BREAKING NEWS: Osama Bin Laden Dead

That is my understanding, as well. The mission was a Geronimo and the results was the Jackpot. Geronimo was the charge and OBL was the result and Jackpot. My Native American hertiage can accept that better somewhat.
Now if you want to carry a conspiracy theory, the Skull and Bones society (which both Bush’s were members) has as their trophy the skull of Geronimo (supposely robbed from his grave, which they now deny because the Native Americans demanded it back).

OBL also wanted to take us down financial, thus the World Trade Center. He also wanted us to live in fear, which we reacted. He wanted us to live as those in the 3rd world have to, which we are heading.

Abby, I do agree with the majority of your statement but, if you don’t mind, I would like to say a few things. The killing of BinLaden wasn’t public, although some want to see. It was done with the less as its option. I feel that President Obama had to put that man away so that we can get out of there. If he hadn’t, that would be used against him because that was the “supposed” reason for us being there. Now, he should stay with his promise to start pulling the troops out and I think he will.
I don’t like killing and I hate war. I remember when we were going into Afganstan and I said to my friends, why, they didn’t do it. They were quick to yell that he was there and the Taliban were evil, too. They told me about them killing people in soccur fields and people watching. I pointed out to them that I didn’t see much difference in our killing someone for a crime and pulling the curtain back for those that wanted to watch them being put to sleep as a result of our capital punishment. Anyway, people have different beliefs and we can’t change them all. Yes, there are times like genocide that we should get involved.
The MSM is a business and they play to us reality fans. I personally think it has become too much. I believe in capitalism but not how it has taken over our country and our government is bought not elected. Unions kept that stretch between the top and bottom more narrow. But, we have been taught by those elitist that Unions are bad and we might all win the lottery someday so we shouldn’t be against the rich. Don’t be mad at them, it is the teachers, firemen and the police that have too much.
Oh, hell, I am saying too much myself but all I wanted to point out was I think this was something that Obama had to put to rest in order to put to rest the other messes that Bush created over there. Maybe that can help you accept it. Anyway…………..

Chaz, I get what you mean about the country taking things to the extreme but I don’t think it is the whole country or the whole government. But killing by a few of many doesn’t really justify killing many for just a few. However, there are the crazies out there. Like those thinking because a college student killed on campus, well, now we should give every student a gun. But, Chaz, I really have to have faith that there are more that know that is wrong and we will work to get the right people in government and make the government work. I know that we added the words “under God” to the plague of allegiance to show we were not Communist. Personally, I feel religion should not be a basis for our government and that should be changed to “under just and equal laws” for all. Anyway, I just thought I would share that with you, Chaz.

I have to agree that the Christian Right is very powerful and Bush did play to that part of his base. But I don’t believe that was Bush’s “main” reason for going into Iraq. We didn’t flood them with missionaries, we flooded them with capitalism. We didn’t take the Muslims out of Iraq, we took the oil. And, yes, there are still people playing the Christian Right for their own benefits, such as the Koch brothers. However, I don’t see the younger people that interested in the religious crusades and those are the guys Obama has to get back in his fold. There have been many wars faught over religion. But, behind the religion, they were really after the land, gold, and more people to put into slavery to gain more for themselves and their church.

I don’t see Obama allowing himself to be dragged down Dubbya’s swamp. I don’t know if I would give credit to Bush doing it with goodness in his mind. I think he didn’t feel he would be the main focus and the glory as the leader to finish the action he proclaimed that day with the bullhorn. However, I won’t disagree with you that it was the best decision for him to make.

Many children saw the death of their parents in those buildings and planes. That is a terrible tragedy for her and them.

I don’t live in a Hollywood world. I do realize that there will be times when the government can not disclose their actions before they are carried out. The results of those actions may be debated. But, in this action and my opinion, I think it was handled well.

Death and especially murder is a terrible thing. But, so is death from a disabling disease or an accident.

I am sorry for the need of this action and that it had to be taken but I leave the blame for it on Osama Bin Laden’s doorstep.

I know that there will always be people that don’t believe anything that can be made into a conspiracy theroy or they can keep writing books about or get air time, etc, etc. Most of those are the ones still doubting that President Obama was born in the US. And, most listening to Coast to Coast. (Although I must admitt that I do listen to that radio show sometimes.)

