of course….they just wanted to make sure you showered today, as opposed to schmucking around on the DAVENPORT! ๐Ÿ˜‰

KB, I’m sorry, but keep trying. I’m sorry it is more of a nuisance than anything else, but our “Fearless Leader” is in Palm Springs and, as you will eventually find out, “God” has left the building (for the moment at least).

» Posted By boomer1949 On January 30, 2011 @ 11:50 am

Van Jones got screwed; why did they sacrifice what’s his name?

» Posted By boomer1949 On January 30, 2011 @ 11:46 am

So, Fearless Leader…how is this going to work?

» Posted By boomer1949 On January 30, 2011 @ 11:02 am

KB, “we” who?

Oh, and welcome. I’m a former HP junkie, but left 12/09ish? I read, but no longer post. Thought I needed therapy until I found the Planet. ๐Ÿ™‚

No AB, I was first, but I hear kalima has rhinestone encrusted saddles. ๐Ÿ˜†

***Edit*** However, she must attend to the furry enclave before she is free to participate. I offered buttered popcorn, but she will probably be in the mood for tea & biscuits. ๐Ÿ™‚

We’ll save a seat for you; do you like butter on your popcorn? ๐Ÿ™‚

And for those of us who live in the East…that would be 2pm-7pm EST. I had to count on my fingers to figure that one out. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Uncloak the Kochs – Build Up to The Rally This Sunday

Thank you for adding the bells & whistles so the rest of us are able to be right there with you!

Seriously?

What bothers me most, (okay, there are a couple of things) besides the gazillion, millions of dollars these two use to rail road this country to their cheezy benefit are:

1. Buying the Repubs (Cantor is, is, I’m at a loss for words, and

2. Which should probably be first, Justices of the SOTUS have the unmitigated gall to be present and accounted for?

Uh, huh, and we’re supposed to believe they know what the hell they are doing, other than cow towing to being bought and paid for?

Puhleeze…

Abby,

We’re talking 30 years here. Sounds like another AdLib parody — 50 Ways to Let Your People Go.

Gee, what a concept…

Lincoln Chafee radio ban may be missing the point

Radio silence in Rhode Island where newly-elected Gov Lincoln Chafee issued a directive banning state workers –including himself– from giving interviews on talk radio while on the clock.

Chafee, an independent, says his decision has nothing to do with the politics of the shows (which have been mostly critical of him) but that they are “ratings-driven, for profit” enterprises. The governor doesn’t think it appropriate to use taxpayer resources –the state employee– to support such programming.

Chafee added that another reason for the ban is that talk radio programming is more interested in entertainment than news. For what it’s worth, talk show hosts often say this themselves –that what they do isn’t news; it’s “just a show.”

I was off Tues. b/c I was sick, so I have no choice but to go in this morning.

I doubt our office closes; just have to check my work email in a couple of hours.

Now I really do need to try to go catch a few zzzzs — the cats are incredibly confused and are looking at me with pleading eyes… “you mean you’re not going to feed us?”

» Posted By boomer1949 On January 11, 2011 @ 11:49 pm

Hey kes,

Actually I was asleep and then I wasn’t. Now I’m wide awake.

I laughed at the “All the kids are doing it” example b/c years ago my daughters’ Catholic HS continually preached no alcohol on campus, don’t drink and drive, don’t, don’t, don’t.

Yet when it came down to a meeting regarding a place for the grownups to hang out while the kids were at home football games and whether or not to sell beer & wine, some yahoo actually stood up and said, “But, but if we don’t sell alcohol, nobody will come!”

Let’s Get This Straight

Both sides are, in fact, not “just as bad,” when it comes to institutionally sanctioned violent and eliminationist rhetoric.

An anonymous commenter at Daily Kos and the last Republican vice presidential nominee are not equivalent, no matter how many ridiculously irresponsible members of the media would have us believe otherwise.

