The UK has a national healthcare system where healthcare providers actually work for the government. Actually, several developed nations have this kind of healthcare system. Most of them use a universal healthcare system where people with earnings of less than a threshold income are required to enroll in the public healthcare system, which is funded by a healthcare tax. Many of them also have a private healthcare insurance sector that is available for those who can afford it. The USA doesn’t have to adopt any other nation’s specific model, but we need to provide universal healthcare to our people. Although we have some of the best healthcare providers in the world, in the USA, the way we fund healthcare makes no sense, economically or morally. Our insurance funding model is to pay premiums to the private health insurance industry when we are young and healthy, when we generally don’t require much healthcare treatment. Universal health coverage (UHC) means that all people and communities can use the promotive, preventive, curative, rehabilitative and palliative health services they need, of sufficient quality to be effective, while also ensuring that the use of these services does not expose the user to financial hardship.
This definition of UHC embodies three related objectives:
Equity in access to health services – everyone who needs services should get them, not only those who can pay for them;
The quality of health services should be good enough to improve the health of those receiving services; and
People should be protected against financial-risk, ensuring that the cost of using services does not put people at risk of financial harm.
UHC is firmly based on the WHO constitution of 1948 declaring health a fundamental human right and on the Health for All agenda set by the Alma Ata declaration in 1978. UHC cuts across all of the health-related Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and brings hope of better health and protection for the world’s poorest.
Called “Medicare for All Who Want It,” a riff on the plan proposed by Sen. Bernie Sanders, another Democratic presidential candidate, the policy would keep employer-sponsored insurance and private individual plans while creating a government plan, called a public option, that any American could join.
The squeeze on America’s families started long before the election of Donald Trump, and I’m not running for president just to beat him. I’m running for president to fix what’s broken in our economy and our democracy. I have serious plans to raise wages for Americans. And I have serious plans to reduce costs that are crushing our families, costs like child care, education, housing – and health care.
The Affordable Care Act made massive strides in expanding access to health insurance coverage, and we must defend Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act against Republican attempts to rip health coverage away from people. But it’s time for the next step.
The need is clear. Last year, 37 million American adults didn’t fill a prescription because of costs. 36 million people skipped a recommended test, treatment, or follow-up because of costs. 40 million people didn’t go to a doctor to check out a health problem because of costs. 57 million people had trouble covering their medical bills. An average family of four with employer-sponsored insurance spent $12,378 on employee premium contributions and out-of-pocket costs in 2018. And 87 million Americans are either uninsured or underinsured.
Meanwhile, America spends about twice as much per person on health care than the average among our peer countries while delivering worse health outcomes than many of them. America is home to the best health care providers in the world, and yet tens of millions of people can’t get care because of cost, forcing families into impossible decisions. Whether to sell the house or skip a round of chemo. Whether to cut up pills to save money or buy groceries for the week. The way we pay for health care in the United States is broken – and America’s families bear the burden.
We can fix this system. Medicare for All is the best way to cover every person in America at the lowest possible cost because it eliminates profiteering from our health care and leverages the power of the federal government to rein in spending. Medicare for All will finally ensure that Americans have access to all of the coverage they need – not just what for-profit insurance companies are willing to cover – including vision, dental, coverage for mental health and addiction services, physical therapy, and long-term care for themselves and their loved ones. Medicare for All will mean that health care is once again between patients and the doctors and nurses they trust–without an insurance company in the middle to say “no” to access to the care they need. I have put out a plan to fully finance Medicare for All when it’s up and running without raising taxes on the middle class by one penny.

The purpose of this post is NOT to discuss The Christian Bible. It is really a political post about how Americans view male and female presidential candidates. The Democratic Party 2020 presidential campaign began with six female candidates, Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris, Amy Klobuchar, Tulsi Gabbard, Kirsten Gillibrand and Marianne Williamson.
Although Harris and Warren were briefly frontrunners, Biden, Sanders and Buttigieg have consistently been either the frontrunner or in the top four. Maybe this is because Biden, Sanders and Buttigieg are just better candidates than the female candidates are. Biden is a former vice president to a popular former president, so he certainly has name recognition. Sanders is a sitting senator and he gave Hillary Clinton a strong run for the Democratic nomination in 2016, so he too has name recognition. So maybe the reason these men consistently lead the field is due to name recognition. Oh wait! Pete Buttigieg? Well, there goes the name recognition “excuse”.
All candidates have strengths and weaknesses. However, a very loud and alarming question must be answered related to female presidential candidates in The United States of America. Are women valued as much in the USA, supposedly THE most democratic and equal society in the world, as men are? That is really a rhetorical question, because we already know the answer. NO!
This leads me back to another spiritual reference. One of the seven laws of the Universe is the law of gender. It states that everything has both male and female qualities. Within every woman lies all the qualities of a man, and within every man lies all the qualities of a woman. Qualities, not genes. Feminine qualities are love, patience, intuition and gentleness. Masculine qualities are energy, self-reliance, logic and intellect. ALL these qualities are in both males and females. It has been said that the greatest thing to have inflicted humanity was when men and women lost touch with their Feminine Divinity.
Who has outlined the best plan(s) to lead the USA out of the Trump era and into a new awakening? Is it Biden, Sanders or Buttigieg or is it one of the female candidates? The demographic to answer that question is primarily female voters.

The president was not allowed to participate in House Intelligence Committee hearings.

On Friday, Trump told a group of Republican lawmakers that it had been Perry who had prompted the phone call in which Trump asked Zelenskiy for a “favor” regarding Biden, according to a person familiar with Trump’s remarks.
The person, who spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity to describe a closed conversation among GOP officials, recounted that Trump said it was Perry who

On the same day Trump and his daughter dined with Chinese President Xi Jinping at Mar-a-Lago in Florida in April 2017, China awarded her three preliminary trademark approvals for jewelry, handbags and spa services. In all, she has obtained more than a dozen Chinese trademarks since entering the White House, ensuring her access to the world’s second-largest economy if she goes back into business.
While Mr. Obama did not single out any specific primary candidate or policy proposal, he cautioned that the universe of voters that could support a Democratic candidate — Democrats, independents and moderate Republicans — are not driven by the same views reflected on “certain left-leaning Twitter feeds” or “the activist wing of our party.”
“Even as we push the envelope and we are bold in our vision we also have to be rooted in reality,” Mr. Obama said. “The average American doesn’t think we have to completely tear down the system and remake it.”
The comments marked an extraordinary entrance into the primary contest by the former president, who has been careful to avoid even the appearance of influencing the direction of the race. His remarks offered an implicit critique of Senators Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren , who have urged voters to embrace “political revolution” and “big, structural change,” as well as proposals once widely considered to be left to the liberal fringes of the party, including court packing and decriminalizing illegal border crossings.
