Call me a cynic, but ISIS have been selling black market oil to anyone who will pay. Now, the oil has to get out of ISIS territory somehow. Perhaps via Turkey??? Only sayin’

» Posted By pinkpantheroz On September 20, 2014 @ 8:14 pm

The Australian Federal and local police forces have made multiple arrests of ISIS-sympathizers in Sydney and other cities and have foiled a plan to randomly pick a person and publicly behead them and post to social media. Be very concerned that this tactic might be used within the US, or anywhere else for that matter. Scary!

I remember years ago seeing a sign on the border between England and Scotland. It had a thistle and the words “You are now entering Scotland”

Underneath someone had painted:

“Wipe Yer Feet”!!

I honestly don’t know why anybody these days would even contemplate that the GOPTP might do the right thing for once. These creeps ignore their own constituents and do SFA for the country. The problem is that their badly-served sheep will still, despite anything to the contrary, vote the bastards in yet again. Pathetic! A total Koch-up!

Right on. And while we’re at it, include the cretins from the Westboro Baptist Church.

Wow, Monicaangela, very powerful. I do appreciate your responses and I feel I know where you’re coming from. Thank you for taking the time to further my knowledge. It would be wonderful if there were no need to qualify anyone’s description, but that’s just not possible, science being what it is. BTW, the first black persons I ever met and spoke to were visiting our home in Dublin, Ireland in the 1950s. Who were they? Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald! How ’bout that?!

» Posted By pinkpantheroz On August 18, 2014 @ 9:39 am

Thanks for that, Monica. I felt uncomfortable using the word black, but if you haven’t a problem, or even advocate it, then that’s fine in my book. I’d love to simply refer to people as he or she, without tags. I’m not seeking ‘fame’ by coining anything. But perhaps a new word could be coined for (ugh) other than Caucasian. Thanks to POV for helping with this.

Couldn’t agree more, Nirek. This is the best site I know, and it is thanks to every contributor that it is as great as it is. You, Adlib, Kalima and everyone bring out the best in me for sure. I always try and think more about subjects, simply because of the huge intellects evident here. We are all so lucky.

During Vox Populi live this weekend, I Mentioned a word I have coined to make it easier (for me, anyway) to speak of African Americans. The word is AfrAm

In conversation, and in print, African-American is a bit long winded, so I’ve shortened it. AA is shorter, but can be misinterpreted. My question is, would anyone be offended if AfrAm went into wider circulation, like, for example, here on Planet POV?

I see no barrier, but I want to make sure I’m not going to be branded!

I have blatantly stolen a copy of a comment below on Joe Hockey to highlight to the US. Isn’t it just as valid in your neck of the woods?

GOP new mantra:

Poor people got no reason
Poor people got no reason
Poor people got no reason
To live

They got low wage jobs
“Leaning” lives
They walk around
Cos- they don’t drive
They got broken noses
And rotten little teeth
They wear platform shoes
On their nasty povo feet

Well, I don’t want no poor people
Don’t want no poor people
Don’t want no poor people
`Round here

(with apologies to Randy Newman)

Yet another prime example of the GOP/TP influence rapidly taking over Australian Politics. The Federal Treasurer, Joe Hockey, was trying to justify the budget increases in Fuel Excises. When challenged that it would affect the lower-income car users rather than the rich, he said:
(They)”don’t have cars or actually don’t drive very far”. !!!

FYI ‘Liberal’ Party in Australia is the Conservative/GOP equivalent.
Imagine the mindset of these cretins. This quote is so odious that his own Party, including the Prime Minister Tony ‘the Mad Monk” Abbott even gave the fool a bollocking. Imagine if someone said that in Congress….oh, wait a minute!

Miles, I have what may be a simplistic reply, but I think it is close:

The whites who bleat ‘racism’ are misinterpreting the word. What they may be feeling is, at last, the helplessness that minorities have felt for centuries, namely the discrimiation against them when they’ve suddenly found that they do not have the clout to dictate any more.
I am white, but Irish, so I have suffered racism all my life until recently, compliments of England and, to some extent, Australia. I have never felt superior to any other being on the planet, especially not racially. All of the exploring nations in the Middle Ages, the English, Spaniards, Dutch, French and Portugese, all were racist nations. England especially, as they, like others, thought they had a Divine Right to conquer other lands and peoples, who naturally were inferior. They still have that racial arrogance, even though they are now only a shadow of their former(in)glory.

