When Obama did his apology tour, don’t get me wrong as I think that was a very good thing, but look at how Obama has not stopped the wars, and then think for a minute when it comes to the world, that he’s broken a promise. We’ve lived in Europe, and trust me on this, the majority of Europeans do not hate us – regular Americans because they get politics – and they know how to differentiate between people and government – but when it comes to our enemies – and is it wrong to say the radical Islamic people – well, they hate us and the wars and broken promises are not a good thing. Think back to history and remember the Christian Crusades, because that’s what they think and truly believe are happening. I’m like you in that whenever those commercials come on about animal abuse, I just can’t handle that and quickly change the channel. War is an ugly business and you must know Vietnam Vets, or vets from other wars, and none of them are pro-war after serving and seeing actual combat and having to kill. This video is NOT about those who serve, but it is about the cover-up from generals and the pentagon. We need to know the truth, because neither of these wars are just. The wars now – both Iraq and Afghanistan – are sanitized wars, whereby we don’t really see them, and unless you actually know someone serving or a family that has someone serving, these wars do not touch us. We need to see it. We have caused so much suffering to innocents and every time an innocent is murdered by our government, puts us at greater risk for retaliation. You remember Vietnam, and how every single night while we ate our dinners, the TV showed Vietnam and the horrors. Honest to goodness, where I live I’d never even know we were fighting 2 wars if it weren’t for the Internet and to make it worse, we are not the good guys. At least we have NATO forces in Afghanistan, but what we did in Iraq is unforgivable. You think Mai Lai was bad, Iraq is even worse. Yes, Saddam was a bad guy, but the sanctions were working and he wasn’t a direct threat to us, and that entire thing was so bungled from start to finish and so many people, including Americans died for what? The truth should be told as you say, but that’s it – we’re not getting the truth and this video is only one small start to that. These wars need to end and we need to bring our service people home. These wars are not making us safer, but just the opposite. Arpaio last year sued the Board of Supervisors and county administrators, saying they mismanaged the agency. Judge Robert Oberbillig granted the county’s motion to dismiss. Arpaio said he would appeal the decision and take the fight to federal court. The suit is the latest in a string of legal losses by Arpaio and County Attorney Andrew Thomas against the supervisors. Thomas stepped down as county attorney Monday to run for higher office. We actually had to move from a beautiful campground because we weren’t good enough – that RV was really old, but jeepers – and the company was paying the rent on the site and it was not cheap – $1400/month but we were so harassed by management and people that lived there during the summer that we had to leave. Those people acted like they lived in Beverly Hills, when it was a campground for godsakes – so we moved to a KOA in Coteau du Loc, which was really gorgeous with all the waterways and lakes, so it ended up being a good thing. Our friends from Laval came to visit us and spent the night in a fancy tent, and every time they went into our camper to use the bathroom, they removed their shoes no matter how many times we told them not to bother! And while in Laval – it’s another island that’s part of Montreal – we partied at their site a few times and when we went into their beautiful trailer, we knew to take our shoes off. Here’s where Karma came in – we just received an email from our friends from Montreal informing us that the campground in Laval was sold to a developer and all them people have to find a new campground to stay. That’s a hardship for most of them people since they regarded that Laval campground as their private high class subdivision. Those people live in Montreal through the spring and summer, and then after Labor Day they pack up and go down to Florida mainly, but some go to Texas and a few to California. They are full-time RVers, and they did own them gorgeous, huge bus-type RVs and those 5th wheels, and I guess I can understand why they would have hated us because of our RV, but think there was a bit of hating American thing going on, too. Montreal was not the best experience for us, but once we moved to Coteau du Loc, everything changed. » Posted By javaz On April 5, 2010 @ 5:29 pm I know exactly what you describe about the hole in the ground restrooms and the culture shock seeing that from our time in France and traveling around Europe. When I first saw one of those pits, it took me a few minutes to figure out how to use it! We had a dentist in Paris that had the best loo – it worked by motion censor and the minute you entered the bathroom, the seat automatically lifted and some sort of spray and sponge thing wiped the seat and then it attached a paper covering before lowering! It was awesome and this is funny, but we knew other Americans over there and told them about it and they went to our dentist just to use the loo! LOL And I remember one in Germany that the seat actually spun and was sanitized in the process and I carry covers so added that, and I guess I wasn’t fast enough in doing my business as the seat started spinning while I was on it! And we made friends with the original owners, and then POOF! They were gone and then they sold homes worth a half a million dollars during the peak for under $100,000. The people who have bought on the auctions are making a killing, and you would not believe the vast changes they are making to the existing homes – but it just makes us so angry that the original buyers who loved their homes – why couldn’t the banks deal with them? And I really want to know who pays for the difference? The banks took a HUGE loss, and I want to know who pays for that? This crap about the banks and bailouts just makes me so angry, and frankly, I’m so tired of being outraged and angry. Deep breath on my part, but since reading about everything here on the Planet, and honestly, this is the best site that changes my mind because I used to take the hard-line on things, like the conservatives, but this site and the members have really opened my eyes. I just do not understand why a lender would evict a buyer because they could no longer make their mortgage, and then take the house and put it up for auction and take far less than the original price. Why couldn’t banks work with the original owner and lower the monthly payment for them to stay in their home? And who pays for the loss on the house? You guys have changed my mind on teabaggers – as I do now consider them all racist, ignorant hateful people that you cannot ever deal with, but you’ve also opened my eyes to the lending practices. I love this site and the honest discussions we have here – heck, I might just be turning into a Liberal!
