Europe’s growing problems are likely to put the US economy at risk at least partly because it will threaten trade with European countries and undermine US jobs growth. So the president moves aggressively to the Pacific region to boost trade and balance the expected losses on the European side. In other words, he’s looking around the curve in the road and and adjusting our position to forestall a possible collision. This is just brilliant. And it shows the iron-willed determination PBO has to put the US economy on a firm track despite the Congress, despite the media and despite the potential weakening of the European economy. Our president ALWAYS operates with a view of the forest, while his opponents have their noses pressed against the tree bark. He’s is just astonishing! Try for one minute to imagine any one of the pea brain presidential candidates on the right working on such a macro level of global economic strategy.
