I’m not really a blogger. I just came across your web site after my “WTF Huff making their members link to FB” google search. I started reading all the comments, & I guess just needed a place to vent! But now that I found you, you are now located on my toolbar @work, and I plan to do the same on my home PC.
Is it okay if you’re not a blogger?

Is removing the same as closing your account? I just posted about my experience below. They send you an E-mail saying they will miss you & if you change your mind you can reopen account click here.
I thought if they got rid of having to link to FB account (that I closed years ago) I would consider going back & I wouldn’t have to start over. But after reading more about Arianna (here) and Huffs true money making intentions, I will never go back!

Making a statement is good the more the better! They send you an E-mail:

“You have successfully closed your account with The Huffington Post. We’ll miss you!
If you want to sign up again later, you may do so here.(link)
You can also reopen this account by following this (link)

You will no longer receive social notifications from The Huffington Post. You may reopen your account at any time.

Thanks,
The Huffington Post”

I was not happy this is my response:

“I DO NOT HAVE A FACEBOOK account nor has my comments ever been that disrespectful to other Huff members. So GO F_CK YOURSELF Arianna & continue to SELL out to a POLICE STATE & CORPORATE RULE! I hope you lose thousands of Huff members!”

They probably wouldn’t let me sign back up! 😉

Sadly, I didn’t realize I had a few Tea Baggin Bozos in my family, and learned the hard way. More distant family members but I always thought they were old hippies, but I guess there’s a lot of red-neck hippies. I found out a lot of them pot smoking old hippies (& also young men)are really Libertarian’s that love their guns!

OMG another school shooting!

I think I am there too, every once in awhile I’ll get a E-mail from them asking to update my account or something. I just reply using a lot of profanity. I thought when you delete everything it was gone but they still have my personal pictures!

Hi I am new here & a former Huff Super User. I closed my Huff account 2 days ago because of their new FB BS policy. I never liked Arianna, I always thought she was a phony but I didn’t know the information that was provided in this article about her. If I would have known in 2007-08 (when I became a member) I might not have joined back then. After knowing all this and what their real intentions are ($$$), I wouldn’t go back if they paid me! I closed my Facebook account years ago. When I started posting my political views it became real nasty with some old friends & distant relatives, so I unfriended everyone except my close family members. However, after learning more about FB’s data collecting, etc. I just said f-k it & closed it. I agree with you & I too, don’t understand why so many people are willing to stay there & give away so much information about themselves. At first I thought it was cool but now I think it’s such an impersonal way to keep in touch with your family & friends.
I’ve been checking Huffs front page only to see how low the number of comments are, and read the responses to Tim McDonald’s article about why they are doing this…it’s so BS! Blaming it on the trolls, yeah right, the devil made me do it!
