javaz, I picked out an image from Wikimedia Commons. If you have another one you’d rather use, just post the link in a comment, and I’ll add it for you.

Senate Bill: CBO Says 2/3 of U.S. Would Have Public Option Available

I think there is a second opportunity for a filibuster after the bill is conferenced. That’s when Joe is going to strike… Or am I mistaken?

» Posted By nellie On November 19, 2009 @ 4:46 pm

If my understanding is correct, this is NOT the vote that Lieberman has promised to block. This is the senate bill, and he has said he’s going to vote for cloture on this one.

The bill he threatens to filibuster is the FINAL conference bill, that must go through a vote again in both the House and the Senate. That’s the one where Randi thinks Cantwell and Snowe will join with the Democrats.

What a drama!!

» Posted By nellie On November 19, 2009 @ 3:58 pm

yes, this is the vote to shut down any filibuster and move the bill to the floor.

» Posted By nellie On November 19, 2009 @ 3:46 pm

Yes, I answered a little while ago. ๐Ÿ™‚

Bernie Sanders is on Ron Reagan saying he thinks the Dems have the votes for cloture. Randi Rhodes earlier predicted the two senators from Maine would join Dems to bring the bill to the floor for a vote. It’s going to be interesting ….

It is a give and take. I do like the fact that employers are not required to cover employees. That gives the public option much more of a prominent place in the system.

That’s good to know. I’m going to try to read the bill. I’ll keep an eye out for details.

I believe states can opt out only after the program has been in effect for 2 years. That makes it harder, once people get accustomed to the program. This is only what I’ve heard in summaries, however. I haven’t read the bill yet, so I can’t say for sure.

Unbelievable — it sounds like an improvement over the House bill.

Thanks, AdLib. I’m hoping to read the bill over the weekend. This gives me some great guidance on what to look for.

Nite Kalima. Rest well.

That’s exactly what’s going on Scheherazade. We need a Joe strategy to keep him from blocking ALL the legislation this congress is going to take up before 2012.

Good morning all!

Hey, Nicole. Just adding my voice to the chorus of “good to see you, we missed you!”

Hope things get better soon. We’re keeping the coffee warm.

Have a good rest, Kalima. Be well.

Sorry about that Cher! I was posting your photo as a preview, and I did leave the browser open!

This is another great article. With beautiful photos.

There’s definitely an “I didn’t sign up for THIS” attitude that comes out when it rains in LA.

But I love it. Being from the east where thunderstorms were my favorite weather, rain for me is a treat. It never storms here like it does on the East Coast.

That is a good friend!

Trying to find internal consistency in the religious right would be like trying to find the verb in a Sarah Palin sentence.

Do you grind your own coffee, javaz? My dad was a fanatic for good coffee. He would make his own blends and experiment. The whole family would talk abut his coffee.

» Posted By nellie On December 13, 2009 @ 5:37 am

No he wasn’t, unfortunately!

It’s as if the entire city becomes disoriented, everyone talks about the rain until it stops. Either people drive like they’re on ice without tire chains, or they don’t change their driving at all and go flying down the street.

And things get very quiet. Maybe that’s why I love rain here so much.

Good evening/morning Kalima!

Morning, javaz. It rained in L.A. all day yesterday and all night. I’m glad to see it, too. Looks like it might be clear today.

Tell Santa to bring you a french press. They never break down. ๐Ÿ™‚

Good night, Kalima. It looks like I’m back on schedule. I woke up just in time to read your sign off. Have a good rest.

Good morning, javaz. A big hug from Los Angeles.

Thanks for the link. What a bizarre situation. It sounds more like a movie promo than a news story.

» Posted By nellie On December 11, 2009 @ 6:11 am

That list is disgraceful!!! I’m actually laughing, it’s so ridiculous.

No wonder it’s so hard to get things done here. That link is definitely a keeper. Front Groups might deserve a seat right up front with Corporate Personhood.

Dear javaz — I’m so sorry to hear about your brother. I know you must feel so sad.

Let me offer my condolences, but also don’t be too hard on yourself. We can’t prevent what we can’t predict — how were you to know there would not be another chance?

All my heart goes out to you.

Sounds like a lovely peaceful day.

Good morning javaz!

That was me, and I’m not sure why the photo ended up being so large. WordPress is very fussy — it’s wants jpegs only and photos uploaded from a hard drive. Picky picky programming!

» Posted By nellie On December 9, 2009 @ 5:36 am

What was your day like, today? How is the pride of lions in your house?
