Time Out for OT – Vol 8

Thanks KQ — too cute! And my Monday in a nutshell.

» Posted By boomer1949 On May 17, 2010 @ 4:17 pm

Hi Em…

It’s great to hear from you and so glad you’re feeling better. Our fearless leader has abandoned us for ~ 2 weeks (the nerve of him) to like a a vacation. What’s up with that.

He asked that we not party too much or break his clown collection, but hey, Lise is our official milk monitor, and we know she won’t tell.

We’ve missed you!

Dear Bito,

So good to hear from you! But as AdLib said, please don’t feel any of us is pressuring you to post anything right now. Everyone was concerned is all. Thank you for checking in; we’re glad you did! By the way, haven’t you heard bald is sexy? πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰

A bito classical just for you…

Thank you javaz. Will keep thinking good thoughts for him. It was very kind of you to pursue this. I really appreciate your care and concern for B.

I replied to your first post regarding your Sunday visit, so won’t bore you by repeating it.

You know you have friends here and we’ll “listen” to whatever, whenever, & however. Venting is healthy and helps keep one’s head on straight. πŸ™‚

πŸ˜† πŸ˜† πŸ˜† Oy Vey!! Use it all the time – must mean I’m fluent in Hebrew too! Thus leading one to believe I’m Jewish. Right? Right!

By golly I love, love love, deductive reasoning. Makes things much more crystal clearer. πŸ™„

» Posted By boomer1949 On April 14, 2010 @ 3:34 am

We’re all concerned javaz, but I doubt anyone would tell any of us anything.

For starters, there’s the Hippa Act and it’s quite explicit:

Health Information Privacy
The Office for Civil Rights enforces the HIPAA Privacy Rule, which protects the privacy of individually identifiable health information; the HIPAA Security Rule, which sets national standards for the security … and the confidentiality provisions of the Patient Safety Rule, … U.S. Department of Health & Human Services… http://www.hhs.gov/ocr/hipaa/

A slippery slope to say the least, regardless of all the best and heartfelt intentions.

Ditto, and I was being sarcastic (not Ann Coulter sarcastic), just plain sarcastic.

Of course if they had passed a law requiring men to be scrutinized for physical and mental health issues BEFORE they whip it out, there would be no reason for women to even contemplate abortions. Sheesh!

javaz,

Question…where exactly did your neighbors stand during the 8 years of the Bush administration? Did they ever share any of their political opinions, feelings, or ideas with you and D’graz during that time? What do you think they would be saying if McCain were in the White House now instead of Barack Obama, the first African American POTUS? Are they paying attention to all the changes AZ legislators are legislating or are they picking and choosing?

It’s not about the policies of the White House, it’s about the ethnicity of the occupants in the White House.

You know, my father, my kids’ grandfather hasn’t seen me or them in well over 10 years. Why? Because he is like your neighbors. Trying to reason or have an intelligent, rational conversation with him about anything (race, religion, politics abortion, birth control, any topic was impossible. He lived in a box — I grew up in a box. He’s always believed I betrayed him, my mother, my siblings, and anyone else he could think of because I stepped outside the damn box. Because I chose a different path for myself and my kids.

Trying to reason with a Fox Republican is like trying to reason with a 2 year old; it’s next to impossible. Fox Republicans do not have cognitive development and neither do 2 year olds.

k’es and anyone else interested,

I just left a message @ 703.998.2138 regarding the PBS News Hour coverage of TW and the Masters. Will make you feel better to leave your 2 cents and much faster than an email! Told them they just lowered themselves to the likes of Entertainment Tonight. Yuck!!

And…for all my Planet Women peers…and this is soooo OT, but…and this comes from a breast cancer survivor…

POWER OUTAGE
At my recent assault trial, I offered a plea of “Guilty with an
explanation. ” The judge asked me what my explanation was, so I told my story.
“Your Honor,” I said, “I had a mammogram appointment, which I actually kept. I was met with: ‘Hi! I’m Belinda!’ This perky clipboard carrier smiled from ear to ear, tilted her head to one side and crooned, ‘All I need you to do is step into this room right here, strip to the waist, then slip on this gown. Everything clear?’

I’m thinking, ‘Belinda, try decaf. This ain’t rocket science.’

Belinda skipped away to prepare the chamber of horrors. With the right side finished, Belinda flipped me (literally) to the left and said, ‘Hmmmm. Can you stand on your tippy toes and lean in a tad so we can get everything?’

‘Fine’, I answered. I was freezing, bruised, and out of air, so why not use the remaining circulation in my legs and neck and finish me off? My body was in a holding pattern that defied gravity (with my other breast wedged between those two 4 inch pieces of square glass) when we heard, then felt, a zap! Complete darkness and the power went off!

‘Oh, maintenance is working. Bet they hit a snag.’ Belinda said, and headed for the door. ‘Excuse me! You’re not leaving me in this vise alone are you?’ I shouted.

Belinda kept going and said, ‘Oh, you fussy puppy…the door’s wide open so you’ll have the emergency hall lights. I’ll be right back.

‘ Before I could shout ‘NOOOO!’ she disappeared. And that’s exactly how Bubba and Earl, maintenance men Extraordinaire, found me … Half-naked…with part of me dangling from the Jaws of Life, and the other part smashed between glass!

Two hours later, Belinda breezes in wearing a sheepish grin. Making no attempt to suppress her amusement, she said, ‘Oh I am sooo sorry!’ The power came back on and I totally forgot about you! And silly me, I went to lunch. Are we upset?’

And that, Your Honor, is exactly how her head ended up between the clamps….”

The judge could hardly contain her laughter as she said ‘Case Dismissed!!’

oh bito,

We’re all pulling for you, worried about you, and wishing we could do so much more.

k’es mentioned Guinness…my son in-law’s favorite draft is Guinness. He and my daughter went to Ireland 11 years ago for their honeymoon. All three Grand kids have red hair and? not that they’re related or anything, but the family CAT and probably as old as Kalima’s Coco is named Guinness!! Looks like a small Mountain Lion or over weight Bobcat. πŸ˜†

OMG – PBS News Hour – has a piece about Tiger Woods, the Masters, and? Who the hell cares? I’m 😯

The time spent on this non-story could so change the lives of hungry, displaced kids, and their families, that for the first time, I’m extremely disappointed PBS made the decision to put his “rehab” and return to golf above children in this country who are hungry, homeless, and living in shelters.

Ooops – my GREEN is showing (off the charts actually) – and I’m not related to Kermit.
