I remember very well when the first monks set themselves on fire. Most people thought is horrific but could not connect that to the coming of the Vietnam War. In November, Michigan passed on of the slicker and sleazier laws called “Emergency Mangers” which means that at any time without vote, a municipal government can appoint anyone of their choosing to run any office they want, displacing any elected official they want. They have started with Detroit with the inner city schools—as a way to save money.
