Did you ever know that pro-reform people flooded the Capitol and district offices with visits, emails, FAX transmissions, and phone calls, day after day after day? When Congress walked to the vote – along the street were rows and rows of clergy, students, labor unions, unemployed, and “just plain folks” in support – every single photo I saw cropped those people OUT. I KNOW what happened because I had friends and allies right there who sent me stories moments after it happened. and also this: If you take the tax agreement in the lame duck session, if you did not read (and most people do NOT) detailed analysis from the Center for Budget & Policy Priorities, you’d have NO idea how good that agreement – deal, if you prefer – was for ordinary people. Yet I can tell you the state of the US media was the biggest shock I had about this country. Just as an example, that a Palin could go on and on lying and was not called out for it was and is beyond me. So definitely something should happen here. I may also check out TH’s archives.
Maybe to reclaim the airwaves, insisting they belong to the public at large, would be a way to go.
There are some media conferences, but I don’t remember having read about some far reaching demands as of now. But I can be wrong and may have overlooked/not found existing initiatives. So I would be glad if I were proven wrong.
