FYI: On the Rev. Al show today he showed a segment from FORAtv and it reminded me of what a good site it is for some informative interviews.
http://fora.tv/

It has many segments that are one has to be a paying member but they also have a You-Tube channel

This is what Rev. Al had on today:

Patsy, let’s hope that he isn’t your next congressman and let’s hope that they redistricted enough Dems into the district to give Mr.Tetalman a real chance at Issa. Issa is going to be hard to beat, he has brought a whole bunch of bacon (No Ralph, not that kind 😉 )to that district while always complaining about how terrible it is.

#I am Troy Davis #Troy Davis Lives

Two NC men walk free after murder exoneration a day after Troy Davis was executed in Georgia.

“I think it’s interesting that this exoneration comes the day after the Troy Davis execution in Georgia,” said Mary Pollard, director of North Carolina Prisoner Legal Services. “We’re lucky to live in a state that, like any human system, admits we’re not perfect here and we provide avenues for folks to get relief if they were wrongly convicted.”

The hearing came after the North Carolina Innocence Inquiry Commission in April found enough evidence to indicate the men were not guilty, including the confession of another man and DNA testing that pointed to other suspects.

MSNBC did not mention this when reporting on the Solyndra hearings this morning nor the fact that D.Issa asked for funds in his district as part of this program, but then Luke Russert was giving the report.

Thanks invient,

I had been following it and catching some of it on twitter. I will click the link and have a look. It sure hasn’t received any MSM coverage, has it. Had it been a group of TP people it would have gotten daily coverage.

Calling Darrell Issa! Let’s see if you can look into this case?

VIDEO: FBI raids CA corporate, taxpayer-funded airport offices. “Is this the House GOP’s Solyndra?”

According to the piece, FBI agents and other law enforcement officers raided an airport out here in SoCal, specifically, in San Bernardino. They poked around storage units and Scot Spencer’s home and offices. Spencer is a convicted felon who got a couple of no-bid contracts four years ago to build the airport.

[…]

The cost to build the airport — which includes a luxury Million Air corporate jet terminal and a four-gate passenger concourse — has grown from $45 million to $142.5 million in local and federal taxpayer funds.

[…]

A veteran member of the House Appropriation’s Committee, [Republican Rep. Jerry Lewis] has helped push through congressional earmarks and other federal funding to steer more than $100 million to improvements at and around the property, and a host of defense-related projects centered there in an effort to redevelop the base, according to figures supplied by his office.

[…]

[San Bernardino County Supervisor Neil Derry, a member of the Inland Valley Development Agency board since 2008 said] construction at the airport progressed beyond the point where officials could pull the plug on the project. Now officials are left with a costly airport that has little hope of ever making money, Derry said.

It wasn’t just Troy Davis it is the state sanctioned murder that is the fight!
Is this going to be the next fight? We again be typing #toomuchdoubt and cursing the SCOTUS in the last days.

A large H/T and bow to karoli for this post.

Could Troy Davis Save Reginald Clemons?
http://crooksandliars.com/karoli/could-troy-davis-save-reginald-clemons

Please read and repost if you are able.

This is just a small portion of her post:

At the time of the crime, Reggie Clemons had a clean record, was in school studying to become a mechanic. There does not appear to be any common link between the victims, Clemons, or his friends.

The original suspect was a cousin of the victims, Thomas Cummins, who eventually implicated himself in the crime after his initial story came up short. Charges against Cummins were dropped and charges brought against the three African-American teenagers who were in the area that night. Clemons was one.

Police beat Clemons, denied him an attorney after he asked for one, and coerced a statement from him, admitting to rape of the girls but not pushing them off the bridge.
Thomas Cummins retracted his confession, claiming it had been beaten out of him. He settled his police brutality complaint and prosecutors dropped all charges. They ignored Clemons and his co-defendants’ claims of police brutality, dropped the rape charges, and charged them all with capital murder. Clemons charges stemmed from their theory of the case; namely, that he was an accessory to murder by virtue of being in the same location.

Reggie Clemons had extraordinarily ineffective attorneys. One of them was practicing tax law in California while returning to Missouri for court appearances.

The prosecutor improperly excluded African-American jurors from the panel. It was so egregious he was later sanctioned for it.

One of his co-defendants, Marlin Gray, was executed in 2009.

#toomuchdoubt

There’s more. But this gives you a flavor of what this case is about. As if all of that isn’t bad enough, there’s this nugget, discovered after 8th Circuit Court of Appeals stayed his execution: There is a rape kit from one of the victims in the police evidence room that has never been tested and was never brought forth at trial. A rape kit! Something that would have proven or disproven Reggie Clemons’ coerced confession.

Watching a bit of political banter and some C-Span:
Tax code reform, Total Tax Code Reform and all the other terms being used seems to me to becoming a diversion for the political pudnuts. Yes we need desperately and no the joint committee can’t tackle it by the November deadline! The last attempt at it was when Reagan and Tip O’Neal were in office and since then there have been thousands of “rules, changes and exemptions added and many millions of lobbyists money. To make any changes will take a huge amount of cooperation and compromise and it ain’t going to happen with this congress and not by November! They can’t even decide on disaster aid and funding FEMA, so get over it pudnuts. Address reality not rainbows and unicorns.
