he became MY kitty. I miss him. He died last year.

  • Kalima : We build the new house on the spot where the old one was. Plus we bought the property next door so we have much more space.

  • Kalima : The only greyhounds in town? I like that:)

  • escribacat : Did you move out and then move back in?

  • Kalima : It took 4 hours to catch the last one of our 5 to move out, and almost 5 when we moved back. They have their own room now.:)

  • escribacat : How are your kitties? Seems to me you had a lot of kitties dependent on you!

  • escribacat : I think they are the only greyhounds in town.

  • escribacat : Yes. It was a rough process — they’d get upset about all the packing and stress in the house and then there was a long drive in the car. But they are so happy here. I can let them run in a grassy park nearby and then we head into the thick forest with a soft squishy pathway. Greyhound heaven. The weather is much cooler here too but not freezing cold so the climate is much better for them. Plus I now have a grass yard that they can run in.

  • Kalima : I’m really happy for you. Did you take the dogs?

  • escribacat : LOL. I was wondering what you meant back there! Yes, it’s truly gorgeous here. And quiet (compared to where I came from). Close to Victoria BC too, via ferry.

  • Kalima : Sounds wonderful. I love mountains and woods. Well done!

  • Kalima : We still have boxes to unpack. I hate Spell Check!

  • escribacat : But it was worth it because I now live in a small town with big mountains on one side and big ocean on the other side. I love it here.

  • Kalima : I know what you mean, we still have boxes to I park. I cried every time I had to part with things.

  • escribacat : I gave so much stuff away and then I’d turn around and there was another big pile of stuff. Stuff stuff stuff, everwhere! I still have two rooms full of boxes to unpack. Many books. I think I need to just get rid of those books but it’s difficult.

  • Kalima : Don’t envy you. We built a new house last year and threw half of our stuff away. I’m still recovering.

  • escribacat : Yes, I’m fine. I just (almost) finished moving to Port Angeles, Washington. I’ve been doing nothing but packing and unpacking and selling house/buying house and etc etc etc etc for months it seems.

  • Kalima : Hi e’cat. Everything ok with you?

  • escribacat : Hi Kalima!

  • Kalima : Hi, AdLib will be a little delayed, and I’m afraid you are stuck with me. Don’t forget to say Hi! or Republican Judas Iscariots for equal pay.

  • AdLib : Vox Populi, our live chat about the week’s events begins tonight at 7 pm PST. Hope to see you then!
