There’s this “intern” type of program which you can do yourself…or you (not you personally, coffeegod) can just keep buying those big toys on credit beyond one’s means and leave it to the next generation anyway.
To paraphrase Paul Simon’s “Mrs Robinson”:

But my immediate thoughts on seeing 2CCP’s post was not limited to DOMA or any other issue currently slated or being championed for coming under the potential process of appeal in this country or any of it’s states to the exclusion of all else that awaits in the wings that needs be addressed(poste haste)when even preliminary, temporary laws could be considered and passed for a drift of other concerns facing this country.
While the wheels of law and justice turn at about one 20th of a revolution in comparison to the needs of this nation and all of it’s people..even in a good decade of days, I can’t help feeling drowned each day in the ongoing list in the ‘news’ of things that have taken years to be addressed by legislature (some vital, some critical, some frivolous, some urgent years ago, some socially warranted, etc) only to be voted on then reinserted on the docket by either party in government within a matter of weeks. Meanwhile old efforts to move on laws that should have been dispensed of or created remain a part of the back log and the needs that would be addressed by them forgotten by government.
This little rant of mine is not about DOMA. I support DOMA. Neither is it about net neutrality, which if what it means at this point is that corporate America gets the hell off of my internet…I’m for that too. Yet both of these items and a slew of other passed or failed legislation (fair or otherwise)is cutting in at the front of the line for repeal leaving volumes of items unaddressed and left as unimportant. Some of them are important. Very important and have been for some time. And still, they wait for the positioning that can be bought by the political parties in this country to position themselves on hot button items in time for the next election.
Let me through this out there for your consideration or ridicule…
We either need a branch of representation in government to address these items of repeal that take place weeks after passage/failure or we need to place a time limit (of sorts) on a waiting period before a newly pass/fail bill can be repealed.
More succinctly, we need a law that addresses this problem in one way or another…like yesterday.
Unfortunately, the way this freakin’ system is structured now, if through some act of magic and wonder this could be done, it would probably also be up for repeal by the end of the week anyway along with every other repeal effort on the docket and further clogging the pipes for other legislation that has been waiting for years already.

Stress is arguably the leading cause of wearing us down to the point of demise. Not a direct killer in itself, but the very real production facility for the host of free radicals and enzymatic toxins that wear down the vital organs and functions of the human body.
We are all born with instinctive “fight or flight” mechanisms that inspire us to react to a variety of situations whether they are in fact life threatening to begin with. The seesaw that these inherent reactions have us on, is by definition what stress actually is, not so much what the externals of our lives present us. We also all have the tools to alter and control this reflex…again not externally, but internally.
While hardly easy or immediate, there are means that sentient beings, capable of reason and thinking outside of the animal box can use to internally regulate our immediate reactions to the situations we encounter in the world around us.
I do not promote any religious ritual, cult or polysyllabic, new age course of self help study or the dedicated adulation of any army of deceased authors or some similarly inspired piece of fiction.
But the means to make an end run around stress has been available and in practice since before we ultimately found the courage to leave the cave after sunset.
This information is available from a hundred sources.
Stress, and especially the killing kind is an internal, wild animal that can (and has been proven to) be made docile to the betterment of me, you and everyone we interact with.
Unfortunately, being a personal and internal function that can be used to effect supposed external stimuli, it is ‘a door that opens in’ …making it poorly packaged for consumption in the mind set we often find ourselves locked into in the 20th and 21st centuries.
..And no..I’m not only, not a doctor or a Guru…I don’t even play one on TV.
But banishing those we disagree with to silence while we ourselves retain the right to speak our own individual piece at will, is an abyss I wouldn’t want to see go wholesale.
Ours is a life filled with moments that take us out of our comfort zones whether they be defined our physicality, intellectuality or sensibilities.
In the course of things, extremes will be met.
The filtering is the individual internal process (not a social one)with which we need to rely on to maintain our balance.
(Keeping in mind…this is hardly irrefutable law, just my opinion at this particular juncture in my own personal journey…and no more valid than any observations others may have at their particular juncture, in their individual journey.)

On the one hand this could be the worst that could happen. On the other, it could be just the thing we need to fine tune our social filters and identify the genuine intelligent wheat from the knee jerk, emotional chaff.
In either event, free speech does not imply that people don’t talk as they please. To the contrary, it should remind us that we don’t have to lend an ounce of credibility to those things we’re exposed to that offend our sensibilities or can be recognized as little more than grunts from the boars beyond the tree line.
Try to think of free speech as a honing stone that allows us all to put a finer edge on our listening.
And as Max Ernst so eloquently put it into perspective:
“Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and ignorant; they too have their their story.”
But you know what they say, “Advice is probably the cheapest thing on earth…and you only get what you pay for.”
My advice would be no better than anyone else might offer.
Best I keep trying to just see things clearly and for what they actually are. It’s not a glamor job…but somebody has their aspirations.
Regardless the name used or misused, there are organized efforts working in oscurità to promote their own agendas.
Thinking so, does that make one paranoid?

Being new here at one time yourself, I’m sure you have an understanding of the arc of the learning curve…and I don’t for a minute assume myself on equal footing with you for your agility, specifically or in general.
Please know that will be making and honest effort to “get there”.
Sadly, for myself, it took (literally) years and a gazillion postings of comments and replies to ultimately realize the futility of my time and efforts as well as a host of other people (many with superior intellects and communicative abilities)to the benefit of supporting the growth of yet one more field of fluff and treacle on the internet, disguising itself as a valid provider of news and information.
The “aggregation” is driven to such a point that little offered there is anything more substantial than the daily, weeping discharge of AP releases such as can be found on Yahoo, MSN and a shitload of other factoid delivery services and worse a vigilant force of moderators who come armed with anonymity to protect the ideological leanings of the site rather than the etiquette awareness loosley implied by the terms of use and service.
Anyone who has been there has been there…and anyone just being introduced will ultimately see that in spite of the recent HP/AOL merge, that assimilation/association took shape a long time ago.
