Time Out for O/T – Vol. 18

Okay, since you all know I am a year older as of yesterday, well, I will show my age here. I remember when they use to close the schools on election day. (Which was great because it was always around my Birthday!) They would set up the voting booths and the neighborhood came in and voted. Or, they could go to their neighborhood church that also had booths. And, all the votes were counted by hand. The first time I voted, it was at my old grade school (I was living in my family’s old home). When I voted here in Oregon for the first time, it was at one of the neighborhood churches that I did not attend except to vote there. Now there are people standing in line for hours to vote in different parts of this country! And, there are computers to count the votes! This is ridiculous! Thank goodness Oregon has gone to mail in ballots. But, to be honest, I kinda miss getting up and going out to that neighborhood church and all the little old ladies asking my name, checking me off, handing me my ballot, going into that booth, closing the curtain and voting. Licking a stamp just isn’t the same. That is why my grandson (his first time) and I will be driving our ballots to a drop off point. Just feels a little closer to the days when.

KT, I heard they were going there just for you! You have a great time for all of us. Tell the Boss “Hello” for me. It is not “USA USA USA”. Nope, its “BORN IN THE USA, I WAS BORN IN THE USA!” 🙂

AB, Bush was so confident he was winning because he knew it was all rigged for him too. He’s face still makes me grit my teeth. Oh, jaw hurt! I am with you with the anxiety. Could they win by cheating again? I know they are trying but is everyone wise to it now? I hope so!

Bito, I can’t watch him in the mornings. I have only because my meds have not let me sleep and then only for seconds. I can’t take that Miki or whatever her name is. Joe thinks he knows so much and all he knows is a lot of nothing. Don’t tell me they have let him have time on any show on the weekend! ICK!!

I just received an email advising that the following is going on in Mass. These jerks can’t win without cheating or rigging it! And, we think foreign countries have fixed elections! USA! USA! USA! USA!

A Republican dirty-trick robocall in Massachusetts falsely claims that Hurricane Sandy pushed back the election by a day. “I want to urge you to vote for Elizabeth Warren and Barack Obama on Wednesday, November 7,” it says. The election is Tuesday.

You’re not late, KQ, it’s not midnight here, yet! Thank you! And, I hope you will enjoy the funnies. I have some on there just for you. 😉

Kalima, I saw this on TV and Ann looked like she was crying. But, I don’t know why….because she is tired……she thinks they may win…….she thinks they may lose……or she broke a nail? Very dramatic moment for her apparently.

» Posted By SallyT On November 3, 2012 @ 9:20 pm

Thank you, Kalima! And, Happy Shared Birthday to your hubby! Yes, I have been spoiled. Done nothing but relaxed. Lucky hubby you got there to have someone waiting on him with his favorite dish served by his favorite dish! You two enjoy!

Okay, I want this dress but…..you see that “W”…..on me that would be stretched out so far it would look like an “l”. And, my “R” would probably hang down and cover the “A”. So, Hell, my dress would look more like FORLORN!

Great! Vote Democrat in Texas and save an armadillo from bleeding and the roses yellow! 😉

» Posted By SallyT On November 3, 2012 @ 8:31 pm

Oh, AB, thank you! So, you misplaced your glasses again? If I look 23 to you, keep them off! But, put them on to vote! I spent the day helping my grandson fill out his first time ballot to vote. No need to tell you my suggestions to him. We aren’t mailing ours. Nope, we are driving ours to the polls! Thank you again for remembering me! 🙂

You can tell President Clinton is loving doing this! His poor voice is about gone but the Big Dog is still out there barking! Howl on, Billy! He keeps that crowd’s attention and he tells the truth about the President!

Bito, I agree with you! Poor Nate, they have really been picking on him. But, he is holding firm on his numbers! Here is how the map will look if Cramer is right. I have no idea if he is close or not but I like his thinking!

AdLib, I think Nate is getting pretty tired of these guys.

Nate Silver Took A Huge Shot Against Mainstream Political Pundits In His Latest Election Forecast

Nevertheless, these arguments are potentially more intellectually coherent than the ones that propose that the race is “too close to call.” It isn’t. If the state polls are right, then Mr. Obama will win the Electoral College. If you can’t acknowledge that after a day when Mr. Obama leads 19 out of 20 swing-state polls, then you should abandon the pretense that your goal is to inform rather than entertain the public.

I’M EXCITED! Not because it is my birthday but because we are adding a new section to the Planet! It will be The Sunday Funnies on the Planet. I will post cartoons from the week and occasionally update during the week in this new section. I hope you will find it a humorous relief from the week’s challenges. With the cartoons in one area, they won’t be pushing peoples comments off a page in other areas. But, you can comment all you want on the cartoon page! And, add your own. I will enjoy hearing your favorites, too. Now I must wait for AdLib to tell me I didn’t screw it all up on my “dashboard”. As I told him, it took me a long time to learn how to turn the dash lights on in my car! Watch for them! And….

HOPE TO SEE YOU IN THE FUNNIES!

Patsy, these people deserve Romney but all the rest of us don’t! Their brains have been fried by FOX News! They are well done with FOX’s talking points.
