I Like Cookies

My Lebananese relatives make something that looks very similar to those, sometimes with rose icecream, sometimes apricot. they are pretty tasty.

Selma’s oatmeal cookies.(from a recipe from the “I hate to cook cookbook) My momma used to make them when I was coming up. Crisp, light, sugar coated. Heaven.

Facing Ignorance

People, in general are susceptable to fearmongering, demogagory, and the ignorance that so often accompanies it. The problem, as I see it is that many of these crack pots have been given unpresidented access to the MSM, and are treated like credible commentators. Most of them are most certainly not. They spend their days formenting outrage, creating false equivalencies and soft-pedaling racism.

As a country, we are in deep trouble when we characterize college educated and liberals as effete latte-sipping socialist/marxist/muslims. I am 46 years old and I remember a time when sending your kid to college was a great source of pride for most families.

Until people get tired of what is being spoon-fed to them, until, the MSM quits treating crack-pots like Oricles, I don’t see this changing.

Democracy Is Not Broken

Well, there it is – a fine piece of writing, Adonai. I have a very good friend, who is an arm chair revolutionary. Oh he is having a grand time watching the people of Egypt stand up against their corrupt goverment, all from the relative comfort of his lazy boy. When I invite him to a rally or political event, I get angry ramblings about who nothing is going to change. We all know people like that, they want someone else to do the work while they complain.
