Displaying 811 To 840 Of 4,429 Comments Hey, everyone. I just wanted to let you know that I’ve contacted the cancer center through their site and have sent an email to him. I really do not know what to do and have considered calling, but not sure if they would release any information to a virtual stranger or virtual friend. Let me know if you think I should give it a shot and call down there. I am extremely worried. Thanks. » Posted By javaz On April 13, 2010 @ 5:10 pm I am so trying to quit reading the normal sites that I read, and trying to quit blogging, and desperately trying not to follow politics anymore because I am so burned out on it all. I need a mental health break from it all and want to go back to my youth when I didn’t follow any of it, because I was young, dumb and happy. Well, today we were invited for lunch and a movie at a neighbor’s and we consider these neighbors very good friends. We do know that they are Republicans and FOX watchers, and so we’ve always steered clear of politics, until today. Broke a golden rule and talked a bit of politics and my gosh, what a difference to actually talk politics with FOX loyalists compared to reading their crap online. Our neighbors truly believe that Obama is going to take their guns away and they hate him with a passion. It’s a bit unreal and there was no reasoning with them whatsoever – but in Arizona they and by they I mean the Republican legislature have put forth some of the most liberal gun policies in the nation. Concealed is legal now for anyone and everyone and no one needs to take classes or apply for a license or anything, and also, the legislature has passed the law that the Republican governor will assuredly sign that allows sellers to sell guns with no background checks. Somehow our neighbors think Obama is behind that and that he wants something to happen to have the excuse to take their guns. I know! We explained that it was the Republicans in the state doing this and it has nothing to do with Washington DC, yet they don’t believe that for one minute because Obama has an agenda for everything he does and it’s to lead us to socialism, take everyone’s guns and make us a 3rd world nation, like France. WTF? They are also on the side of the rich and think the rich shouldn’t have to pay more taxes and they side with corporations in that they shouldn’t have to pay taxes and we were just shocked and felt badly that we tried having the discussion. D’graz and I both explained that all the tax breaks in Arizona on corporations are fine and dandy, but the corporations are outsourcing more jobs and taking advantage of the tax-breaks but not hiring Americans. Corporations have set up their main offices here, but they are laying off American workers and outsourcing. Our neighbors didn’t believe us, because we’re liberals, dontcha know. Whoa. FOX and the Republicans sure have done a great job of convincing their followers to be against their own best interests and it just amazes me and I’ll make sure to never bring up anything political again! What a difference to actually talk to FOX Republicans compared to reading this crap on the Internet. Oh, and these people are not religious-right – in fact they are not religious at all, and they are angry about the AZ legislature trying to change the state’s constitution so that tax dollars will go for private and parochial schools. I just don’t get it but what an eye-opener. » Posted By javaz On April 11, 2010 @ 8:31 pm E’cat – he could sneak in and have lunch or dinner with President Obama like that couple – you know who I mean, right? Wouldn’t that be something? » Posted By javaz On April 9, 2010 @ 6:46 pm WOO-HOO! B’ito, we are so praying for you and sending our positive thoughts your way. Let me know if there is anything we can do! » Posted By javaz On April 9, 2010 @ 6:42 pm Khirad! Wondered if you were flying or driving out. So good to see you and you must keep us posted with your travels. Never been to DC and please take lots of pictures to share with us all. Take care and safe journey. » Posted By javaz On April 9, 2010 @ 6:34 pm If the MSM spent half the time focusing on the positives from HIR as they do Tiger Woods, there wouldn’t be so many misconceptions. Does anyone watch David Letterman? If so, did you see Chris Rock this past week? Rock said that Tiger would do great at the Masters because the man has not had sex since Thanksgiving and all that pent-up energy would pay off on the course and he was right! Does anyone watch Craig Ferguson and if so, what do you think of his new sidekick Geoff Pederson? » Posted By javaz On April 9, 2010 @ 5:22 pm Well, here’s some good news! And what song is it? dr’graz is still working on trying to get us DSL – » Posted By javaz On April 9, 2010 @ 4:54 pm Great BT!!! Hey, are you a musician? Am curious because you asked me that time, and sent me to the music site – and if you are a musician, do you play guitar and if so, what do you play? And if so, have you ever been in a band? Believe it or not, my husband and I both played with local bands twice – well, not the entire band but with a drummer once from a local band and then a second time with a lead guitarist, and that was a blast! » Posted By javaz On April 9, 2010 @ 4:46 pm I’d like to start another movement and tell me what you think. Like with most everyone else, I’m so burned out with the party of NO, and the bickering between the right and the left, and the FOX pundits, and all the bad news that we’re inundated with daily. So, I’d like to propose that we start another movement whereby we take a day off per week – maybe just a few hours one day per week – and focus on the positive for a change. No talk about Sarah, or Newt, or Rush or Beck – but good news/positive stories and positive comments about our elected officials or whoever. What do you think? Isn’t anyone else burned out on it all? It might just catch on! » Posted By javaz On April 9, 2010 @ 4:39 pm Good morning, B’ito and everyone! Any idea when they’ll spring you from the joint and let you go home? It’s always a pleasure to see you and so happy that you are back! » Posted By javaz On April 9, 2010 @ 6:57 am Sheriff Joe update – Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio continues to rattle his political sabers (and keep the media foaming at the mouth), claiming now that he’s taking the next step in getting his name on the ballot for this year’s gubernatorial election. Arpaio, who has been stirring up rumors that he would run for months, now says he is shopping around for companies that could