Morning Blog-3-11-10

Kalima,

I’m sure you’re fast asleep by now, but yes my furry things woke me up — again!

I think I’ve solved the mystery. They think I need to be up before they can eat. As soon as my feet hit the floor, 12 paws scurry off to the food — to hell with me. 😈

Yes, more snow, but not as much as BDM. This is from New York, but I believe it went right up the coast.

Hello Kalima!

I keep meaning to tell you how much I appreciate your daily posts. I do read the news, but I enjoy “24 Hours in Pictures” the most; must be because I’m a photographer wannabe. πŸ™‚

Khirad…all they do is whine, complain, whine a little more, ad infinitum. It’s the only thing they know how to do except when a Repub is POTUS.

I’d just appreciate a hard copy in a frame! I’m about ready to go buy a frame and use the sample picture of some kid πŸ˜†

It took awhile, but maybe it’s a good thing.

The TB folks have done nothing but give themselves a bad name. They’ve hooted, hollered, waved nasty and disrespectful posters, and pretty much behaved like Kindergarteners.

IMO, those of us in the “Grass” — whatever chosen movement — appear to be more philosophical, thoughtful, diverse, and working for the common good. The biggy though is Common Sense πŸ™‚

I just did, but did I miss something? I didn’t read where Facebook was a requirement…course it’s still early and I’m not really awake. πŸ˜†

I am on Facebook, but rarely go there anymore. Used it primarily to see pics of the Grandkids since uploads are the only thing my daughter does these days.

She certainly summed it up and in 4 minutes 34 seconds no less. And…Extemporaneously to boot!

[…]the people in Congress need to realize we’re paying them to represent us and they work for us — not corporations[…][…]stop fighting and do your jobs[…]

Still snowing πŸ™ yes.

I have a couple of Junk Drawers too. They seem to collect all the small junk that would be forever lost in the JR. πŸ˜†

» Posted By boomer1949 On February 25, 2010 @ 3:53 am

Good evening Kalima. I don’t know which is worse — to be freezing or to be wet and freezing. I have an extra pair of water wings if you can’t find yours in the JR. πŸ˜†

And they were quite the fashionistas at the time too! And…I dressed like that myself…what a hoot! πŸ˜†

Hello everyone. 27F and a light dusting of snow; just enough to make rush hour a headache this morning. I don’t know about anyone else, but this cold-snowy-no-sunshine-weather is beginning to take its toll on me and nearly every person I’ve encountered lately. Grumpy, cranky, and sullen…maybe this will make a difference πŸ™‚

Good evening Kalima,

I agree with you 150% — mornings do arrive sooner that I would like. I just wish my kitties would let me sleep in on the weekend; they make me get up because they’re hungry. Once fed, I’m wide awake and they go back to sleep.

Going to read the news and check out the pictures. Be back soon!

» Posted By boomer1949 On January 30, 2010 @ 3:53 am

Yes, I was getting ready for work and am so glad it’s my Friday and your Saturday. πŸ˜‰

I actually read the link about the trial and am just now getting around to the pictures.

I going to do some searching to see if there’s anything out there regarding 1992/Robertson/700 Club.

» Posted By boomer1949 On January 29, 2010 @ 10:17 am

Good evening Kalima,

Scott Roeder is about as Fundamental as Pat Robertson could ever hope. The fact Mr. Roeder was a follower pretty much sums it up.

Roeder told the jury he was born again in 1992 after watching an evangelical TV show, the 700 Club. “That day I knelt down and I did accept Christ as my saviour,” he said.

It would be interesting to know what Robertson was preaching in 1992 and on the day Roeder fell to his knees.

I always feel like a zombie Kalima. Sunday night, into Monday, I was up until 4 am. Monday was extremely unproductive. It was all I could do to stay awake. πŸ˜€

Good Evening Kalima and Good Morning bito,

Heavens, it’s been 4 weeks since the actual incident and it’s taken him this long to “claim responsibility”? Must not be receiving the attention he thinks he deserves and needs to rattle his chains.

By the way, he cleaned litter boxes and fed my kitties yesterday. Jeeze, he sure gets around! πŸ˜†

Tiger,

I just read pretty much the entire thing by going through the links attached with the article.