Do we show the pictures of the DeadMan or don’t we? I find the most interesting issue with that is:
No other country is asking to see them.
Only our own people that can’t believe Obama could do anything that their side couldn’t.
And, our own other people that don’t trust the government no matter who is in office.

My thoughts on people being torn on whether this is that or this is this. If we had gotten BinLaden right after the attack, I think people may have thought different or they may have thought the same. However, he has been made out the “boogie man” and has allowed us to be scared and enabled us to be sheep lend from our Constitution. Now the “boogie man” is gone, President Obama has chased him out from under our beds. If he hadn’t, going forward, we would have kept hearing, “Yah, but we never got BinLaden and he is still out there.” There will always be someone out there to “get us”. I don’t like being scared, I like being impressed. I am impressed by our Special Services and the Seals. The President picked up the mission, study it long and made sure we had the facts and he authorized that they go in and get the man that was scaring us. They swooped down and did it with no casualities to our men and few on the other side. Got the hell out of there and it was done. Wow! Why didn’t we do that sooner. Because our last President didn’t care about getting the Boogie Man. He wanted to invade and conqueor, for oil, land, business, or whatever. Look at all the lives lost, ours and theirs. People don’t like us because so many innocenence people, childen, their homes, their crops, their land has been destroyed by US. They didn’t fly those planes, why do we hate them. Well, we don’t! Atleast the major part of us. We want them to have a peaceful existence here on earth, just as we want that for ourselves. We look just as “big and bad” by sending in a few Seals to get one man as sending in the troops to conqueror and destroy. Why didn’t we do that the day, week, month, year after 9/11? Okay, I answered that already. Think of how it would have been if we had. I could still get on a plane without them screening me or taking my shampoo. We would have shown the world that you attack us, we will get you whether you are a nation or the leader of a few confused young men, and then we will go on about our business. We are late in making that statement. But, our President has ended that horror story and there may be others to come. However, I don’t need to check under my bed because we have some bad ass Seals out there to protect me.

Okay, just for you:
She said that it started from the embassy bombings in Africa, to the strike on the U.S.S. Cole, to the attacks of September 11, 2001, and so many more. Also that Muslims were targeted, too. She knows that nothing can make up for the loss of the victims or fill the voids they left, but she hope their families can now find some comfort in the fact that justice has been served. We need to have close cooperation with Pakistan and continued cooperation will be just as important in the days ahead, because even as we mark this milestone, we should not forget that the battle to stop al-Qaida and its syndicate of terror will not end with the death of bin Ladin.
In Afghanistan, we will continue taking the fight to al-Qaida and their Taliban allies, while working to support the Afghan people as they build a stronger government and begin to take responsibility for their own security and for transition approved by NATO.
History will record that bin Ladin’s death came at a time of great movements toward freedom and democracy, at a time when the people across the Middle East and North Africa are rejecting the extremist narratives and charting a path of peaceful progress based on universal rights and aspirations. There is no better rebuke to al-Qaida and its heinous ideology.
She started to tear up when she talked about the heroism and humanity that marked the difficult days after 9/11. In New York, where she was a senator, the community was devastated; but we pulled through. Ten years later, that American spirit remains as powerful as ever, and it will continue to prevail. So this is a day, not only for Americans, but also for people all over the world who look to a more peaceful and secure future – yes, with continued vigilance, but more so with growing hope and renewed faith in what is possible.
Our message to the Taliban remains the same, but today it may have even greater resonance: You cannot wait us out. You cannot defeat us. But you can make the choice to abandon al-Qaida and participate in a peaceful political process.

Killgore, so true. Hilary probably was surprised to see the women there and especially if they were using them as shields. I would have trouble watching. I still can’t watch when the boy has to kill Ole Yeller. Okay, not the same but my point is if I can’t watch that, I sure as heck couldn’t watch that!

When you look at their faces up close it does say it all. Look at Hilary. Also, besides the picture you have of Obama, look close to the one where he is next to Biden. I don’t think I need to see what they are watching to be sure they got the right man. I know others will.