collect enough signatures to get his name on the ballot. “I’m just doing my homework,” Arpaio tells the Arizona Guardian. “I’m looking for a company that’s reliable and professional in case I need one. With the corrupt Andy Thomas running for the state’s AG and his good buddy in corruption Arpaio running for governor, if by some nightmare they win, I do believe we would run as fast as we could out of the state! » Posted By javaz On April 8, 2010 @ 6:54 pm Have a great trip! Take photos to share! » Posted By javaz On April 8, 2010 @ 6:26 pm Arizona Legislature is trying to change the state’s constitution to allow public funds to go to private and parochial schools – On a 3-2 vote Wednesday night, the Senate Committee on Education Accountability and Reform approved sending a measure to the ballot that would allow the state to give tax-funded vouchers to parents whose students are attending schools which the state Department of Education has labeled as “failing.” The amount of that voucher would be whatever the state would have given to the public school or the amount of the private school’s tuition and fees, whichever is less. But the wording of the measure actually would open the door wider: It seeks to repeal an entire section of the Arizona Constitution which specifically bars the use of public dollars “in aid of any church, or private or sectarian school.” http://www.eastvalleytribune.com/story/152599 Think CAP or Focus on the Family wrote this bill? » Posted By javaz On April 8, 2010 @ 8:51 am Excellent diary from dailykos regarding the image of the USA and the Republican’s rhetoric against President Obama and Democrats – Today, The Guardian in the UK published an article by Dan Kennedy, assistant professor of journalism at Northeastern University in Boston. Do you have any idea when they’ll let you go home, b’ito? » Posted By javaz On April 8, 2010 @ 6:49 am I think it has to do with self-esteem. They have low self-esteem, and feel threatened, so they choose to look down on others and find fault, so that it makes them feel better. Isn’t there a saying about the faults you see in others are the faults you possess yourself? » Posted By javaz On April 7, 2010 @ 8:08 pm Wow, Patsy, you do know that the Tea Partiers accused Obama of being a Muslim because Obama wasn’t wearing shoes? OMG! This is proof! I tell you, it’s all about shoes and shoe bombs! That’s why we don’t wear shoes in our house! It’s because our feet could stink like bombs! (we have tossed our throw rugs so as not to be confused with prayer rugs! and yes, I am kidding!) » Posted By javaz On April 7, 2010 @ 8:02 pm Seems I am the only one here, pretty much, so let me tell you a story. Yesterday we went to the Boyce Thompson Arboretum and we went with our very Republican, Reagan-loving friend Dick. Dick turned off FOX and hates them and hates Limbaugh, Beck and O’Reilly, and he hated W from the get-go and voted for Kerry and then voted for Obama, even though does still say the N-word freely when he talks about black people. Cher would not have Dick as a friend, but we’ve known him for at least 25 years, and the transformation when it comes to him is astounding. He has gay daughters and both him and his wife just hate that, yet they love them and support them and it’s really hard for them to even begin to think that their beliefs are so in contrast to how they live. One of their gay daughters has a partner and they’ve been together for years and that was a real problem for years because they did not welcome the daughter’s partner into their home, but it’s all good now. That gay daughter and her partner adopted a black baby, and that was another issue for them, but they have always loved that baby and showered that little boy with gifts and have helped that daughter and her partner with raising that angel. The little boy is 5 now, and he so loves Dick and his wife and he’s smart as a whip, and Dick loves that grandson so much and he’s so proud of him, yet he still uses the N-word freely. Isn’t that something? If anyone were to look at his grandson and say the N-word, Dick would be the first one to step up and slam them, yet he himself uses that word so freely. I don’t get it, either, but if you could see them and see how they whip out the pictures of the grandson and brag about their daughter and are so proud of them, yet they are the most prejudice people. I mean, what a conundrum. They truly believe being gay is a mental disorder and they say the N-word right and left, yet when it comes to their daughter and her partner and that little boy, they do not see sexual orientation or color. Dick loves Obama, and loves the HIR, and he mocked all the fear and the lies from the right – and well, it’s just something for us. Dick is very anti-Mexican, and believes that the “liberal” media is going after Sheriff Joe because of Joe’s anti-immigration thing, and I tried to explain to him that that wasn’t true and that Sheriff Joe has abused his power, but he wouldn’t hear of it and actually got angry, so I shut up. I’m hoping his daughter and her partner adopt a Mexican child next! LOL » Posted By javaz On April 7, 2010 @ 7:38 pm These people are out of control and regardless what Murdoch says, his FOX and his media are encouraging this type of ludicrous behavior. He’s selling a CD/DVD for the Tea Partiers – just saw the commercial on the tee-vee with the songs and accompanying videos and he wrote a song for Sarah Palin – something about the mainstream media calling her caribou – that was hilarious and am not sure if he meant it to be for her or against her – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yG9LqX6xGpQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y3cENlRzEyc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q59ZcFguUOo Glad to see someone else cashing in! 😆 » Posted By javaz On April 7, 2010 @ 4:32 pm Oh gosh, BT – who knows what the Arizona Legislature will do next. Selling guns without background checks to anyone over 18 sure seems like a bad idea. At least the Goldwater Institute is paying for the lawsuit the governor is filing against HIR and not the taxpayers. » Posted By javaz On April 7, 2010 @ 4:22 pm It’s a good sign to be hungry, isn’t it? Still no word from B’ito?
WTF?
Love Chris Rock, and he made a hilarious prediction/joke about Tiger that has proven to be true.
Maybe we could do 4 hours every Friday that focuses on the good news of the week for a change.
Doesn’t anyone else think we need a break and should take perhaps 4 hours one day a week to post all positive comments?
