My daughter participated in a march as early as her senior year. We got a little behind with moving and all to get our Shih Tsu in for grooming. We took him to a new groomer and when she asked me how short, I pointed to a dog in a cage and said like that. He had some matting that I could not get out. He looks nothing like a Shih Tsu right now LOL. We were cracking up because we had never seen him that short. They really have very small ears and that never dawned on me. He has always had longer silky ears.

It is if you are old, don’t have access to a vehicle or public transportation. I saw a news report on older voters in Tennessee and one was an older (91) woman who could not stand in the long lines forced on voters by the state. They were making it difficult to get a photo id for everyone. Registering is not difficult but meeting the standards being imposed sure is.

My thinking on Voter ID is if a state wants to pass it, they should be required to issue id’s to all residents with the exception of residents with felony convictions that still fall within the parameters of exclusion. I believe it is 3 years after release or release from parole.
I think so. They are elected to office based on the idea they will represent all the people in their district, state or country. By very definition of their party’s platform this is flawed from the get go. They are human and despite acting like they will be bi-partisan, their own party affiliation usually defeats that ideal.
I just asked my daughter and she says they stopped when she was a sophmore or junior in HS because of the words, one nation, under god, and that was back in 1989 or 1990
Thanks. There has been some approval by certain Dems in congress, they have just not been real vocal. As with any politician you can be sure any of them(d&r) will use it in re-election if they can gain ground with it.
They get away with it, that is why. I, too, am amazed. If I acted that way, I would be ashamed to show my face again, not them, they seem to revel in acting stupid.
And I agree with Roland Martin. It is hypocritical of people here criticizing Occupy when they praised other countries for their ME Spring. But they are the same people who will swear there is not a huge gap between the haves and have nots here in our country.

It will be coming to the Orpheum Theatre in the city. I cannot believe I am old enough (58) to join a senior group. But not too old to participate in Occupy, never too old to stand for what you believe in.
I have to believe they will be successful, if not I don’t know what will become of this country.
Thanks for your kind words. You know you are right alot of people ask me how I could have worked in that industry for years and still be involved in activism. Perhaps it is because I was in that industry that I can. I saw alot during those years of people trying to game the system and not just your regular criminal. Rich people, poor people and middle class people gaming the system. So in that, we are all equal. Crime is not a class thing, it is a state of mind. And crime involves the justice system sometimes seen as fair, sometimes not.
You paint a pretty grim picture and a few months ago I might have thought the ugly part of your scenario,the 1% gaining more power, was the path we would go but after the past couple months I have hope. Hope that I did not need to get from a President as much as I like him. But hope given to all of us by the Occupy movement. At first, as you know, I was skeptical, no longer. Look what happened in Oakland today, the people won. The mayor realized just how many people were behind these protestors and she changed her tune real fast. Oscar Grant Square belongs to the people again.
I saw that and the dude or dudette just loves to proselytize too. Some people will do anything for a dime a post.
