Great article, javaz. I love it when conservatives admit that the GOP is hurting the country. I particularly liked this paragraph:

The sophistication of Obama’s politics has finally caught up to the opposition: he will offer them compromise and lacerate them when they refuse to play. I suspect he’ll be successful at this. But absent a responsible opposition party, we’ll still be left with a crippled democracy, lacking all ability to address our most serious problems. That is not a recipe for continued success in a competitive world.

And I want our president to be presidential. If roles were reversed, seeing Bush in front of the Dems every week would look defensive. I think it would look defensive for Barack to — as I see it — stoop to their level of sniping.

I don’t like the idea, either, javaz. I want our government to govern. And this is exactly the opposite of what Barack Obama stands for. He said he doesn’t want to be battling the GOP as if they’re in some cage match. And I agree.

The problem isn’t the president. I wish people would get that.

The problem is the GOP.

I don’t see how anyone on this board could be a troll at HP. Because there’s no discussion on the other side to disrupt. The other side doesn’t discuss — they just post insults and quips and talking points. That’s the definition of troll behavior.

GaBulldog — whoever that is — doesn’t seem to know what an internet troll is. Sounds like he might be one himself.

These media folks. For so many of them, it’s just all about themselves. Huffington, Beck. Maher. They don’t know what they’re talking about and they don’t care about the country. They just need the attention.

I wish they’d find something else to talk about besides politics — something where what they say doesn’t matter so much.