There is, demonstrably, no leftist equivalent to Sarah Palin, former veep candidate and presumed future presidential candidate, who uses gun imagery (rifle sights) and language (“Don’t Retreat, RELOAD”) to exhort her followers to action.

Seriously Mr. Finneman, we all know who signs your paycheck. Get your head out of your ass and into reality.

9/11, Oklahoma City, And Now: Lessons For Obama

We don’t yet know the extent to which the Tucson murders were about politics per se, though the alleged killer apparently did deliberately target a member of Congress. But violent national tragedies such as this one can profoundly affect the temper of the times–and the fate of the presidents who are in office when they happen.

The most vivid and obvious occurred almost a decade ago, when Al Qaeda attacked on September 11, 2001. President George W. Bush, his presidency until that point largely adrift, spoke amid the rubble of the World Trade Center four days later.

IMO — the greedy could give a rat’s ass about anyone but themselves and their families. All of them live in a bubble; none of them can define, much less spell reality.

Any organization spewing violence and hatred will usually, and to some degree, prevail.

On the other hand, what they collectively tend to forget and overlook, is how EASY it is to track them down and determine who the heck they really are…one IP address at a time…one IP address at a time. ๐Ÿ™‚

Trust me all y’all, I’ve C’dMA. Nothing specific, nothing to raise doubts, eyebrows, or by no means eliminate those who survive me or know me best. BUT, BUT…those who choose to disagree with my philosophy/outlook/opinion, should be forewarned. This is not a game; it is real, and those covering my ass, could give a flying fig about yours.

kes dear,

I’m going on 62 and have been around the block more times than I care to admit. However, I would not be able to sleep at night, knowing I did not have the cajonnes to stand up, speak up, or put myself out there the same as many of my West Coast friends. If I’m not willing to do this, then what’s the point?

Trust me kes, I will, and have taken the necessary precautions, to nominate/implicate those who choose to disagree with me…in writing, notarized, filed with the court, and a decision to purchase, register, and go for a Ohio-conceal-carry-permit. At this point in time, I will shoot first and ask questions later.

My middle name is May, not Intimidated.

kes, anything else is offline, ‘kay?

why?

Can’t deal with any of it and will be off the radar for the remainder of the weekend.

***Edit*** Any LEGITIMATE NEWS ORGANIZATION, believing it is UNBIASED and FAIR, needs to take a look see into the closet mirror.

IF, you the reporter, you the producer, and you the publicist, DO NOT see a reflection of your mother, grandmother, or great-grandmother in the nearest mirror, then maybe you need to take another look and do some serious soul and attitude-searching.

No one, regardless of skin color, ethnicity, country, city, or state of origin, deserves being treated as less than human. If the rest of us allow this to happen and continue, then WE are far more guilty than Assholes who recently won the 11/2010 election.

Think about it…

Seriously Cher,
As much as it upsets me, “We the People”, need to begin forcing the Far-Right, the Tea Party Bigots, and the Bought-and-Paid-for-Republicans to come up for air. Take a deep breath y’all, show your colors, prove us wrong.
Sorry, most of you (PlanetPOV.com family excluded) are undoubtedly reading this post for the second, third, fourth, fifth, + time.

Get a clue folks OR get a life!

bito dear,

Any image of the new “Weeper of the House”, exhibiting the same behaviors as my ALCOHOLIC FATHER, is worth a thousand words.

Unless one has lived it (alcoholism), one does not recognize it. Boehner drinks — period — and is a sad representation “Of the People, By the People, and For the People of the United States of America. I would never approve my father having so much power.

Seriously, y’all, the man could be my dad and unless one has been living under a rock, we should not be putting all of our eggs in JB’s basket.

The Dad either cried, was waaaaay to affectionate, or became vicious, vitriolic, and far to willing to challenge his imaginary opponents.

If we do not clip Boehner’s wings and/or force him into rehab, “liberty and justice for all”, becomes nothing but a crap load of hot air.

Thanks for the photo bito — just the image I wanted.
