What Would FDR Have Done?

Here’s another perspective on FDR v BHO. I think the article is pretty enlightening.

I’m not sure what you’re not buying. That the MSM is rooting for the President to fail or that they simply want a horse race.

» Posted By Sabreen60 On August 10, 2011 @ 10:26 pm

Nope the President does not. He has to ASK for air time. People were complaining about his talk re the debt ceiling because they said it was political and he should not have been granted air time. That’s why they gave Boehner time for a rebuttal.

» Posted By Sabreen60 On August 10, 2011 @ 10:21 pm

That’s not true. The MSM and Republicans were complaining that the President was ALWAYS on TV. Go check the C-SPAN archives and see how many times the President spoke to the nation.

» Posted By Sabreen60 On August 10, 2011 @ 10:19 pm

I agree with you 100%. How many times did the President tell the public not to give the keys back to the Republicans. If you watched C-SPAN you heard almost all of his speeches. If you watched the MSM, not so much. When is the last time the MSM, including corporate owned MSNBC listed the President’s accomplishments. Rachel did it a while back, but there’s more since then. Many in the public including some the left are lazy. They want the pundits to think for them. Practically every Sunday morning talk show for months and months had a majority of Republicans on with one or two Democrats. For the last month it has been bash Obama almost 24/7. I’m cynical enough to believe the MSM is rooting for the President to fail and the country. If not that, what? A horse race for ratings?

Presidential Primary Challenges Miss the Point

ADONAI,

I agree with your comment 100%. We’ve been down the “primary” road before with disastrous outcomes. Really, the only folks I hear talking about a presidential primary are some folks on the far left wing of the party. However, this talk is not good, IMO. We really don’t need anything that may have a chance of depressing the vote.

The Enemy Within

Pat has been a racial arsonist since at least the 70’s when I learned about him. Pat, on his web site, called then Candidate Obama a con-man and a street thug.

The powers-that-be at MSNBC are NO different than Arianna Huffington in that their bottom line is profit. These people are not stupid. They will do whatever it takes to line their pockets. Lawrence O’Donnell is a company man. He won’t buck and he’ll take it and like it. As I previously said, if I didn’t know better (and I don’t) O’Donnell behaved as though Huffington signs his paychecks. From that day to this I have not and will not watch O’Donnell again. I’ve crossed Ed off my list and Rachel is on her way out. I’ve realized for sometime that their are subjects that Rachel won’t touch which made me even more aware of corporate control. Now, I have even more reason to no longer stress myself with these pundits who get paid to stir the pot. Their goal now is try to make 2012 a horse race to increase ratings.

We Are Our Own Worst Enemy

Great analogy. If you see it somewhere else, know that I stole it 🙂

May I use it 😕

I know Milt is pretty much preaching to the choir, but IMO this is a great article. Please take a moment to read it and see what you think.

Yeah Marion they make me sick, too. I saw Adam Green’s tweet about Gabby and it was disgusting. Why say anything at all. What was the point other than to start chit. Some people thrive on chaos and confusion. Bill Maher has worked my last nerve and I’m tired of his backhanded and not so backhanded racist comments about the President. I read a really good piece on his history and it ain’t pretty.

IMO, our best hope is to register and get every Dem, Indie and sane Repub (if there are any left) to the polls in Nov 2012 to vote for EVERY Democrat on the ticket.

There are two good articles on

I don’t have an answer. I think we will have to wait for the dust to settle. Personally, I have unsubscribed to the “hair-on-fire” sites, so I don’t get those emails. I will link to this site and other sane sites on Twitter, FaceBook and other sites. Eventually the emotional progressives will wear themselves out – until the next “hair-on-fire” issue.

Credit Where Credit Is Due: Some People Need Reminding

Spot on Marion.

IMO, Congresscritters (sorry) are often more concerned with keeping their jobs than doing what’s right for the country. Of course, there are exceptions. But the thing is, in many instances they are simply wrong in their beliefs of what will or will not keep them in their jobs. Blue Dogs thought that being ultra-conservative would keep their paychecks flowing. Wrong. Far lefties thought the same thing – in at least 2 cases that I can think of they were wrong.

The President has given the Dems and the Repubs advice on more than one occasion and both have refused to listen and it’s been at their own peril.

The Debt Ceiling Crisis Thread

The UCLA Law Professor also made the point that holding the debt ceiling hostage in order to obtain other policies is unconstitutional. The teabaggers have already violated the Constitution.

» Posted By Sabreen60 On July 29, 2011 @ 6:13 pm

I heard Rachel say, on several occasions, that Boehner is terrible at his job. I agree with Rachel on this one. I don’t know how many bills Boehner has brought to the floor and the bills didn’t pass. Very, very seldom did Pelosi bring a bill to floor if she didn’t have the votes. Clyburn counted the votes. Isn’t Cantor suppose to count votes for Boehner? If not, who?

» Posted By Sabreen60 On July 29, 2011 @ 7:33 am

I remember the President telling the Repubs (when he smacked them down at their conference) that by demonizing the health care bill (or whatever) to their constituents, it would make it impossible for them to come to the table and compromise about anything. Well they have sold President Obama as the spawn of Satan and everything he and the Dems have done or want to do is right out of the handbook of the Anti-Christ. So now they are being cursed by the REAL teabagger spawn that they created.

It case you were wondering what the GOP did in the House this evening.

“To translate this into English, Speaker Boehner’s budget proposal doesn’t have the votes. In the hopes of twisting a few arms, the House proceeded to take up a few measures related to — I kid you not — naming post offices. (Yes, five days before an economic catastrophe of Republicans’ making, they’re reduced to naming post offices on the House floor.)”

I hope everyone is calling/emailing their Congressional Representatives as the President asked. I know many servers were busy or down and phone lines were busy according to people on Twitter. But there’s tomorrow so I hope we tell our representatives what we expect from them.

» Posted By Sabreen60 On July 25, 2011 @ 9:14 pm

I’ve asked that question for weeks. Why aren’t the American people up in arms about Norquist, a non-elected person, telling elected Congressional Reps what to do and how to do it. This man is virtually running a shadow government. Elected officials are signing pledges that they will take a stance against something (raising taxes) even if it’s harmful to this nation.
