» Posted By Redemption Song On March 4, 2011 @ 11:42 am Mike Huckabee: The Craven Christian Choicelady, I agree with all…only, I didn’t mean “outside of marriage” to mean “adultry”; rather, I meant that, on his view, people wouldn’t have sex unless married. (Amphibolies-r-us. ;0) » Posted By Redemption Song On March 6, 2011 @ 4:27 pm In Huck’s perfect world, no one has sex unless it’s with the person to whom they’re heterosexually married. (And the babies he doesn’t want to pay for are specifically babies of color.) Huck’s a peach. Not. :b » Posted By Redemption Song On March 4, 2011 @ 5:30 pm Escaping to Canada already sounds good. ;0) » Posted By Redemption Song On March 4, 2011 @ 5:21 pm Cher, I’ve not had time to read much, but thus far the only thing I’ve read is people calling Huck out on his hypocrisy. (It’s difficult to believe the man is *really* this stupid…of all the no-need-to-go-there’s he could have picked, this is one of the worse.) » Posted By Redemption Song On March 4, 2011 @ 5:19 pm …my first thought. » Posted By Redemption Song On March 4, 2011 @ 10:25 am To my knowledge, Huckabee has never addressed Bristol Palin’s pregnancy explicitly or implicitly. (It would be nice if he did for consistency and integrity, if nothing more.) » Posted By Redemption Song On March 4, 2011 @ 10:19 am Hypocrisy is just how they roll, Khirad. » Posted By Redemption Song On March 4, 2011 @ 10:00 am Whoops…I commented before reading down…and so it goes! (And, yes, she looks healthy and happy and blissfully unaware of Huck’s existence.) I would also go farther and say that being engaged doesn’t matter. Many women opt to have children alone for various reasons…and it’s certainly not the case that Portman glamorizes being an unwed mother…the whole “finance in the wings” is actually a nod to Huck’s conservative brand of what constitutes a family. Which is ironic, to say the least. (That said, it’s difficult to accuse a Republican of being logically consistent.) » Posted By Redemption Song On March 4, 2011 @ 9:59 am Nice post, Marion. Huck has also on a recent rampage of late against unwed mothers a la public condemnation of Natalie Portman tying in, while he’s at it, swipes against African American and Latina women. (Let’s see…he tossed substantial portions of the black, Latino and youth vote all in an appeal for an admittedly vocal yet small “base”. Not very bright–or very “nice”–that one.) See _Vanity Fair’s_ “Unwinnable Battles”: » Posted By Redemption Song On March 4, 2011 @ 9:55 am NEW PLANETPOV FEATURE: Email Notifications of Replies to Your Comments Thanks, AdLib–I’ll definitely look for it. (Stewart is good fun…and food for thought.) Warm regards, » Posted By Redemption Song On March 4, 2011 @ 12:22 am One itsy-bitsy suggestion, AdLib: for those of us who are sadly absent-minded, would it be possible to have an “opt-in” button by the “save” and “cancel” buttons when you’re editing an already submitted comment? » Posted By Redemption Song On March 4, 2011 @ 12:20 am Ah. Thanks for the clarification, AdLib. (I’m off to finish grading mid-term exams…for joy. :0) Have a good one!! » Posted By Redemption Song On March 4, 2011 @ 12:13 am …I know I can be slow, but is “opt-in” synonymous with “manual”? » Posted By Redemption Song On March 3, 2011 @ 11:45 pm …of course I forgot to click “Notify me of follow-up comments via e-mail.” (It’s probably better “automatic” in which case each individual could turn it “on” or “off”.) » Posted By Redemption Song On March 3, 2011 @ 11:23 pm I like the idea, AdLib…some threads move fast and if you leave for a few days (as I am wont to do ;0) you’re liable to “miss” people. » Posted By Redemption Song On March 3, 2011 @ 11:15 pm The View From Here: An Open Letter to President Obama Hear, hear! » Posted By Redemption Song On March 8, 2011 @ 10:31 am “…Ferra Knows Best.” ;0) » Posted By Redemption Song On March 8, 2011 @ 9:00 am Save the American Dream Rally in L.A. PatsyT & AdLib, these photographs and videos are great…thanks for posting them!! Signing off, » Posted By Redemption Song On March 4, 2011 @ 12:11 am No kiddin’. I lived for a time in Madison…in February no one is outdoors in mere shirt sleeves. » Posted By Redemption Song On March 4, 2011 @ 12:10 am In the World of the Blind, We’re Often Led Off the Cliff A later, (perhaps too large?), project might be to proffer a side by side annotated bio of major national newscasters and personalities. » Posted By Redemption Song On February 27, 2011 @ 6:14 am Suddenly conspiracy theories don’t look half so insane. (At least with regard to the control of dissemination of information is concerned.) » Posted By Redemption Song On February 27, 2011 @ 6:12 am Nice, Marion, and so well written. You’ve said a lot of what I’ve been thinking, with the exception that I don’t mind the occasional intensity of BBC reporters, even when I don’t agree with where they’re headed. I would add that I’ve often silently wondered, “Hmmm…and so how many of these protesting teachers, firefighters and police offers either voted for Walker or didn’t vote at all?” » Posted By Redemption Song On February 27, 2011 @ 6:10 am Invite For Collaboration, Part 3 Truth, If you’re “interviewing” or polling people for the part on how current or past HuffPo commenters felt about monitoring, etc., I’m willing to be interviewed (whether used or not) or polled; and this is probably already covered, but HuffPo dabbles in pseudo-science with potential harm beyond misinformation…for example, one of their currently highlighted stories includes the possibility that engaging nuclear weapons could reverse global warming with a nuclear winter. (How dumb is that?) And so on. » Posted By Redemption Song On February 27, 2011 @ 5:05 am The Destruction of Planned Parenthood Ghostrider, Nice post. (I think it might be the case that while Planned Parenthood doesn’t perform invasive abortions, they are able to prescribe both “the morning after pill” (which can be used up to five days after intercourse) and “the abortion pill”, mifepistrone, (which may be used within nine weeks of pregnancy). To the extent that PP prescribes mifepistrone, they could technically be describe as abortion providers unless one makes explicit that the word “abortion” is referring only to medically invasive procedures such as D&C.) » Posted By Redemption Song On February 27, 2011 @ 5:25 am Friday Music Thread – Favorite Films and Film Music Ha! (My mother loves this song…my father–now deceased–was the son of a preacher; as she says, “Hello.” ;0) » Posted By Redemption Song On February 26, 2011 @ 2:11 pm Nice, Chase. One of my favorite Cat Stevens (beautiful, no?) songs, Rubylove:
» Posted By Redemption Song On February 26, 2011 @ 2:03 pm …weird religious beliefs aside, a man with rythm is a beautiful thing. (I’m trying to get my son to learn a “word of the week”, and that one’s a good one. (He’s a nerd-in-training, but thus far he’s resistent except when it comes to history and science…neither are my forte, but you have to go with the flow on these things. ;0) » Posted By Redemption Song On March 21, 2011 @ 3:01 pmComments Posted By Redemption Song
