The Daily Planet, Vol. 129

KQ, interesting take on Romney- I share your opinion; but mine is that he is the most arrogant person in the country. He seems to feel privilege, adoration and aristocracy is his birthright, and we should bow in his direction as though he were the sacred East.
I’ll bet He doesn’t put the toothpaste on His brush either!

Khirad, Here we go again! I would not miss an episode of ‘No Reservations’ unless I died just before it came on!!
I read Kitchen Confidential on a plane to vacation. I saved a lot of money on food that trip!!!!
@Cher- you tapped into two of my favorites today- Bourdain, and Robert Frost!
I am irked by the outcome in WI, but I am more irked that the dumb bitch clerk is still in office, and appears to be safe in her position.
I laughed last night- I was following on Twitter when they announced that district’s vote tally would be late… one wiseass quipped at the outbursts, ‘Kathy Nickolaus writing votes fast as she can! Patience!’

Wisconsin Recall Elections

Oh,ADONAI!! They don’t have a union- most of them are too slimy to be able to join one!
But that’s ok- we can sacrifice them anyway! πŸ˜‰

@Kalima,
Yes ma’am.

Rating system for Obama supporters..

» Posted By jkkFL On August 10, 2011 @ 7:55 pm

Somewhere I read that the GOP spent $40m, and Dems spent $12M..
I will try to find a link..
If that’s true- GOP didn’t do too well..

I’m sending someone to take all the carboys off your property, for saying the Midwest and South should be taken away!!
Have fun drinking that hooch out of a muffler! πŸ˜‰

What Would FDR Have Done?

@Khirad- you devil!!

» Posted By jkkFL On August 11, 2011 @ 1:26 am

@tex:
CHILEAN SEABASS
Illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing has depleted some populations of Chilean seabass. In addition, some Chilean seabass is caught using unmodified bottom longlines, which hook and drown thousands of seabirds each year, most notably endangered albatross.

A portion of the Chilean seabass fishery is certified as sustainable to the standard of the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC). These certified fisheries are not evaluated in the Seafood Watch report and are not covered under the general β€œAvoid” recommendation.

Survival. Life. That is what matters. Here, Somalia or Texas. There is much more to life than your little square on Google Earth.
If the children of the world starve, is the plight of the middle class more important?
The survival of generations trump your shortsighted view, tex.

YAY Sabreen and funk!!

» Posted By jkkFL On August 10, 2011 @ 11:53 pm

Sorry funk! Orlando has been hoodwinked by that thief time and again!
We are over Amway, and have lost our perspective on that pile of poop.. πŸ™

That there are more important issues than your personal displeasure with the President.
Focus on the larger picture..
There’s a drought in TX-
There’s a battle in WI
The GOP is unwilling to compromise
Obama doesn’t govern in the way you expect..
There’s killing heat in the US
There are riots in the UK
The Middle East is killing to prevent democracy
The GOP is stripping women and the states of their rights
The currency of the US and the world is embattled
The stock markets are nosediving into recession, again
Your house isn’t worth what you paid for it
Your 401K just tanked….
Japan is in dire straits
France and Greece are are insolvent
There are far more serious problems in the world-
Lose the binoculars and get a telescope- the Big Picture is far more serious..

Huh???
“Amway is a direct selling company and manufacturer that uses network marketing to sell a variety of products, primarily in the health, beauty, and home care markets.[3][4][5] Amway was founded in 1959 by Jay Van Andel and Richard DeVos.”
Where does FDR come in?

» Posted By jkkFL On August 10, 2011 @ 11:11 pm

She Does Flame!!!

» Posted By jkkFL On August 10, 2011 @ 10:57 pm

KQ- “the GOP has transformed into a major party this country has never seen before.”

That is the exact problem. Bravo.

» Posted By jkkFL On August 10, 2011 @ 10:55 pm

@tex- what is your point Exactly- other than the fact that Obama isn’t conducting business to your liking??
Do you realize that 600,000 kids in Somalia are about to die, in addition to the 26,000 that have already died? That’s a generation- in case you don’t realize it..
There ARE other issues that are greater than your pissing contest with Obama supporters.

The End of Jobs in America

Em- I was not referring to Chinese made products , per se;
I was referring to taxing American companies who outsource… companies like Nike who took manufacturing overseas and can bring the product back unpunished.
(and I would disagree with Anything Trump said- even if I agreed with it! πŸ™‚

» Posted By jkkFL On August 8, 2011 @ 5:52 pm

and..Tax the hell out of the goods they are importing, as a result of outsourcing.

» Posted By jkkFL On August 8, 2011 @ 11:36 am

In the midst of all this doom and gloom, I found one tiny victory for the US worker..
The backlash against outsourcing customer service reps has finally turned the trend.
Companies who outsourced those jobs are bringing them back to the US due to customer outrage and outright refusal to talk to “Peggy” in Siberia. πŸ˜‰
The US call center industry has grown by 200% in the first two quarters, and it’s growth is projected to increase thru the end of the year.
(This does Not include telemarketing- which is another worm entirely.)

Downgrading the Downgraders

I Do know the difference between Fact and Opinion.

» Posted By jkkFL On August 8, 2011 @ 10:55 pm

I don’t understand the relevance of this to my comment..

» Posted By jkkFL On August 8, 2011 @ 5:28 pm

BSM, I have one small bone to pick with your post- the rest is subject to opinion- and I won’t go there..
“and when Enron eventually collapsed, it only ruined Houston.”
My IRA and Fidelity Magellan fund managed to beam me to Houston, then- because I took hits in increments of $6- 13,000 in just a few months.
The Enron debacle took more of a toll in 2001, than just “Houston”.. and if you ask around you will find many more unwilling ‘participants’.
