Displaying 541 To 570 Of 709 Comments I think the USA’s foreign policy is schizophrenic. The rub is maintaining the USA’s “interest” and abiding by our stated principles of democracy. I don’t know what’s in Obama’s heart but squaring that circle has eluded those President’s who may have wanted to do. » Posted By Sabreen60 On February 12, 2011 @ 4:25 pm I think when the country saw the dogs and the fire hoses on the nightly news, people began to take notice. It was the same with the Vietnam war, also. We watched wounded and killed Americans on the TV every night. The country woke up. I might add that apparently a conscious decision was made to never show those images of Americans wounded on the battlefields again. » Posted By Sabreen60 On February 12, 2011 @ 3:34 pm Enjoyed your article. I will say that it’s a little disheartening to be called a “bot” if you even mention anything positive about the President. It’s also unfortunate when some who post on left blogs feel the need to call the President a “house Negro” (I’m pretty sure the “N” word would be preferred) or “Uncle Thomasobama” and have others defend the use of such name calling. I’ve visited those sites and really don’t see a lot of difference from what’s written on the rightwing web site. The problem with offensive language and vitriol is that it closes down all communication. But maybe that’s the intention. » Posted By Sabreen60 On February 12, 2011 @ 3:29 pm WATCH LIVE: Mubarak Resigns! Egyptians Celebrate! Reading rarely brings tears to my eyes. But, after reading your comments (especially the one that has no reply button)I felt this somewhat harden fighter “welling up”. You expressed, almost with poetry, my thoughts so completely. I don’t have the wherewithal to express myself so eloquently as you have done. So thank you for expressing in writing that which swirls around in my mind. » Posted By Sabreen60 On February 13, 2011 @ 10:04 am I posted this article on HP. I re-read it when I need to be reminded of the nature of the Republican Party in general, and those in Congress in particular. The game the Republicans play is not a new one. The goal is to make the Dems, including the President appear unable to govern. I agree that President Obama has compromised far more than I would have liked. But given the Party of “NO” to everything, I think I UNDERSTAND the “why” of the compromises. There is a method to the madness of Republicans. http://www.consortiumnews.com/2010/033110.html » Posted By Sabreen60 On February 12, 2011 @ 10:55 pm Mubarak: Half sunk, a shattered visage lies Yes it is !! » Posted By Sabreen60 On February 11, 2011 @ 7:58 am Thanks Chern, I’m going to try to upload my photo. » Posted By Sabreen60 On February 10, 2011 @ 8:10 pm So this is where everybody went :>) Hope I can join in on the conversation. It was reported that the King of Saudi Arabia had “testy” words with President Obama. Obviously, the King wants Mubarak to stay. » Posted By Sabreen60 On February 10, 2011 @ 7:50 pm Good Morning All PW Ed Schultz has been on this story for 3 straight days. 30,000+ showed up to protest yesterday. Here is the link to his show last night. Walker is scum and according to reports have screwed up the budget and given money in the form of tax breaks to multi-nationals as payback for contributions to his campaign. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21134540/vp/41635841#41635841 » Posted By Sabreen60 On February 17, 2011 @ 7:22 am Good Morning everyone and Happy Valentine’s Day. » Posted By Sabreen60 On February 14, 2011 @ 8:18 am Thanks Cher. But when I grow up I want to be like you! I see Senator Cornyn just upped the ante…wait…please wait a moment….honey, can I get $100…these guys have caused me to go a little over budget this week. Ok, thanks. » Posted By Sabreen60 On June 30, 2011 @ 5:06 pm Every time some assh0le like Halperin says something like this I go to Obama 2012 and donate. Now Sen. Pat Roberts says the President needs to take a valium. You know the “angry black guy needs to cool it”. So I’ve got to donate, AGAIN. At this rate I won’t have enough money to buy anymore mugs and tee-shirts. » Posted By Sabreen60 On June 30, 2011 @ 3:45 pm Well here’s Clarence’s reasoning (?) Justice Clarence Thomas reasoned that the warning labels were the responsibility of the brand-name makers and the Food and Drug Administration. He said that because generics were just copies, their makers could not be sued for inadequate warnings if those warnings didn’t exist on the original. http://www.latimes.com/health/la-na-court-drugs-20110624,0,5783097.story So if I operate a pharma business, I don’t have any responsibility in checking the drugs I sell. I just take the word of the drug dealer (literally) that the drug is fine. I don’t have to read any literature on said drug; I don’t have to check what the FDA says. Give me the drug – any drug – I reproduce it and I have no liability – SWEET. With this reasoning I should be able to reproduce any number of products that have not been adequately tested and have no liability when the product – what – explodes in your face. » Posted By Sabreen60 On June 23, 2011 @ 8:27 pm Okay, so the SCOTUS has just provided yet one more thing to be pissed off about – A woman filed suit against a drug company. She had taken a generic drug for high cholesterol and suffered severe brain damage. The case went before the SC. They ruled (I don’t have the breakdown)in favor of the drug company. Basically, they said that the drug companies do NOT have to provide the same information to consumers about generic drugs as brand name drugs. So, I would assume if consumers become aware of this ruling they will opt for brand names (at much higher cost), thus ensuring that the drug companies make even more money, more money, more money than they are already. » Posted By Sabreen60 On June 23, 2011 @ 8:11 am American exports increased: http://www.thepeoplesview.net/2011/06/in-mean-time-american-exports-shoot-up.html » Posted By Sabreen60 On June 14, 2011 @ 7:18 pm Are you talking about the contraception story? » Posted By Sabreen60 On June 9, 2011 @ 9:09 am c-lady: “Fine for him – he had megabucks.” » Posted By Sabreen60 On June 8, 2011 @ 8:58 pm I just watched Colbert and was practically rolling on the floor. It was a routine about Palin’s insane Paul Revere comment. I’m not going to ruin it by telling you what he did. Lets just say it’s probably one of the best routines I’ve seen Colbert do. » Posted By Sabreen60 On June 6, 2011 @ 9:15 pm Yep, I’m with you. » Posted By Sabreen60 On June 6, 2011 @ 3:51 pm I probably ‘over post’ this web site, but…… http://www.republicanoffenders.com/ I don’t think it’s been updated lately. » Posted By Sabreen60 On June 6, 2011 @ 3:49 pm Gawd, I checked out different sites and HP {spit} has a huge picture of “shirtless Weiner” on the front page. How long are we going to be subjected to this? Obviously, this stuff goes on whether politician or not. Pelosi is going to investigate for any illegal or ethical violations. Fine. I hope this doesn’t get dragged on at the expense of important stuff. If Vitter can still be in Congress after his flings with prostitutes; if Ensign stayed in Congress for a year after his affair and hush money scandal, can I look forward for this to run on a couple of news cycles and then the media will move on? » Posted By Sabreen60 On June 6, 2011 @ 3:46 pm 🙂 » Posted By Sabreen60 On June 4, 2011 @ 9:56 pm Gee, there are wackos in Australia, too. And he didn’t have to feel like his bottom lip was being pulled up over his head. I’m sorry, but I remember Bill Cosby saying that’s how his wife described giving birth.
