Time Out for OT – Vol 6

omg javaz. They look like they might be related! 😆

It can be so painful — depending on how a person’s family feels. A friend of mine’s story would break your heart.

Poor Ricky. He spent all that energy denying and no one believed him anyway.

I hope he feels better about everything.

Mark Potok, Director of the Southern Poverty Law Center: Intelligence Project, is a guest today on Randi Rhodes. He calls the T Party intimidation activity — cutting gas lines, throwing bricks — “Terrorism.”

Good for him.

“Time for a citizen’s movement to end this.”

Thanks, Cher. I look at TB as a long-term thing, so I think it will evolve. Let me get the initial skeleton together, and then we can figure out how to make it better.

As to posts, have you tried doing a search? Go to Posts from the Dashboard, and do a search for your name. All your articles should get listed. This works w comments, too.

I’ve read that article, Cher — and it makes some valid points.

And I agree about the Trollbusters — I’m seeing a lot of posts to the comment section that I’d like to grab for TB. I haven’t been able to work on it for a while, but I’m hoping to get back to it soon.

Can you move over a little and make room for me on that soapbax?? 🙂

I just had an email exchange w the host of a radio show in Portland on this very subject. On the day the president signed the health care bill, he was going on and on about how the president should have done A, B, C, and D. I wrote and said, on the day of this historic legislative victory, he’s going to whine that the president didn’t do things HIS way? And I used the A word, A for Arrogant.

I would love to make this a project, Cher, because this is my NUMBER ONE pet peeve. I talk to friends who are rabid progressives and they won’t listen to progressive programming — too silly, too angry, too hostile. They’re all listening to NPR, which is not progressive.

I’m in the middle of writing an article on this, believe it or not. So maybe we can start there.

GOP lies expected to intensify shortly.

That is good news. Thanks for posting, Cher.

This one’s Eppi (short for Epchook — Am Eskimo name for an Am Eskimo Dog). I have another one named Chee.

He likes the bed even better than the chair!

All Barack needs are the horned-rimmed glasses and the black suit!

This isn’t OT, it’s TOT — TOTALLY Off Topic.

Think there might be a little wolf in my puppy? The wolf is the one on the right.

I needed a break from the horror show of today’s news.

They think Prez Malcolm X is in the WH.

» Posted By nellie On March 25, 2010 @ 3:25 pm

Nice work, boomer.

» Posted By nellie On March 25, 2010 @ 2:02 pm

Sue, be sure to write him and let him know you’ve turned him off for good, and why.

I’ve been doing that to several programs, and so far it has made an impression on several places I’ve emailed.

And P.S. Good for you.

When Bush’s speechwriter can’t even take it any more, you know things have gotten out of hand.

We’re on the same page, Khirad.

Fundamentalism is fundamentalism — I’m almost glad to know Buddhism is not immune.

The Authoritarian Brain is mankind’s evolutionary project.

Ah, the irony — considering how scantily clad most buddhist statues are.

I used this link:

And I chose the Subject option:
Comment on the Center’s Work

And I included the link in a brief message.

🙂

Just did.

» Posted By nellie On March 25, 2010 @ 1:36 pm

Good for you. I think I’ll send the link to SPLC.

Wouldn’t hurt to add a shout to YouTube.

You’re my role model, boomer!

They weren’t even elected! This congress is hardly what I would call “progressive.” They’re middle of the road folks, trying to do something good for their constituents.

That caller was a Glenn Beck Idiot. I’m going to start calling them GBIs.

And you’re right — very scary, and, if I may say so, infuriating.

Think this video might deserve a forward to the FBI?

» Posted By nellie On March 25, 2010 @ 12:44 pm

Even if it did happen, I don’t recall any rhetoric from Democratic leadership egging on this kind of activity.

Not so for the GOP. They have been fomenting violence since Palin’s shocking campaign rhetoric. Their mouthpieces on radio and television do everything short of passing out weapons.

There is no comparison.

Thanks, AdLib — I’m glad the overall reform is intact. The provisions for Pell grants can be handled in a separate bill.

Had to clip this from HP because I love Joe:

Biden On ‘Big F—ing Deal’: Obama Loved It

“You know what the best thing about yesterday was?” Obama reportedly said on Wednesday. “Joe’s comment.”

Biden shot back, “If you thought it was so good, why didn’t you say it?”

According to Biden, who recounted the exchange during a fundraiser later that day, the president tried to have a t-shirt made with the remark but wasn’t able to get one in time. Delivery may have been the only problem, as custom t-shirt makers were already taking orders within minutes of Biden’s open mic gaffe.

Great idea — wish we were doing that now.

It’s because the people got involved. If we go back to being spectators, our reps will go back to being lazy.
