A Short List of Pres. Obama’s Accomplishments

KevenSeven, admittedly this is one mistake Obama really has: He doesn’t sell himself very well. He prefers just doing his job and, as he said several times, he simply lacks the time to address childish rumors 24/7. Yet during the past 2 months or so he did improve in that respect, and I’m glad David Plouffe is back, for he is the man to pull the right strings in that respect.

Yet still, what the WH says is one thing, what the media say and do another. Just look at what people do for profit and/or for furthering their own hidden agenda? I’m talking about Huffington, Maher and such people who DO NOT BRING A SINGLE THING to the table, but are relentlessly bashing and criticizing (which of course is much easier to do than to create something on their own.). And this is only what was called -until recently!- the left.

So add to that mix no proper media laws, lies that go un-sued and unpunished and big money, that has even their own propaganda tool (aka Fox, and the GnOP’s very sophisticated message apparatus)

Now is all of this Obama’s fault? And what is the proper role for US in that unpleasant situation?

As some of us on Fluff used to say: there isn’t really that much difference between the teabaggers and the greenteabaggers….

Indeed, adLib. We have to change the message/narrative!

» Posted By Truth On February 13, 2011 @ 11:46 am

The true progressive voice is on here, AdLib – and I’m glad that I found it. More to that subject will follow. But now Good night (in India it’s past 1 am)

Thank you for this excellent compilation and the reminder, AdLib. I observe Obama closely, and he is working extremely hard to do as much as he possibly can for the sake of the people. It really gets to me why the left would turn against him! And moreover this serves merely the agenda of the rightwingers – remember, the right was about to die and we laughed about how they were going to be split and powerless. Instead, thanks in great part to people like Maher and Huffington the LEFT split, which handed the Republicans this undeserved victory in the midterms.

Everything from “Over There” belongs “Here!”

The things that happen in America have a direct impact on us wherever we are so I wanted to be informed.

Indeed!

Hi Kalima, and yes, this is the way to become strong, also in a political sense.
Thank you so much for creating The Planet!

» Posted By Truth On February 16, 2011 @ 9:23 pm

I made already a couple of suggestions concerning that at the help desk and AdLib is seeing into it. Since we are more people now, there will be more contributions and who knows, maybe sometime in the relatively near future we can get access to the replies we receive in one place.

It seems to happen to a lot of folks. I too gave up my alter ego as an American which I had to adopt on Hpoo due to the trolls.

But now I’m honestly sad that as a Swiss the President is not “my” President anymore. However I thought about it and I think I claim him anyway as mine!

» Posted By Truth On February 16, 2011 @ 7:06 am

My, I should have come here a few days later to get such a welcome from you!

» Posted By Truth On February 16, 2011 @ 7:01 am

What to do, it happens once in a while.
Just be careful to mention the planet if they’re deleting many of your posts, for it may mean they observe you closely. But as I posted on OT (and asked the editors to shift it to this thread) one ex-huffer got an email that they’re short on mods and therefore there’s more automatic moderation in place. Good for us, the censoring is less currently.

» Posted By Truth On February 16, 2011 @ 7:00 am

Hi Fi, I don’t know exactly how you wished the trollies a good morning, but obviously something went a bit wrong…

In any case, be careful if you feel that a human mod is stalking you. Sometimes they pick people out and read every post of them. It happened to me about 1 1/2 years ago. I think I complained in an email or two and didn’t post for several weeks, when I came back it was better. (That is, until the complete lockdown of the weeks before the aol sale.)

» Posted By Truth On February 16, 2011 @ 6:35 am

Most welcome, Itchybiscuit. Isn’t that aol thingy simply wonderful? It made us all come here to a REAL progressive site.

» Posted By Truth On February 16, 2011 @ 6:31 am

jkkFL, I’m going to put that on OT, this is good to know for everybody who goes there to scoop the cream from Ari’s coffee, meaning who are informing people there about planet pov. I think the censorship has been less stringent recently.

