Big “D” for Democrat and another big “D” for Dear Friend. I am glad you got to vote early. I have mine all made out and I just have to get it in the mail. Oregon has Democrats and Republicans in all races. In fact, for President we the following parties: Democrat, Pacific Green, Progressive, Libertarian, Republican, and Constitution. I don’t know what he is listening to but someone called in and said, “This storm is being caused by God because of all the lies that Obama has been telling.” Can you believe that, Mom?” I told her that I could because there are way too many nuts out there right now. » Posted By SallyT On October 29, 2012 @ 10:28 pm KT, I hope so, too!! » Posted By SallyT On October 29, 2012 @ 6:44 pm That’s her, KT! You know when I first heard that the power was off on the Jersey Shore, I got excited because I thought they had cancelled that show! No more Snookie and The Situation! Nope, it was a terrible storm instead. 🙁 » Posted By SallyT On October 29, 2012 @ 6:43 pm God is against voting, too? (Although that would be WILD!) I don’t usually count them but I was going through my emails tonight and deleting and I counted those since there were so many in these few days. Thank you for the love and hugs and right back at you! PS I have to admit that it is pretty neat to go through your emails and see that Robert Redford sent you one! That one I am sure was personal! He wanted to make sure I was voting for Obama. Bobby is always think of me and he knows me so well he didn’t ask for money. 😉 (Cl, now don’t you go busting my balloon and tell me that is a can email, too! A girl can dream.) » Posted By SallyT On October 28, 2012 @ 8:39 pm Okay, I don’t want to complain but since Friday I have gotten 21 emails (yes, I counted them) say something similar to the following. This latest one is from Michelle Obama but I have gotten one from the President himself, Joe Biden, Bill Clinton, Al Gore, Axelrod, Democrat Hdqtrs, and others this weekend. I have contributed this weekend already. You would think since I don’t contribute in the hundreds that they would catch on that I don’t have a lot of money. Or do they think I should have more since I haven’t given that much? They have made it very simple, since they have my credit card from my previous donations, that I just have to hit one button. I don’t know if this is sad that they have to keep asking or if it is something else. I just think it is getting to be a bit much and I feel guilty that I am not able to be a big contributor. “After all Barack has done in office, and after all you have done to build this campaign, we can’t afford to watch everything slip away on Election Night. » Posted By SallyT On October 28, 2012 @ 6:14 pm Gee, KT, I thought she was talking about her hubby in the hot tub! 😉 » Posted By SallyT On October 28, 2012 @ 5:52 pm Well, it ain’t no muppet! 😉 » Posted By SallyT On October 28, 2012 @ 5:50 pm Kes, you are right on that! A tale of money and politics from Montana, the epicenter of the campaign finance debate.
And now comes word that Chrysler plans to start making Jeeps in — you guessed it — China. What happened to the promises made to autoworkers in Toledo and throughout Ohio — the same hard-working men and women who were told that Obama’s auto bailout would help them?
“We’ve clearly entered some parallel universe during these last few days,” GM spokesman Greg Martin told the Detroit Free Press. “No amount of campaign politics at its cynical worst will diminish our record of creating jobs in the U.S. and repatriating profits back to this country.”
Major carriers such as American Airlines, United and Delta cancelled all flights into and out of three area airports in New York, the nation’s busiest airspace. About one-quarter of all U.S. flights travel to or from New York airports each day. So cancellations here can dramatically impact travel in other cities.
Delays rippled across the U.S., affecting travelers in cities from San Francisco to Atlanta. Disruptions spread to Europe and Asia, where airlines cancelled or delayed flights to New York and Washington from cities that are major travel hubs — including London, Paris, Tokyo and Hong Kong.
Anyway, KT, there you have it!
But the other side has outraised us — our opponents have $45 million more than we do for the final stretch. And none of us has ever seen what a barrage of money like that will do.
So thank you for your recent donation. We need to keep doing everything we can in these last days, and we still need your support.”
