Funny the MSM is not covering this news in it’s entirety…………… Dear Susan, By now everybody knows that James O’Keefe, the anti-ACORN video stinger, is willing to lie, manipulate, and apparently break the law, in pursuit of his extremist agenda. Monday, sources inside the Brooklyn District Attorney’s office, as reported by the New York Post (long hostile to ACORN) said the videos were a “heavily edited splice job”.[1] The New York Daily News further reported that sources in the DA’s office, which reviewed the unedited New York tapes as part of a five month investigation — the first time anyone not associated with O’Keefe has seen unedited tapes — said “they edited the tape to meet their agenda”![2] As Media Matters columnist Eric Bohlert writes, “the ’70s-era, blacksploitation pimp costume was a propaganda tool used to later deceive the public about the undercover operation.”[3] If you watched the videos you probably thought he wore that suit inside our offices. He didn’t. He dressed as a professional and presented himself as a boyfriend trying to help his girlfriend escape from an abusive pimp, something also noted in former Massachusetts Attorney General Scott Harshbarger’s December 2009 investigation of ACORN.[4] So why, then, does America’s newspaper of record, the New York Times, insist in report after report — as recently as March 1st — that he presented himself as a pimp in our offices?[5] Can you send an email to the Times’ Public Editor and tell him to retract the Times’ erroneous reporting about O’Keefe and ACORN? There are two critical reasons why this matters and my friend Brad Friedman of The Brad Blog lays them out nicely: “Because O’Keefe is now facing federal felony charges and his past credibility is important to the future proceedings and because these videos, and the Times reports on them, resulted in the U.S. Congress passing legislation to deny ACORN federal funding based on what appears to be an entirely phony premise which » Posted By SueInCa On March 4, 2010 @ 10:06 am Maddow is having a tweet battle with Orin Hatch, maddow Dear @OrrinHatch: http://is.gd/9CnhP I didn » Posted By SueInCa On March 3, 2010 @ 12:16 pm This guy is pretty slick, wonder why he is so silent on the issues of the day? Of course he would not name the person so who knows if it is true and is anti-semitic in his mind against teabaggers? He did not specify. Their goal? To raise awareness about our failed immigration policies. Their challenge? To do so while avoiding deportation and the wrath of anti-immigrant groups like the KKK. These students are among the tens of thousands of those who graduate from high school in America each year but are prevented from applying for federal student aid for college or a job because of something entirely out of their control: they are undocumented. Like many undocumented students, the Trails of Dreams marchers were each brought to the United States while young and have grown up like any other American – volunteering in their community, reaching the honor roll, and applying to top universities. But our current immigration policies penalize them for decisions made by their parents long ago and prevent them from fully contributing back to the country they love. As one of many examples, one of the Trail of Dreams marchers, Felipe, was accepted to Duke University but had to pass up his dream of attending due to the lack of a Social Security number. As they walk up the East Coast, the Trail of Dreams marchers are engaging communities in dialogue about the negative impact of our current immigration system. But they are not without opposition, and this past week as they entered Georgia they were greeted by an unwelcome counter-demonstration by a racist blast from the past: the Ku Klux Klan. The KKK demonstrators accused the students of being part of a “Latino invasion,” arguing that “God put each race in their respective continent and they were meant to stay there.” The student marchers’ response? They didn’t spew back hate, or point fingers, or threaten violence. Instead, they were joined by members of the NAACP and sang songs of freedom and justice. The contrast between those fighting for tolerance and human rights and those filled with hate and fighting for discrimination couldn’t have been starker. And it couldn’t have been clearer which group is marching on the side of history. For more information on the Trail of Dreams, click here. It is now spread to UC Davis where some people tagged a Gay/Lesbian group’s offices. The group has asked that the grafitti not be removed and left as a learning lesson for others. Remember that website that helps you find out who is backing any company? I accidently removed it, can you give me the address again?
Do you have their website? I woud like to add it to my religious files on my favorites.
Hey susan,
http://reformimmigrationforamerica.org/blog/blog/trail-of-dreams-immigrant-students-long-journey-for-justice/?gclid=CJ6N88qXmaACFQVaagodQSSdTw
Plain and simple the religious right believes it is the “word of god” that a wife is submissive to her husband. Gays are an abomination to “God”.
The Rapture is going to come and take only them and they will look down from on high while the rest of us are tortured.
Abstinance is the way to prevent pregnancy and if not, good luck to the woman who actually has the baby because once it is safely born, the religious right will wash their hands of the woman.
The church and charities should take care of the less fortunate and if they cannot, well those poor just better find another way to pull themselves up by their bootstraps. Help for the poor should come in the form of donations to Pat Robertson so he can continue to mine the precious metals and diamonds in Africa and fly around in his jet.
Same for all other televangelists. Especially the dying of the hair to a lovely shade of pink as Jan Crouch would attest to.
