I think she can hold her own. » Posted By SallyT On June 20, 2011 @ 4:06 pm Sure, Adonai, the species will survive but I don’t know about me. If its my time, I’ll go. But, I might try to climb a tree first and see if I can fly. » Posted By SallyT On June 20, 2011 @ 3:55 pm Khirad, you always know more about Portland than I do. I didn’t mean that it rained every 4th but that it has. I can only tell you that I remember for several years it being very dry on the 4th and in fact our grass did catch fire. We have had many years of water shortage but not this year. Last year couple of years we had record heat. This year summer is taking longer. But, I am probably wrong about that, too. Professor, I stand corrected before you even make one. One of these days I will say something about Portland you won’t critize but whats the fun in that. » Posted By SallyT On June 20, 2011 @ 3:50 pm Adonai, how we going to adapt if there is no water or the soil is contaminated? Okay, we’ll go back to the trees. » Posted By SallyT On June 20, 2011 @ 3:42 pm Cher, this weekend I have been able to get on but it has been real slow in responding. Today it has been fine. I don’t think it is my computer because I didn’t have trouble on any other site. Aliens may invaded the planet. Put your foil hat on! » Posted By SallyT On June 20, 2011 @ 2:32 pm Khirad, I have to disagree with summer not arriving until after the 4th of July. My husband and I just commented this weekend that this will be the first year in a long time that we don’t have to worry about the strip in front of our house next to the curb not catching on fire by fireworks. The grass is still green and all the other years it has been dead grass from the heat. Sure, there are many 4th’s that it has rained. » Posted By SallyT On June 20, 2011 @ 2:27 pm Cher, sweetie, it is easier to recover your DP, than recovering from the DTs, so I have been told. Hope you are feeling good today and the sun is shining for you. It has peeked out once this morning here in Portland. Hopefully, it will get to sticking around longer here soon. » Posted By SallyT On June 20, 2011 @ 12:18 pm Khirad, I think we are okay until Planet X reaches our atmosphere. » Posted By SallyT On June 20, 2011 @ 12:01 pm Some of your best posts are pointless. And, I mean that in a nice way! » Posted By SallyT On June 18, 2011 @ 9:06 pm Choice, my mother had exactly 3 refrigerators since I was born. One was there before and the day my dad died at 78 that one was still running. It was an International Harvester! Yap, dad was a farmer and even got mom’s frig where he got his tractors. It is amazing to me that young people think they need to change things out because the color isn’t popular anymore. » Posted By SallyT On June 18, 2011 @ 9:03 pm Yes, thats the name of the movie. Damn people were thin! » Posted By SallyT On June 18, 2011 @ 7:19 pm KT, on TCM right now is a 1934 movie Twentieth Century with Carole Lombard and John Barrymore. This is Drew Barrymore’s favorite movie of her Grandfather. Thought you might like to know. » Posted By SallyT On June 18, 2011 @ 7:06 pm Choice, I don’t know if this is what you were getting at but my comment is that nothing is built to last anymore. Or, are you able to add to anything you have already. You have to go buy a whole new system. Besides, it is probably out of date by now anyway. If you were building a table yourself, you would build it to last or make sure you could extend it if you needed to make it bigger. They build it not to last because they only make money when you keep buying. No one now a days buys to upgrade. They buy to keep up with changes. » Posted By SallyT On June 18, 2011 @ 4:20 pm I thought I read that the workers had heard that that location would close if there was trouble. I stopped reading the comments when I read the one that the unions had caused all the businesses to close and that was why there wasn’t any jobs and the states were broke because of the state union workers. These are people/kids that didn’t have a union jobs in the 60’s or 70’s when we were making more money than they are now. » Posted By SallyT On June 18, 2011 @ 4:02 pm Khirad, the comments that are made on Yahoo’s stories are always conservative responses. Not one comment said anything good about unions. I don’t know if they are all young people or trolls. It appears that way on anything. Personally, I think they are all kids in junior high just getting kicks out of talking tough. I ain’t wasting my time posting on there. I think they are to young to vote. » Posted By SallyT On June 18, 2011 @ 3:25 pm Buddy, whatever makes you feel the best about parting with this beautiful work of yours, I am for 100%. You put it up for auction on here, I will be the first bid. You give it to Cher, great! If you want to put a price on it and sell it outright, let me know the amount and I will see if the pocketbook has enough in my mad money. If someone can pay you more for it, well, I am for that. I will go along with anything that you decide and makes you feel good » Posted By SallyT On June 17, 2011 @ 12:13 am How about “No Mercy Marcy”? » Posted By SallyT On June 16, 2011 @ 10:58 pm I’d say she hit that one out of the ball park. » Posted By SallyT On June 16, 2011 @ 10:45 pm KT, so true. But, it is a lot easier to shovel that rain than it is snow. » Posted By SallyT On June 16, 2011 @ 6:36 pm KQ, was it you are was it someone else who posted on here last week about an ad that a liberal campaign had put out showing her on 60mins talking down religion and saying this is the Republicans ideal. » Posted By SallyT On June 16, 2011 @ 6:28 pm As they say, AdLib, pay back is a bitch. » Posted By SallyT On June 16, 2011 @ 5:34 pm I take it that the recording companies are the ones pushing this in Congress. » Posted By SallyT On June 16, 2011 @ 5:26 pm Now, AdLib, if I am on another site and they have posted on theirs an article from HP and I read it on there, Hp doesn’t get anything, that site does? I don’t mean on here but say I was reading AlterNet or Salon. » Posted By SallyT On June 16, 2011 @ 5:18 pm Oh, Adonai, I could say something here but I don’t want you to lose respect for me……..okay, I have to say it, “My husband has said that same thing before…………” He does usually start with “Oh Honey”. » Posted By SallyT On June 16, 2011 @ 5:07 pm Now, AdLib, you know I don’t go on there anymore because you guys told me that my clicking on their site gets them points or something. So, you will have to keep telling me, as you have, the silly stuff they say or do. They have lost me and the punishment is all yours. » Posted By SallyT On June 16, 2011 @ 5:01 pm Killgore, we get enough here in Portland for you all. In fact it rained today and will again this weekend and weather shows 3 more days next week. “It aways rains in cloudy Portland Oregon » Posted By SallyT On June 16, 2011 @ 4:52 pm Buddy, that is beautiful! I am again impressed with you, you young Hippie. I will be glad to give you my address for you to send it and I will pay the postage! But, I have a strong feeling that I will be over ruled by someone else on here……….. » Posted By SallyT On June 16, 2011 @ 4:44 pm Tex, no one gave that heckler any camera time during the press conference but just wait, he will be on MSM somewhere. » Posted By SallyT On June 16, 2011 @ 2:32 pm Buddy, the lyrics of that song are a paradox (is that the right word?) Anyway, it says: So, Buddy, do take your umbrella should you go. » Posted By SallyT On June 16, 2011 @ 1:44 pm I thought he did a pretty good job of covering everything involved in this matter. It will be interesting to see if Keith and his new boss, Al Gore, can come up with a new good news source. He was on Steven Colbert last night, too. I hope they can live up to this ad: http://current.com/shows/countdown/videos/four-days-until-the-debut-of-countdown » Posted By SallyT On June 16, 2011 @ 1:31 pmComments Posted By SallyT
That ain’t just talk but it is a fact
Yes it is always raining here in Portland
Somebody please oh please get me a raft!”
Seems it never rains in southern California
Seems I’ve often heard that kind of talk before.
It never rains in California
But girl don’t they warn ya
It pours man it pours.