I even visited the websites. What do you think? There’s even a suggestion that the paternal grandmother has a connection with Porter; was it all about the money? Was it a frame of Kelsey’s mother. What’s the consensus out your way. Or am I being naive about Kelsey’s mom?

Beautiful little girl, and such a sad story. πŸ˜₯

Honest to Pete, there are people on this planet who have never had a clue. She obviously falls into the “no clue” category. Stupid is a preexisting condition. πŸ™„

Welcome LABC63!

Time will relieve the edge from the withdrawal; it’s normal. You’ll find this a cool place to be because:

1. Planeteers respect each other.
2. Planeteers can disagree without slinging mud.
3. Planeteers live all over the world, yet we care about each other as if we were next door neighbors. After you’ve been here awhile and go missing for a few days, count on someone asking, “Has anyone seen LABC63 lately?”
4. You will like it here.

Welcome!

Nite Kalima,

See you in your morning…

» Posted By boomer1949 On January 17, 2010 @ 6:23 am

Good evening Kalima,

You dance when you’re cooking? Me too — when I cook that is. πŸ™‚

I’m glad there was no cliff handy, and I agree one can only take so much of Abba. My daughter was a dancer for thirteen years, and the production numbers brought back fond memories.

I must confess…I bought the DVD. Played it incessantly for at least a couple of months. I’m over the obsession.

Oh, and there’s another you might want to see. “Up In the Air” http://www.theupintheairmovie.com, starring George Clooney . It’s a dark comedy.

A friend and I were going to go see it together, but I saw it by myself over the holidays. I don’t think she’ll like it. She only enjoys mindless comedy — she never wants to see, do, or listen to anything that makes her think about the realities of the world. Actually, I’m not quite sure why we’ve remained friends all these years. We’re complete opposites. How weird is that?

» Posted By boomer1949 On January 17, 2010 @ 6:04 am

Oh Kalima, you’re going to think I’m crazy, but I love Mamma Mia. And yes, the older members of the cast were way out of their element — for sure. What I enjoyed about it most was each of them was willing to step outside the box (a certain comfort zone) and just have fun. Pierce Brosnan a singer? Of course not, yet he seemed to be enjoying himself.

I don’t know, maybe I’m slightly outside the box myself. I just enjoyed seeing old farts like me doing something so out of character.

Have you seen Julie and Julia?”

Imagine Meryl Streep as Julia Child . πŸ™‚

Kalima,

Yes it’s my day off, but the furry ones don’t know the difference between a work day and a day off. So, up I am, however I didn’t slosh my coffee like javaz! πŸ™‚

I’m sorry the first link didn’t work…it’s a sound byte of a cartoon character named Daffy Duck; was trying to be slapstick, but maybe I didn’t insert the link correctly. I did try it several times and it worked for me. I might have missed something though.

Wonder if the artist owns stock in a push-pin company? lol!

Must be related to Dick Cheney.

As I was scrolling to read the article, I found this…this artist creates mosaic portraits with push-pins. Amazing!

Good evening Kalima,

Long and sleepless night here…finally drifted off at 4:00 am and my furry friends would not cut me any slack. Staying awake today will definitely be challenging.

Guardian photos lovely, sad in many respects, but lovely. The Tibetan children, their colorful dress, and rosy cheeks are absolutely adorable.

If only we could stop hunger, homelessness, and war.

Back to reading…but wanted to catch you before you signed off for the day.

Good evening Kalima,

We have plenty of snow here, and I would be happy to send some your way. I enjoy the first big snowfall of the season, but after that Spring doesn’t come soon enough.

Off to get ready for work. Enjoy the rest of your evening, and I’ll be back later.

» Posted By boomer1949 On January 12, 2010 @ 3:38 am

Good Evening Kalima~

6:12 am here and 15 degrees; still pitch black outside. Lord, I hate Winter. Why my parents ever left San Diego I will never know.

It’s going to be another stinky week…my car is still dead and I must depend on others for transportation. I so do not like asking for help. Not one of my better attributes.

So, I’m off for “…another manic Monday…” Have a good day/night and I’ll try to catch everyone later. πŸ™‚