» Posted By Truth On February 16, 2011 @ 3:13 am

FI, I do the same. So far many said they came, but they didn’t. Nevertheless it’s good if they know where we are and that they are welcome.

» Posted By Truth On February 16, 2011 @ 3:09 am

Hi Algebra, Welcome. We all had to vent at first. After a while you’re going to feel better and get again access to your own inner wealth, that was so badly muzzled at HP: I’m looking forward to your POV! (point of view)

» Posted By Truth On February 16, 2011 @ 3:07 am

I would be happy to join you in the “Who Is Most Liberal” debate because I think I could prevail.

Applause and seconded, AdLib!

» Posted By Truth On February 16, 2011 @ 12:59 am

Your success rate is higher than mine… they say they come, but I have seen but one. In any case they know where to come and when the time is ripe they will. They can also other users let in if they know where we are.

For how I post mine, and i’m not very secretive, see on OT, my answer to Dood yesterday

» Posted By Truth On February 16, 2011 @ 12:55 am

Hi dct, very welcome. You don’t necessarily need to delete your account, it’s still useful to chime in once in a while and to bring more friends over. Now that I understood the game I can cope much better with it. But first, make yourself comfortable and take your time for detoxing…. 🙂

» Posted By Truth On February 16, 2011 @ 12:49 am

Khirad said it already, and very welcome to the Planet, Babs. Many of us are new on this site, I’m about 10 days old here.

» Posted By Truth On February 16, 2011 @ 12:45 am

Thankfully I’m going there only to scoop the cream of Whorianna’s coffee…. that is, I’m inviting more of my favorite posters over here.

» Posted By Truth On February 15, 2011 @ 10:35 am

Salvatoris, and one other thing: you don’t think HuffPost has ever been more left than this site, do you? If yes, you have been thoroughly duped.

» Posted By Truth On February 14, 2011 @ 12:11 pm

It’s hard for the bloggers who worked for free to realize that they have been cold-bloodedly abused. Mayhill hasn’t grasped it yet.

» Posted By Truth On February 14, 2011 @ 11:55 am

You may want to check out AdLibs article from yesterday about the president’s accomplishments. And it’s also a good idea to listen what chasethis has to say, about the details of healthcare and such. It may need a bit of patience to get into the discussions that you want to lead. There is no group think here.

» Posted By Truth On February 14, 2011 @ 11:45 am

The latter being the concern trolls, maybe an invention of Ms H herself.

» Posted By Truth On February 14, 2011 @ 1:32 am

Parsifals, the format is good there. But then, there is barely anything worth reading anymore – and moreover discussions are stifled. Guidelines are, what Arianna says guidelines are. For the day, for the week, for the month. Who knows that. I just do know she doesn’t like dissent (with her opinion), and she was pursuing her own agenda, regardless of it is best for America or not. After all, riling us up against the right and then even each other, brought her the clicks she longed for. Whereas peaceful discussions, like we can lead them here, are not lucrative. Sad, isn’t it?

One of my favorite quotes from Karl Jaspers:

People become better, if they are treated as if they were already better.

» Posted By Truth On February 13, 2011 @ 9:36 am

I so have the same feeling every time I go there for a “friend-fishing”

» Posted By Truth On February 13, 2011 @ 9:33 am

Hey, what is THIS doing on a non-political site like Huffington Post!

“Arianna Discusses Egypt On ‘This Week’ With Christiane Amanpour”

Must be the empress without clothes has forgotten what were her guidelines for this week.

» Posted By Truth On February 13, 2011 @ 9:31 am

Smirnon – welcome. The HP mods must have received new guidelines to implement the new agenda. What the agenda in a given moment is, is of course only known to the empress without clothes, Ms Not-A-Political-Site A. Huffington.

I was there for 20 minutes and find it a sad picture to watch. The superficial infotainment, the troll invasion and the advertisements flaring into my face as well as the facebook-enforcer when I want to fave someone are making me sick.

Thankfully Planet POV is here and so there is no need to go back to Huff – except for trying to bring some friends over here.

And hey, we can even edit our comments here!