Those now crying racism against whites are plain nuts. If power is shifting to non-white populations, it is NOT because Non-whites feel superior to whites. I think is is because they suddenly feel the power slipping away and are vulnerable, and they lash out in the most odious way they can. But then, isn’t it the way of the GOPTP?

Please keep up the fight, Miles ‘Keep Calm and Carry On’ Long

The folks on the other side of the Pond are having a giggle at the BS coming from the ( mainly) GOPTP.

You gotta Love it!

“Jetstar has confirmed a crew member warned passengers returning from the Splendour In The Grass music festival about drug-detection dogs waiting at Sydney Airport.

News Limited has reported passengers were advised to flush away anything they should not have, because sniffer dogs and quarantine officers would be waiting in the domestic terminal.

It is reported the announcement caused a rush for the toilets.

Some of those on board were returning home from the music festival at Byron Bay.

In a statement, the airline has apologised to passengers and says the issue is being addressed with the cabin crew member concerned. ”

I say give him a medal!

Who says airline customer service is a thing of the past?!

I wonder how any of us would feel if our country were suddenly partitioned by outsiders and populated by people who had diametrically opposing political and religous views to us. Who would also then start grabbing what land we had left and building settlements and would force those opposed to them to leave or perish. Who would label us who opposed such blatant incursions as terrorists and pound our cities, including civilians, to subdue such protest. Yes, Hamas is a terrorist group dedicated to the downfall of Israel, but not everybody in Gaza is a mamber of Hamas. It seems so very hypocritical to castigate Russia for arming separatists, but to continue to supply the invaders of Palestine. But I do think the overreaction and overkill by Israel will come back to bite them in the arse. Hamas is as dumb as a housebrick to continue firing rockets into Israel, so doing themselves no favors by giving Israel the ‘self-defence’ card to play. The UN neeeds to stop tut-tutting at the carnage and get armed boots between the two. Only Sayin’!

Smot, you may be a lone wolf out there, but here you’ve got a pack who are family. So spill it all anytime, you’ll always have an ear to bend! We all go through rough patches (maybe not as traumatic as yours), but I’m convinced that here at POV, we’ll always find a friend to share. Take care of yourself and go get another kitty.

Aside from the guy next to Obama:
‘Doesn’t he remind you of that grumpy old guy in the movie UP, 78-year-old retiree Carl Frederickson?’

Obama collapses in mirth.

Hey, Smot. Good to hear from you, even if you’re tearing your hair out because of you implant and your mope of a brother. I hope you don’t mind me saying that, but I have one as well. He’s not as far gone as your bro, but he’s given my mother and us grief for many years. So I just want you to know thaqt you’re not alone in this situation and feel free to vent your ass off any time. I’ll respond as best I can. There is not much you can do for someone determined not to take a hard look at themselves and realize it is not everyone else to blame, only themselves. Comfort your Dad, I’m sure it took a lot out of him to lay it all out to his prodigal son. Anyway, you take care of yourself and get them to fix that ear of yours.

This may be the dumbest idea I’ve ever proposed, but maybe someone will see merit in it, or similar.

We have many thousands of people from the military who are unemployed due to either mental or physical injuries or being surplus to requirements. Why not an Auxiliary Border Patrol recruited from these brave people. It could be both an economic and a personal benefit to those who would still wish to serve their country in some way. Surplus equipment of all shapes and uses could be used, seeing there is no longer any use for them overseas. So we could employ drivers, pilots, choppers, trucks and engineers to both patrol the border and to look for tunnels, etc. The country has already paid for most, if not all,of the stuff required. The manpower exists, whether whole or not. I think it would do magic for self-image to feel thay are not only useful again, but doing their bit to protect the country, which is really what the military should be about. Imagine the savings on the economy – lower unemployment, less load on the medical industry, physical and mental, and the sheer feel good that the members would feel, being part of a unit again.
Anyone any thoughts?

One way to fix the lack of rumble is to load Harley sound effects and play them on a speaker. They’re doing it in Cars nowadays. You can have your Honda Civic sounding like a Big block Chevy V8 is under the bonnet!
