I lived on the south shore of Lake Superior. It being the U.S. northern border, there was not much heavy industry there. However it being the southern border of Canada they did have heavy industry there. The worst polluters for the U.S. were in Duluth, Minn. and they finally cleaned that up fairly good. The “uppers” were always blaming the Canadian industries for dumping into the lake. Turns out, rightfully so. » Posted By bito On December 5, 2009 @ 8:57 am J’avaz, when I was a kid I spent a lot of time on the shores of Lake Michigan. When they opened the St. Laurence Seaway the alewives made it to the lake. they spawned and millions of them died to wash up on the shore. Do you know the smell of rotting fish? They had to develop machinery to try to clean them up of the beaches. The Great Lakes have had many invasive critters from the shipping, but these carp are something else. They are huge. » Posted By bito On December 5, 2009 @ 7:46 am 34 on my thermometer, but I live near a “river” and it is really low here. Followed a couple of links in the story and it turns out she may be flying around in a plane that belongs to a Christian charity! In this time of need for so many it really makes you want to give to a charity that may be flying SP around on a book tour. http://www.samaritanspurse.org/ Too much!! » Posted By bito On December 1, 2009 @ 10:31 am Wonder where Dylan got the story? And Cheney came in last. The new GOP “principles” were 90% were “we are against anything Obama is for. The other 10% was they were for the same old things–cut taxes, for guns, for anti-abortion. All really fresh stuff!lol » Posted By bito On November 30, 2009 @ 8:23 am BDM, This poll was just released. When I lived in Fl. people there wouldn’t believe me that when the fall storms came in that waves on the lake could get up to 10-15+ feet. That lake is large, deep and COLD.
Edit: They did find it, and they say the waves in the middle of the lake are 30+ feet during the “gales of November.”

With the Dems in leadership this year, they have put a lot of money into reinvigorating the clean up and strengthening the Can-Am Agreements.
It is a shame, all around the world, we treat our waterways, lakes, oceans as dumping grounds for so much waste.
Bonus question: what is the biggest lake in the U.S.?

Will this bill have everything I want? NO! will this bill have everything you want? NO! This will be a foot in the door for what everyone seeks, and that is the way all progressive-social justice legislation has always been done. Atta Boy Harry!
Now that didn’t take to long, did it? 1912-2009.
