Never! » Posted By SallyT On August 30, 2012 @ 7:29 pm AB, he certainly became the bad and the ugly of The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. Although there still may be some good but not tonight in this performance. 🙁 » Posted By SallyT On August 30, 2012 @ 7:22 pm Kes, it was sad! Clint should have passed on appearing. He looked old and sounded old and wasn’t funny! I liked many of his films but am disappointed that he could support the platform of the Republicans now. I think he still thinks it is the party of Eisenhower. Oh well, we have George Clooney! And, Tom Hanks. Both still look good, too! » Posted By SallyT On August 30, 2012 @ 7:20 pm No problem. Just remembered how much fun we had making fun of them all at the debates. On Current, they were doing just that during the Gingrich’s speech. Reminded me of us. I don’t watch any of them but what they show on Current. Their commentary keeps it honest and that makes it more tolerant for me. » Posted By SallyT On August 30, 2012 @ 6:31 pm AdLib, as I was watching Current during Gingrich and helmet hair wife gave their speech on Reagan it reminded me of all of us during the debates making our comments. They were making me laugh out loud. Could we stand it enough to be online during Romney’s speech to make comments like we did during the debates? Just an idea and that will be the only way I can listen to him. Current is making it less painful, tho. » Posted By SallyT On August 30, 2012 @ 5:03 pm Paul Krugman analyzes myth vs. reality where Paul Ryan is concerned » Posted By SallyT On August 30, 2012 @ 2:02 pm Murph mentioned this last night about Al Gore and comments he made on Current. It bother me that the MSM is always qualifying it by saying both sides do it. However, the truth in reporting would find that the lies by the Republicans are 10 to 1 of the Democrats. And, I can’t think of the one from the Democrats but I can tell you the 10 from the Republicans. I only remember the lies because I know the truth. Do others? I hope more are informed but I doubt the media is going to be their source. » Posted By SallyT On August 30, 2012 @ 1:05 pm Gee, KQ, I don’t think I have ever been critical of Holder. In fact, I don’t think I have ever made a comment about him on here. You will have to remind me why you think so. I was in support of him and the bogus attacks against him by Issa. Like I said yesterday, they have the best coverage and commentary. They address the lies like none of the other stations do. Jennifer really torn into all those Governors last night and theirs. As a former Governor, she pointed out a lot on all they were lying about and all they missed. Glad you able to stomach it, Murph. Current is good about cutting away when the lies get just too much. Also, they are running tweets on the side of the screen and some of those are funny. » Posted By SallyT On August 29, 2012 @ 5:21 pm Murph, do you or KQ know the date of this chart? Al Gore and Current TV hosts discuss » Posted By SallyT On August 29, 2012 @ 2:32 pm Will this be aired?? Shuster’s convention notebook: The anatomy of a race story at the RNC Around 8:15 p.m. Tuesday night a television cameraman I know here in Tampa described an “ugly” and “despicable incident” involving potential delegates at the Republican convention heckling a camera operator working for CNN on or near the floor. And at some point, at least one or both GOP convention attendees tossed peanuts at the black camera op and said, “This is how we feed the animals.” Indeed, by 11 p.m. Tuesday, CNN issued a written statement saying, “CNN can confirm there was an incident directed at an employee inside the Tampa Bay Times Forum earlier this afternoon. CNN worked with convention officials to address this matter and will have no further comment.” Soon after the CNN statement, top GOP convention officials issued a statement saying, “Two attendees tonight exhibited deplorable behavior. Their conduct was inexcusable and unacceptable. This kind of behavior will not be tolerated.” Should Current TV put the story on our broadcast? On the one hand, I don’t believe this incident was indicative or representative of nearly all Republicans at the GOP convention. On the other hand, I think there is a way to report the story and remind viewers that this was isolated. By no means was I wanting to watch Romney other than to make fun of his make believe and lies.
Tonight, Chris Christie and the Republicans told the American people that we’re to blame for our broken economy. He told families to tighten their belts. He told seniors to live on less. He told teachers to stop fighting for fair pay.
He never, ever mentioned how much more the richest have taken, and he had no mention that those who broke our economy still haven’t been held accountable
And it worked. For nearly 50 years, as our country got richer, our families got richer—and as our families got richer, our country got richer.
And then about 30 years ago, our country moved in a different direction. New leadership attacked wages. They attacked pensions. They attacked health care. They attacked unions. And now we find ourselves in a very different world from the one our parents and grandparents built.
