Huffington Post Goes NSA on Its Members

Great to see you too.

One of the best things about this site is no front page images of Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber.

This site is what HP used to be, if memory serves, many, many years ago.

I just meant that people are leaving HP. And this in no way reflects how bad it may actually be since many of those fans haven’t even posted in the last few months, six months or few years. HP is probably hemorrhaging more members than it appears just by looking at how many fans are lost.

I just hope HP starts to feel the pain. Never recovers, and goes under.

BTW,

I recently noticed I lost about 100 fans so far on HP.

I went down from around 1600 to around 1500 or something like that.

Hello Planet POV.

I haven’t posted on HP since December 9, and I do not intend to anymore. I refuse to link HP to Facebook. I have not deleted my account but I refuse to link to Facebook so that’s it for me.

The Mad Hatter’s America

This is different. Times are not as mellow as several decades back and it’s likely to get far worse due to peak oil.

The Lonely Ape

We were better off as farmers or hunter gatherers…..

No one understands the land better than hunter gatherers I’m sure.

Domesticated animals helped develop the immune system of survivors of domestication….

People from the Stone Age seemed to be pretty good astronomers; Stonehenge, the Maya observatory…..

We may feel superior and think we are smarter…, but, we definitely lost something along the way……..

Social Darwinist…..

Yikes…!

He may be on to something though…..

We are animals. Homo Sapien Sapien to be exact. We share a common ancestor with our closest cousin, the Chimp…..

and every other species you can think of…..

I don’t have a religious bone in my body…,

but some days it has felt spiritual looking up at stars or looking through telescopes at Nebula, galaxies, and globular clusters…..

I love this post too. Maybe at the heart of our environmental problems is the fact we are no longer connected to the world and critters around us.

The Battle of Thermopylae: How Democracy Was Saved

I’ll second that Chase…..

Arab Uprisings: Still Writing History

Obama would be insane to ignore the free flow of oil right now…

The age of cheap oil is over…, if Obama wants a second term…, he needed to do something.

I think the issue in Egypt had more to do with over 83 million people living along the Nile and in the delta in an arid country.

The country of Egypt is about the same size as Texas and California combined but most of that land is sparsely inhabited, and very arid.

The population of California is about 36.9 million people,
Texas has 24.7 million people

The population of Egypt is higher than that.

Egypt’s debt is 80% of GDP.

Their oil production is in decline, they can no longer export oil.

But it imports 40% of its food, and 60% of its wheat (a staple).

Food prices around the world have spiked because of bad weather this year.

Plus, the average Egyptian spends 40% of their income on food.

I’d say this is a classic case of population overshoot bumping up against real physical limits.

The only thing you get from HP RE Peak Oil is propaganda and Ad hominem attacks from Raymond Learsy…………
